  1. Back to "normal" on Tuesday. No buffering. In inverted quotes because of the way that it likes to spontaneously log me out every-so-often and can't play an album without track breaks through Chromecast.
  2. I already called Tristan. (He owns Brissie HiFi and Trimira) It's listed on their web page but is not actually in stock. Same for Living Sound. Considering your other idea, above, I've always had good service in the past from the high end dealers letting me borrow demo gear from their showrooms to try at home. (Maybe if you own $45k speakers they cut you an extra bit of slack.....)
  3. I've been trying to get a listen to the M10 and the M33. None of the dealers in Brissie- that I have approached- has one to listen to. (Trimira/ Audio Tailor etc...) The Audio Tailor suggested the Hegel 190 but, as well regarded as they are, I have no interest in any device that doesn't have tone controls or room correction. The new Cambridge Audio EVO 150 also interests me. Like you, my main interest in them is as a front-end feeding a big power amp. Although, the M33 may have enough headroom for the 800s.
  4. I'll be very interested to hear how it sounds compared to the Mac C47 that you have.....
  5. Have you got it directly connected to your router or is it updating via WiFi?
  6. Mine's running through a Chromecast ultra- so no buffer adjustment. But Netflix runs perfectly. Tidal is dropping out inconsistently. It might run okay for 3-4 tracks then only 1. Last time it did this, it would only run for a minute, then buffer. I'm in metro Brissie.
  7. Anyone else having problems with Tidal dropping out this afternoon? My download speed is currently somewhere around 220mbps- so it's probably not NBN for a change.
  8. Hi Samuel, It looks like they come with a 24 mth warranty. Is it still under this? Did you run Tidal though it?
  9. Enjoying the continuing tour of your kitchen appliances. Is that a Sunbeam sandwich toaster? It's always good to chow-down on a toasty while listening to Nicholas Lens and Nick Cave.
  10. I like to listen to good music in my kitchen too......
  11. I don't suppose you have the bluetooth dongle? How do you connect it to Tidal?
  12. Just a suggestion, but you might get more interest if you give it it's full title- CXA80.
  13. Thanks for the replies. Very interested to look at the impedance graph for the 804s. I really didn't expect the low of 2.4 ohms. (Nom. 4 ohms) ( https://hometheaterreview.com/bowers-wilkins-804-d3-floorstanding-speakers-reviewed/ ) I imagine that the 804s won't suck as much current as my 800 D2s- but it looks like they are actually less efficient so that may not be the case!
  14. I think that it's further complicated by the ability for some amps to deliver high "peak" current for short bursts- usually via banks of capacitors. I think that the figures quoted above usually refer to constant watts delivered into a impedance of 8 and 4 ohms.
  15. Not sure if this is the correct location to post this question. There are a few reviews around, but I haven't seen any with reference to the big Bowers and Wilkins. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm specifically interested in it's low impedance capabilities.
  16. I had to do a double-take. This is not the new M33 .....LOL
  17. Did I miss something above? Why did it originally have a US plug? Was it originally a 110V unit?
  18. Hi Dymonds, Didn't your 803s come with a selection of feet? My 800s did.
