  1. Yes but no more than most class A Plinius, you must have read the forum that so many others have been reading I assume. Yes to a remote too. They get very warm, the term hot can easily be used if comparing to other amplifiers. Please see the photos and you will see no evidence that would suggest it is deteriorating a board nor insulation. I do not leave a pile of , magazines on top either though. Breathing space benefits most or all amplifiers as you no doubt know. Thanks for the questions
  2. Further information: I treasure great hifi pieces and this 8150 is prime picking. Factory box, remote, manual and upgraded. The 8150 from new has a few small flaws with design that over time can surface and the Plinius service agent used has rectified these. He also made other mods from his experience of these amplifiers that it now sings with such detail he was reluctant to return it. This unit is always kept in showroom condition, as is my other equipment. I have routine listening time where I utilise my hands keeping things gleaming and functional. If you want to invest in an 8150, one
  3. Yes the house is a mess but the HiFi is always immaculate, a worthy distraction. If you own good kit, its your duty to look after it...a lot went into making good equipment and we get the easy part.
  4. Yes exactly, they are effectively the predecessor to the Tag Mclarens before they were branded after a watch brand and F1 team. I preferred Audiolab as it was, I am also not a fan of Yeezy shoes. Like to think their name was reflective of their purpose but believe the thoroughbred is still good marketing spin aside.
  5. Further information: One classy piece of vintage, this sought-after and rare quadraphonic amp in excellent condition. Well cared for and as per photos, gleaming. Google this unit and there is great opinions of it and discussion on how unique. Note 110V, so please ensure you understand what this means. A buyer would have to explain this to me before I accept a sale. Photos: PLEASE READ If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you are advertising multiple items, you must post
  6. Further information: A powerhouse set up to suit someone upgrading to or building a serious home cinema. New this was $7499 NZD and comes with all manuals, remote and in factory boxes. The 8000X7 can be bridged to a 6 or 5 channel to suit your needs. These are built very well and proved to be a massive upgrade from the generic AVR I previously had. Never would you think that the amplifier would add the true clout of an actual cinema, so much so I had to let the neighbors enjoy watch a few movies of their choice as a compromise for the traveling sound effects. Unfortunately I did n
  7. Hey there What is your budget, I am viewing one this morning but I'm not the only one. I am going for a DAC I want but have been offered MF a1

If you want to invest in an 8150, one that has been loved will reflect in sound and presentation. Will get records out to detail mods if there
  9. Hey Ray Not good to hear that the Linx is sounding muddy. If you do consider starting again please let me know. I have a TA-F410 R that I would be happy to trade, it is still sounding great. Or if you wish to upgrade I also have an Onkyo A-9911. I wanted to part with one of the two amd add a little "kiwiana" to my hifi. Cheers and Happy NY
  10. Thanks, labour of love keeping hifi in good shape. Worst time to put it out there for sale..... give another week and call it as it will still be utilised here. Unless you wish to spoil yourself haha
