  1. This was mine and as @Gbicklesays it’s a killer DAC for the price - even more so after his upgrades.
  2. it's stopped my DAC Madness (tm) - i'm just really very happy with the way everything sounds with the Abbas gear. Maybe it reminds me of being a teenager in the 90s when these chips were more common, i don't know. But it just sounds 'right'. I wouldn't have discovered this without @MattyW's evangelism so thanks Matt!
  3. Hi all, I've currently got an Abbas DAC U SE (with dual PCM 63K) which I've paired with both a Mutec and with one of Abbas's USB to SPDIF convertors, and I'm waiting for my new 2.3SE to arrive - currently working its way through the Ukrainian postal system. I think the Mutec (just standard, I don't have an upgraded external clock like @MattyW) does have an edge over the Abbas SPDIF unit. Initially it was quite a big step up but I've been running the Abbas SPDIF for the last few weeks and as its now got about 40 or so hours on it, its really opened up. I think the most noticeable
  4. Further information: Digione Signature + Raspberry Pi 3B+ board and Allo's Nirvana PSU - add a case (or be like me and hide it in your rack) and you've got a fantastic streamer for DAC's that take SPDIF input. Selling because i've added one of Abbas Audio's USB -> SPDIF units to my chain so switched to a USBridge Signature player. Shipping Oz wide included in the price. https://www.allo.com/sparky/digione-signature.html https://www.allo.com/sparky/nirvana-smps.html Photos: PLEASE READ If you include any reference to pricin
  5. EL84 in 15WPC, Class AB push-pull, ultralinear, fixed bias, with Hammond 1650E output transformers made for me by Adam from Atrad audio in Wellington, NZ - see https://atrad-audio.co.nz/index.php/matariki-amplifier/ for details about the Matariki line. Each is made to the customers specs so mine has no tone controls as i didn't want them but does have a remote. Delivered in August 2020 and I paid $2500 + shipping + duty/GST. Fabulous sound, got that tube sweetness but still tight and controlled. The only reason for selling is that i've changed speakers due to a fabulous deal but unfortunat

  11. Purchased in November from another SNA member to test with my Kitsune Phono Pre - I found it improved the soundstage but also added some noise to the pre which is normally silent so not a good fit for my system. https://hagerman-audio-labs.myshopify.com/products/piccolo2-mc-preamp The Piccolo is an MC headamp that provides a linear pre-gain for your MM phonostage. The active circuitry uses low noise matched discrete JFETs in a no-feedback gain and buffer configuration, offering very low noise and distortion. The sound is extremely neutral leaving no sonic signature. Bo
  12. Heard these a few months ago at @JulesOz place, fabulous sound with a massive soundstage for speakers of their size. They also look like they have just come out of the box
