  3. I have both of these, and can re-assure anyone considering buying them, the sound and build quality is incredible. I read somewhere on this website, the specs are within a micron of Yamaha's 3000 series... which are more than double the price. Good luck with the sale!
  4. Hmmm, depends on outputs on your amp. If it has two pairs of speaker outputs, I would most likely connect the second set of speaker outputs on your amp to the sub and leave your (higher frequency) speakers directly connected to the amp on the first set of speaker outputs. I would try and avoid having the speaker signal length increased and bypassed through a sub. I recently purchased a sub and was also a tad confused on how best to connect it. Fortunately my amp had pre-outs. I could not use the two sets of speaker outputs because I prefer to bi-wire them to my speakers. The sub made an improvement but it took a while finding the best position in the room. Hope this makes some sense ...but please bear in mind, I am no expert. This is only my opinion.
  5. T'was not me Tried hard convincing the other half on black instead of silver...and missed out on selling my 'as new' A-S1000 with both light and dark wood sides due to the new AS-1100 being sold for a mere $1,799 I'm beginning to question myself.... why am I continually looking for a better system. Enoughism?
  6. Hmmm, where are all the silver ones? Does it still have 5 years warranty remaining? I prefer silver having recently purchased a CDS2100 SACD & TD500 Tuner,. What are you replacing it with? I have a nice MX D1 power amp (500Wx2) with matching YPC1 pre amp.
  7. I can see why you don't need the sub now. It looks like you have CM10s
  8. I managed to find a new one in France on Flea Bay
  9. Item: Yamaha A-S3000 Integrated Amplifier Price Range: Depends on warranty Item Condition: Used or Manufacture Refurbished Extra Info: Must be Silver and a 240V model The new C-5000 & M-5000 will soon be released, so I'm hoping someone may want to upgrade. If interested, I have an A-S1000 in silver with both light and dark wood sides, original packaging, which has had very little use.

  11. A tad confused....do you still have the portability? When you go on holiday, can you take your entire music library with you.. I'm pleased to know that the ipod classic drives can be replaced with a whopping 256Gb SSD and maybe later 512Gb then 1 Tb... just replace the drive and batteries when necessary
  12. Ipod Classic Disks can be replaced at FIXSPOT in Melbourne Level2, Unit 207 125 Swanston Street (Century Building) Melbourne CBD Ph: 03 8395 4136 Cost for $120 GB $180 160GB $200 256GB $250
  13. Hi Everyone, For all those out there still using ipods, I have some good news! They can be upgraded! I have three classics with 160gb hard drives, storing mostly MPEG-4 Audio files (m4a) at 16bit, 44.1Khz with a bit rate of 1,411 kbps These files are large and I now only have 6gb available I connect them via a Wadia Transport dock to the DAC in my Yamaha SACD player, over to two Yamaha amps. Last week, one the drives failed with crc errors but I have since found out, the 160 gb Hard Disk can be replaced with a 256 gb Solid State Drive. Benefits: More space No moving parts Less power, longer battery life Cost $250 fitted
