  1. Wow Peter a great and timely response! That is a tribute to Lumin customer service. Looking forward to your findings.
  2. I wonder if either the Lumin or the Aurelic will soon support the new Tidal Connect feature. This would sway my vote.
  3. You said this originally. The 602's have an aluminium domed tweeter. The new 705s have an aluminium domed tweeter coated with carbon. It is possible that adding the carbon has helped the brightness but most likely you will only get a proper neutral sound once you hit the diamond tweeter on the 800 series. Definitely not any of the cheaper Monitor Audio as suggested above, they are even more forward than B&W. It really sounds like you are looking for a speaker with a less forward sounding design. This is an intentional design point with cheaper speakers which are designed to impress with a short shop listen. After people get more experience with sound they tend to move up the range as they start to prefer a more neutral sound. Unfortunately with these bigger brands with staggered ranges, you usually only hit neutral with the highest series. i.e. B&W, Dynaudio, Monitor Audio. Headphones are the same, you can only get a neutral sound once you hit the $300+ mark. You either need to spend big $ on the brand you like or switch to a neutral (ATC) or warmly voiced speaker (Spendor, Harbeth, Rega...)
  4. If Janes Addiction is your thing (as it is mine) I would be avoiding metal tweeters like on the B&Ws and thinking more Spendor, Rega, Harbeth, JBL etc. Paper cones, doped domes!
  5. From the Poly user manual: 7.4 Micro SD card This Poly is able to play back music stored on a Micro SD card via DLNA, UPnP or MPD. 1. Select Other Music Services 2. Insert a Micro SD card into the Poly’s Micro SD slot F . The P-status LED C flashes green when the card is detected. NOTICE  If the Poly does not detect the Micro SD card, insert the card into a computer and make sure it is formatted to ExFat. 3. On your control device, open a DLNA, UPnP or MPD app of your choice (e.g. BubbleUPnP (Android) or 8 Player (iOS). 4. In the app, select the Poly as the audio output. 5. Select a song from the Micro SD card’s directory and begin playback. TIP The Poly supports an unlimited amount of Micro SD storage capacity. https://chordelectronics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Poly-User-Manual.pdf
  6. Looks like you can also use the normal (native) Spotify app with this Bluesound Node so it would show up as one of the devices on your Spotify app. So this Node thing would work with the second function that I mentioned in the earlier post.
  7. And just to add to the confusion I preferred the BT3 for music and the M2 for movies. The BT3 was more balanced and can go louder without distorting. It does have a slight gap in the midband though and the bass is not as good as the M2. The M2 is perfect for TV as the vocals are crystal clear and you can fiddle with the EQ to get the punch you want for movies.
  8. I had the Q BT3 in that setup and it was very good. I currently have the Q M2 soundbase which is also very good. The M2 soundbase and the M3 soundbar have the advantage of having HDMI ARC which will allow you to use your TV remote to control the volume. I am not a fan of having multiple remotes. Both were a massive step up from the TV sound. The BT3 advantage was stereo width and the M2/M3 advantage was the single remote. Just choose which one you value more!
  9. Tidal can do other stuff that Spotify can't do such as sending audio direct from a computer to a DAC bypassing the built-in sound manager (for better SQ). Poly can do SD cards yes but you need to put your own music on there. You cannot download from Tidal onto an SD card. If you did find you liked Tidal SQ better than Spotify I think the best way would be to get one of these and use the optical out into your existing DAC: You have to use a dedicated app for Tidal which are usually not quite as good as the native app but the increase in SQ may be worth it.
  10. I third that notion. Best dealer in Aus. You can buy with confidence.
  11. Hi Mat There are two different functions being talked about here I think. Spotify supports both functions and Tidal only the first function. FIRST FUNCTION The first and most common function is streaming from Tidal or Spotify to a Bluetooth or Airplay speaker. BLUETOOTH If you connect your iphone/ipad to a bluetooth speaker via the bluetooth pairing function then it will play through the Tidal app (no need to click on any speaker icon for this). AIRPLAY - Ensure your iphone/ipad and an Airplay enabled speaker are on the same wifi network - tap the speaker icon in the bottom left of the Tidal app - tap Airplay & Bluetooth - the Tidal app will then redirect to the inbuilt airplay speaker selection (same as swipe up on an iphone/ipad and select the airplay icon in media controls) You can do the same Airplay thing this way https://www.imore.com/where-find-airplay-audio-controls-ios-11s-control-center SECOND FUNCTION - SPOTIFY ONLY The Spotify Connect function (which enables you to play between Spotify devices connected to the same Wifi) is actually much smarter than Bluetooth or Airplay. It not only allows you to play from an iphone/ipad/computer to a Spotify Connect enabled device BUT IT ALSO allows for you to send audio BETWEEN any iphone/ipad/computer on the same Wifi network and logged in to the same Spotify account. This is I think the function you were using with Spotify that you are trying to use with Tidal (but which Tidal cannot technically do). i.e you can send audio to your iphone from your laptop and vice versa with Spotify but unfortunately this is not possible with Tidal. Hope this helps!
  12. I have disassembled it so can't check the width between the posts exactly.
  13. Regarding width between the posts my Bryston had a thumb width either side of the posts and it is 17 inches (432mm).
  14. Just found the documentation. It says verbatim: "Dimensions: 610mm W x 559mm D x 1118mm H Holds up to 80kgs" I would say that that is total weight not per shelf. It does not give any other weight measurement.
