Yes there is. Monoblocks allow you to place the amps right next to the speaker and have as short a speaker cable as possible. Short speaker cables and long interconnects is a better solution. Monoblocks will have no crosstalk. Monoblocks wont share a power supply. -

I disagree that class d sounds fundamentally different as you imply here. Its just very low noise, low distortion, low colouration etc. Class in itself isnt pertinent, performance is. So when you compare that to amps that have (comparitively) high noise, distortion and colouration then you may well hear a difference. I could make a comparison to CD and Vinyl. Funny how most people have got very used to the more "neutral", lower distortion, lower noise, lower colouration sound of digital audio -

I cant comment on your previous Bryston, I havent heard it What does musical mean? Emotion is a property of the listener and not the electronics. Have you noticed how some days you listen to your system and its fabulous, engaging and you cant get enough, and yet some days you just cant get into it and it sounds ordinary and unengaging. Well thats you changing, your emotional state. Its not the system changing its performance. What I mean by "not cold and sterile" is that there seems to be an assumption amongst some that an amp that is without overt "chara -

I think we need to clarify that class d amps do not sound "cold". Having a lack of colouration as might be seen with a tube power amp (due to their high output impedance and resultant frequency response deviations) does not equal cold or sterile, far from it. -

What outperforms means is that it will have its noise outside of the audio band hence its a quieter PSU for the attached circuit. It also means it wont be radiating a large 50Hz electromagnetic field like a toroid. It also means that high power supplies are cost effective, small and dont weigh a 100kg PSUs have to pass Conducted Emissions Tests to ensure they dont put back undue noise into the mains. In any case the mains is noisy and distorted, thats a given. Your "other components" should have adequate supply rejection to cope. Its a design requirement. https:// -

Andy are you still talking about that anecdote? Think we ran through that and the potential reasons in two different forums -

Last time I checked we didn't make an nc400 based amp 😀 BTW the P452 stereo Purifi mentioned earlier is now available. -
Roon simply doesnt re-index all the time. I dont understand where thats come from. I have just timed it starting. Ready to play in under 15 seconds. About 2000 albums, local and Qobuz in the library..
