  1. Interesting thread. I am now the owner of those fine speakers. I’ve gone along this path for amplification over the past few months: Simaudio Moon 240i -> Sansui AU717 -> Luxman C-03/Sansui AU717 -> Bryston B20/ Sansui AU717. I am using the power amp stage of the Sansui. Happy with result.
  2. Nice. Pre Valhalla and pre nirvana. I’d buy it if i were in WA.
  3. I have a suitable and affordable tonearm for this. Please see my ad
  4. Item: Linn Basik L VV tonearm Location:Sydney Price: 200 Item Condition: good Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This tonearm is coming off a Linn LP12 turntable. Works well. Selling as I have just upgraded. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  5. 50 watts into 8 ohms. I don’t know the rating for 4 ohms.
  6. Item: Simaudio Moon 240i Location: Sydney Price: 2000 Item Condition: like new Reason for selling: upgraded to more powerful amp for recently acquired floorstanders Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: excellent high end integrated amp. Suitable for small to medium sized rooms. This amazing amp has 5 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs and one MM phono input. Ideal if you have space constraints as this has everything you need in one box and it does an excellent job at that. I really like this amp a lot but need more power, that’s all. Remote control is awesome. Cheap entry into exclusive Moon territory. Box included but prefer local pickup. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  7. Item: Luxman C-03B Location: Sydney Price: 500 Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Have not used this since I sold my power amps and bought integrated amps about a year ago. All inputs work. Only issue is the volume control is a little loose which a good technician can fix. Highly regarded vintage pre-Amp: https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/luxman/c-03.shtml Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  8. I am not considering any upgrades to the sub chassis, top plate and the bearing. My view is the money is better spent on a new Lp12.
  9. As an owner of the PF-800, I find the comment that GT-750 blows PF-800 out of the water interesting. In my mind the PF-800 and the legendary LP12 are quite similar in terms of SQ (I own both. Please see the thread I created). I might want to give the GT-750 a try. The PF-800 is a great TT, over-engineered IMO. Weighs more than the 80s LP12.
  10. It's sounding more high end. Bass is taut. There's more detail and the high frequencies are more defined. This has come at the expense of some warmth and the flabby bass is gone. Frankly, if I had a chance to audition the old LP12 with the old circuit board PS and with the Valhala/Hercules PS, I'd probably keep the old PS. Having said that, the power supply is a critical component that's connected to the mains and it's important to bring that part of the turntable to the 21st century.
  11. It probably is. The components are 40 years old. It's a cheap part to replace, I will order one soon.
  12. Photos of before and after Hercules install. Anyone wanting the old power supply board? PM me if you are interested to add some ‘colour’ to your music.
  13. Good power supply. Upgrade not needed
