  11. No worries, forgot to say I'd throw in a dact type pot for volume control. Good luck, plenty of cheap amps out there on the used market.
  12. I have a brand new Bang & Olufsen ice power module for $150 (built in powersupply, 2x 50 watts RMS). Or $175 with switched IEC socket, RCA sockets, and binding posts. Just add your own box/enclosure (used cigar cases work well). Quality is probably well beyond what you need, but price may be right? Flick me a PM if you are interested.
  13. Screws into wood have a tendency to come loose as the timber expands/contracts with changing humidity. Check up on them every 6 moths or so. If they start working loose regularly look as treating the existing screw holes.
  14. Hello. Recommended cabinet sizes: - Sealed 0.5 litres - Ported 1.0 litres tuned to 98hz (1 inch port 15 cm long) - Transmission line - http://coolcat.dk/bjoern/TABAQ_TL_for_TB.pdf If you are using these away from a rear wall you will want to add some baffle step compensation. The transmission line pdf shows the circuit + component values required. Alternatively you can use two woofers per cabinet and have one of them roll off around the baffle step. Let me know if you want more details or flick me a PM if you wish to purchase. Thanks.
  15. I was testing them in a small sealed enclosure and using an eq to bring up the bass (these 3 inch drivers have a healthy amount of Xmax, 7mm peak to peak linear). I'll post up some ideal cabinet designs when I get to work. Thanks.

  17. Thanks guys. Ill Give it a miss and just be content with my HWC timers.
  18. Any potential sonic benefits for home audio?
  19. Just wondering if any electrical engineers out there are willing to comment on the Power Panda Total Saver and what it does? http://thepowerpanda.com/how-the-total-saver-works-2/ "With the Power Panda Total Saver, the voltage and the amps are in sync, meaning that your electrical equipment will operate at maximum efficiency." I've purchased two of the little Power Pandas for hot water cylinders, mostly for the timer, and they were cheapish $100 (each). With the main goal to save money. However if the theory behind the Power Panda Total is sound, it's something I'd happily look into.
  20. Often refereed to as inverted ring radiator by other tweeter manufacturers. Yes they are manufactured like that intentionally. The top firing woofer makes for a more omnidirectional loudspeaker - there's plenty of other manufactures that aim for omnidirectional sound.
  21. Ok cool. If you were needing more I would have flogged off some of mine - don't want to see someone pay $50 for 10x chassis sockets.
