  1. No rear surrounds. SR6010 is only 7ch with 9ch processing. This isn't explicitly stated in the manual but I set it to 9.1ch with the pre-out set to front and that gives me 4ch avr amplification for Atmos. I imagine that'd you'd set the SR6014 to 11.1Ch, pre-out to front and off you go (but unfortunately can't guarantee it). Do you already have the 6014, or is this a pre-purchase question?
  2. For what it's worth, I've got the SR6010 with 4 channels of external amps (front and surrounds), and the Marantz powering the 4 Atmos + Centre. During calibration there's lots of relays clicking as the sound switches between the 4 Atmos speakers, but once setup it works.
  3. Hi Zac, Thanks for the offer, however I've got the Silver 6 and W12 sub in the natural oak (along with bronze centre and bronze 2 for the rears also in natural oak) so will keep looking for the matching centre. Cheers Ben
  4. I would love to get these but have a couple of curious little kids. What is the situation with replacement ribbons? It seems the company is no longer around.
  5. Could we do a group buy of these mics, as well as miniDSP 2 x 4, 2 x 4 HD etc? There seems to be heaps of interest.
  6. Hi @nzlowie Not sure if you've already seen these, but here are a couple of audioscience reviews of miniDSP products. Summary - SHD measures a lot better than miniDSP 2 x 4 HD. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-and-minidsp-2x4-hd-dsp-and-dac.2674/ https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-minidsp-shd-dac-dsp-and-streamer.4286/ I haven't' heard either, but am considering getting one.
  7. Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the suggestions. MiniDSP looks very tempting as a great way to integrate the sub to 2 channel music as well as doing the switching AVR / Integrated. Plenty of different ways of connecting a single sub to an AVR and integrated amp. Here's a list of options for others in the future who have a similar setup: 2 to 1 AV switch with 3x RCA 2 to 1 Stereo switch and a 2:1 sub cable (Y splitter cable in reverse). I've seen a few comments that on some amps this setup can also combine the L and R in the integrated amp - not good. 2 to 1 Stereo switch and a stereo to mono signal converter (not sure how good this is: https://www.newark.com/mcm-custom-audio/50-20795/stereo-to-mono-signal-converter/dp/25AC5154 2 to 1 Stereo switch and MiniDSP 2 x 4 2:1 sub cable(Y splitter cable in reverse) and MiniDSP 2 x 4 Stereo to mono signal converter and MiniDSP 2 x 4 MiniDSP 4 x 8 Cheers, Ben
  8. Thanks Recur and Snoopy, hadn't considered something like a DSP as the solution, and having all the extra benefits it brings as well. This is probably a silly question, but how do I connect the L&R from the integrated and the LFE from the AVR (3 RCAs) to the MiniDSP 2x4 which only has 2 inputs?
  9. Next question is, does anyone know of a decent 2 to 1 AV selector switch with 3 RCA terminals? Plenty of very cheap stuff on ebay - anything better available?
  10. Thanks Andy, I think I can see how that would work. A 2 input, 1 output AV selector switch with L&R + Composite Video RCA terminals could be connected as follows: LFE from Marantz AVR connected to composite video RCA on input 1. L&R pre-out on Arcam integrated amp connected to L&R on input 2. For the AV selector output, connect L&R to sub input L&R, and the composite video to the LFE sub input. When the switch is in positon 1, Marantz AVR LFE output is connected to sub LFE input (Arcam is disconnected), and in position 2 the Arcam L&R are connected to the sub L&R input (and Marantz AVR disconnected).
  11. I have a Monitor Audio W12 subwoofer that is currently used for HT and is connected to a Marantz SR6010 AVR by the LFE input. I also have an Arcam A38 integrated amp that is powering the front speakers via the FRONT pre-out on the Marantz. Here’s a basic schematic of the setup. * Marantz SR6010 front pre-out -> Arcam A38 HT bypass input -> Monitor Audio Silver 6 Speakers * Marantz SR6010 sub pre-out -> MA W12 sub LFE input I’d like to also connect the sub to my Arcam A38 for two channel music listening to sources like CD / streaming DAC that are connected to the Arcam. For two channel music I’d prefer to keep the Marantz turned off. I think that would entail using the pre-outs on the Arcam connected to the L&R inputs on the sub so it could use the sub’s crossover. The problem I see is that the sub would then have both LFT and L&R inputs connected at the same time, and for HT it would be receiving signals for both LFT (directly from the Marantz) and for the front speakers (via the Arcam). If the Marantz room correction put any time delay in one of the signals, I’d get all kinds of weird time smear artifacts and phase issues going through the sub. If anyone’s got any suggestions for the best way to connect this up without spending lots of money that’d be much appreciated. Thanks, Ben
  12. Item: Monitor Audio Silver Centre Speaker Price Range: Negotiable based on condition etc. Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: To match existing speakers needs to be 5th generation (2014 - 2017) and natural oak finish. Can anyone comment - were these even imported into Australia? Prefer Brisbane for pickup, but OK to have shipped.
  13. Hi Alberto, I see you've got the Monitor Audio centre (5th Generation). I've got the Silver 6's in Natural Oak, and I'm on the lookout for the matching centre in Natural Oak. When you purchased yours, I don't suppose you recall if Natural Oak was an option? I'm trying to work out if they were ever imported into Australia (and will I ever see one in the classifieds). Thanks, Ben
  14. Hello, I'm Ben from Brisbane. Current setup is a Monitor Audio Silver 6's with an Arcam A38 and HEOS Link HS2 as the main source.
