  1. Item: Curious USB 0.8 or thereabouts Price Range: $290 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: I keep missing these on the classifieds. Time to take matters into my own hands 😊 If you're thinking of evolving or have a cable warming a drawer let me help you partially funding an upgrade by buying your cable from you. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  2. Further information: For sale two Yamaha HS5 powered monitors I got these a few years ago when the Sydney Festival was clearing house, they prob played some cool contemporary soundscape for an exhibition. I have found them to be pretty amazing, they are so linear and clear I find myself playing them quite loud without realising (always when my wife walks in!). Playing around I've set them 5-6m apart in a big room to see how big a soundstage I could get - impressive for small units. I have been using as networked speakers with Roon/Chromecast in different locations around the house (NB you need a streamer for that - not supplied). Fronts and cones are good. They were wall mounted so had some screw holes underneath but overall they're good. If you have a protected outdoor area they are perfect. Moving OS when borders open so not going to take them. These retail for $249 each so a deal here They are heavy little beasts 5.8kg each Size: 30 x 23 x 18cm each allowing for packing Photo here of one, the other has just been packed but if you need to see it I can oblige. I have added a stock image of the rear so you can see layout. Specifications 2-way bass-reflex bi-amplified nearfield studio monitor with 5" cone woofer & 1" dome tweeter 54Hz - 30kHz frequency response 45W LF plus 25W HF bi-amp system for high-performance 70W power amplification ROOM CONTROL & HIGH TRIM response controls XLR and TRS phone jack inputs accept balanced or unbalanced signals Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  3. RELIST AND REDUCED! Further information: This an opportunity to own some HiFi history. Systemdek, of turntable fame, launched a range of high quality speakers and this is the two-way floor-stander model (there was stand-mount and three-way floor-stander). Manufacturing in Scotland (still) the Dunlop brothers from the Systemdek family have now started the ultra high end ART Loudspeaker company. When they launched these were highly awarded by Hifi Choice for their high efficiency and low frequency capability. This is definitely a feature and twin (front) ports help them go deep. Their efficiency makes them perfect for lower powered amps though over the years they have reveled in my higher powered amps and higher resolution digital front-end. I bought these from the distributor looking to open up AU as a market. We listened to them in his hotel room in Manly and I drove away with them (only money was exchanged 🙃). I ended up with speakers that are my favourite bit of kit. To put it in perspective I had Doug Brady HiFi in UK break down another pair and ship me all the parts. Hence this sale is for the original speakers plus spare woofers, tweeters, cross-overs, grills and spikes. These are high-quality cross overs and transducers so would lend themselves to a DIY second set high quality speakers. I am only regretfully relinquishing these because of an impending move OS. Notes: I have tried to photo these so you can see the condition. One speaker has a small fold in the rear top right corner. One speaker driver has some age spots though these don't effect the SQ. I have priced these to allow for the cost of courier (buyer to arrange and pay) alternately I work in St Leonards so happy to drop off anywhere on a straight line between Wollongong and St Leonards. Specifications: Frequency Response 40Hz - 20KHz Output 89db @ 1metre Power Handling 100 Watts Programme Drive Unit : 165mm Treated Paper Cone Bass Mid 25mm Fabric Dome Tweeter Crossover Frequency 3Khz Crossover Type Bass 12db/octave Tweeter 12db/ per octave Impedance 6 0hm Cabinet Bass reflex design constructed from 18mm particle board with twin ports mounted on 25mm MDF base (Spikes go into this) Colour coded bi-wirable input panel with gold plated terminals and bi-wiring facility Colour Mahogany Dimensions H 780mm x W 200m x D 240mm Weight 23kg Photos:

  5. Further information: Putting my Chord Qute HD DAC up here as I am going for a Qutest and need to hide expenditure from my better half! This is a great opportunity to get into Rob Watts bespoke FPGA DAC technology. The DAC supports up to 192khz (384khz via S/PDIF) and DSD via USB. I bought this second hand from Sydney HiFi and have running from my Innuos server via USB without a problem since day one (no drivers necessary). Was recognised by Roon immediately. Awarded five stars from What HiFi and several other publications. Great information and reviews here; Audiostream, Enjoy the Music and Tone Publications I will include the iFi iPower low noise power supply (~AUD80) as well. 6. Further information: I bought these direct from USA last year, they are factory prepared and came in Audioquest retail pack with Audioquest plugs and boots. The banana plugs work with BFA (Linn etc) amp speaker connections. I have a soft spot for these as I went to some lengths to buy them however my new (to me) LS50's don't have biwire plugs. NOTE: these are single to bi-wire cables Rocket 33 is well regarded and awarded as the go-to for bi-wire upgrades and retail new for AUD500-600. Value here. 3m lengths designed for bi-wiring speakers with dual sets of connectors speaker cables with pre-attached banana plugs six solid, pure copper conductors: one 21-gauge perfect-surface copper, one 19-gauge long-grain copper, and one 17-gauge long-grain copper conductor for the treble signal one 20-gauge perfect-surface copper, one 18-gauge long-grain copper, and one 16-gauge long-grain copper conductor for the bass signal PVC and carbon-loaded PE insulations cable labeled for proper direction of signal flow cold-welded silver-plated banana plugs gray/red textile cable cover Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  7. Further information: These came with a high quality micro system (no longer around). When I acquired the system Sony UK had a it's own hifi design studio and I was led to believe the system, including these speakers, was designed there (they were assembled in Taiwan). These are robust bookshelves, heavy for their size (27 X 28 X 16 cm). They have approx 15cm kevlar woofer and a domed tweeter. Ported at the back (top) they also have quality binding posts. The front baffle is bevelled for strength and to improve sound dispersion, the tweeter is mounted in a cool looking molded 'wave-guide' type fitting. These are great speakers for all types of music particularly jazz, rock and female vocals. The bass will surprise you with control and depth. They can easily fill a small to medium size room. They were part of Sony's most expensive micro system (at the time). Given their condition and asking price they represent some fun value. Grills included but have some fade in patches, but leavethem off and relish the cool retro style! No marks or blemishes on cabinets or veneer. Posted at buyers expense. 10. Item: Pioneer N-50A-K Black DAC/Network Streamer includes original box, manual, drivers (CD) and remote control Location: Wollongong, NSW Price: $350 Item Condition: Second hand but much loved, I would consider this perfect condition for a second hand item Reason for selling: I bought this unit as a DAC upgrade to my CD transport I was especially interested in it's high quality power transformer and twin ESS ES9011S SABRE32 Ultra DAC, sadly it has become redundant after I switched to a Chord Chordette HD and Innuos Zen Mini setup Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Component style network audio player that can also act as a high quality digital to analogue converter. USB, Optical, Optical and Coaxial. Interesting ancillary feature is that it can convert USB to Optical or Coax out In lossless (up to 192kHz); WAV AIFF FLAC Apple Lossless (only 96kHz for this one) Plus Direct Stream Digital in both 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz varieties (aka DSD64 and DSD128) The core of the unit is a pair of ESS ES9011S SABRE32 Ultra DAC chips, one for each channel.
