Hey mate, I’ve never owned a He4xx so take this with a grain of salt, but from what I’ve read the He4xx is warmer/has a bump in the mid bass that can muddy lower mids, less subbass extension, a treble peak/uneven treble comparatively, and inferior imaging and speed. Sundaras are a little cooler/more linear bass across the board, have a much more even treble response, and a slightly smaller soundstage (not too sure about this). I had dt1990’s directly before the sundaras, and I liked the sundaras a lot more. The mids were more intimate and warm, the treble was even/never sibilant, the soundstage was smaller but to me felt more natural. The biggest gripe I had with the dt1990 was how clinical and dry it sounded, especially in the mids. The sundara solved that issue for me, while still providing a cool-neutral signature with fantastic imaging and speed. Hope this helps

My opinion may be biased as I decided on the 600’s after demoing both. The 650’s have a warmer sound sig, with more emphasis on the mid bass and slightly more bass extension vs the 600’s. Whereas the 600’s are quite neutral, with more emphasis on the upper midrange, and more apparent treble but I don’t think the extension differs. Timbre is phenomenal on both, though I found female vocals, guitars and high frequency string instruments (e.g. violin) to sound more accurate on the 600’s while male vocals and lower frequency string instruments (e.g. bass guitar and cello) to be more accurate on the 650’s. Both are mid forward headphones, with relatively small but accurate soundstage and great imaging. From what I’ve heard the 650’s pair amazingly with tube amps. The 600’s low end really improved in quantity and quality when paired to my elemental Watson amp and opened up the soundstage

Are you crazy? It’s a closely guarded family secret, priceless. And Benjet I would’ve if my measuring cup had 1/3 litre increments

Extra Info: Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong section. Interested in picking up a pair of used DT1990’s for $500-600. Haven’t seen any ads up lately so thought I would throw out a line just in case. I’m talking to some sellers in the US but would much rather buy locally. Cheers!

Hello all,
Have been lurking for a couple of weeks, desperately trying to suppress the urge to buy every good deal I see in the classifieds. Like many I fell into the rabbit hole upon researching for a replacement for my broken low-grade over ears. Fast forward 8 months or so, been through 4 headphones, settling on the Meze 99 classics, HD600's and an Elemental Watson tube amp. Very happy with my set up, but nevertheless, I find myself constantly reading reviews and looking for deals, this hobby is ridiculously addictive, I love it. Thank you for your patience if you read through the entire post, I now reward you with a very mediocre photo of my gear. Thanks for having me
