  1. Item: Bluesound Node 2i black Price Range: $600 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: I’m after a black Node 2i in good condition. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  2. Well this is a good DAC. I'd love to compare it to a Denafrips Ares II or Topping D90 but not really got the will or the cash to go down that path. As I said, it's better than the DAC on my streamer but then it did cost 20 times more. I suspect it's a DAC that really shines with high end equipment. My set up is middling (Bryston B60r and PMC DB1i) but still I can hear definite sonic benefits from the Gieseler over my streamer DAC. I've not heard any of the equipment you've got so can't really comment on whether it would be what you're looking for. It also depends if you
  3. Yup. Have both my cd player and also Raspberry Pi streamer running through it. It definitely improves the sound from the cd player. Also better than the DAC hat on the Pi but the improvement is subtle. More depth and resonance, less sharpness. More comfortable? An easier listen.

  5. I'm using the USB out from the Pi to my DAC. It a pi 4 so the usb output is good and my DAC (Gieseler Kompkt) works best with USB input. I did try a HifiBerry Digi +for comparison but to be honest the USB output from the Pi sounded better. I do believe there were issues with the Pi 3 USB audio output but they have been solved with the Pi 4. Something to do with the USB and Ethernet outputs sharing the same channel I think. So the Hifiberry Digi + HAT is now sitting in a drawer waiting for another project. I have a HifiBerry DAC + HAT on my Pi 3 that I'm using as a bluetooth/airplay
  6. The Pi setup was pretty straightforward and works really well. There is a learning curve but not too steep. I chose Volumio as the OS and it does exactly what I need. It's not as smooth or pretty as the BluOS on my Bluesound Node (since sold) but just as functional. My only gripe is if you don't want to use the Volumio web interface (which has issues) you need to buy the app. Still, pretty good. It sounds every bit as good as the Node but then I am using an external DAC so that's to be expected. I also set up a second Pi system as a Bluetooth receiver for my sons old hifi and he's

  8. I've found the Bluos software laggy over the last few weeks. Operations that were immediate are now taking forever both with Tidal and Spotify and there are also various other little irritations. This has been a constant issue on both IOS MacOS. Can't comment on Windows. Funnily enough all fine with files on a connected usb drive. I initially thought it was our permanently rubbish internet but other wifi dependent software seems to be operating as usual. Also no issues using the Tidal or Spotify apps and connecting to the node (2) through them. It seems that something is possibly
  9. Nice set up. I had one of the lower level CA amps and it had a good sound. Also love the Dali Ikons.
  10. I looked into this - I think I read about it as an option on John Darkos site. I can't remember why but I decided against it. Possibly it looked more suited to a bigger set up than mine. Are you using to with just amp/speakers etc? or is it part of a bigger set up. The Toslink out is good though. Several other alternatives such as the Yamaha ones miss this. Anyway, decided to go down the Raspberry Pi route. I picked up a cheap Pi 4 off ebay and also one of these with a case off Ali Express. It'll be fun to see how it all comes together as and when it all turns up. All in all a
  11. Ah - just seen the post from a couple of weeks ago looking for similar. Seems I'm more out of touch with current prices than I thought. Shouldn't have sold mine when I got the Bluesound. Could be time to dip my toes in the world of Raspberry Pie. Anyone else done this?
  12. Item: Chromecast Audio or easy to use/assemble alternative Price Range: $75 and up Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Needed for a second system. I’m willing to pay a reasonable price ($75 is an opening estimate) as opposed to the mad prices on eBay etc.. Also I’d be interested in an alternative such as one of the Raspberry Pie builds
  13. A Chromecast Audio when they first came out. Brilliant functionality for very little money.
  14. Further information: For sale an Astell & Kern SR15 with a genuine Astell & Kern leather case and a SanDisk Extreme 128gb microsd card. I bought this on a whim but am just not using it. I'm also bundling a set of TinHifi T3 IEMs as I don't use them either (another whim). They have an amazing synergy with the SR15. Both the SR15 and T3s are in excellent condition and come with all the original packaging and accessories. The SR15 is a superb DAP with excellent reviews. The bundled T3s are a crystal clear set of IEMs and are quite astonishing given their retail pri
  15. Hi I'm really curious about this DAC. How would you describe its sound? Best Mike
  16. I used to have a pair of these beauties a while back. Every now and again I really miss them even though my current speakers are 'better'. A wonderfully clear sounding speaker and that ribbon tweeter really is special. I can totally recommend these. GLWTS
  17. Further information: A Gieseler Klein II DAC for sale as I'm moving further up the Gieseler food chain if this sells. It's such a good DAC that I won't be heartbroken if it doesn't. Saying that I do believe, in true StereoNet tradition, that it's time for this beauty to move on to its next host. I upgraded to this from an Arcam irDac ii and the step up in quality was significant. It also annihilates the internal dac in my Blusound Node 2. Some chat about it here from other StereoNet users. It comes with supplied remote and power supply and, cosmetically, i
  18. Agree with all the above comments. I had some of the smaller stand mount Ikon 1s and they were superb speakers. The ribbon tweeter was something special. Given I'm looking for some floor standers, if these were in Melbourne I'd be round like a shot. GLWS
  19. I've not tried Rotel but bought a second hand Cambridge Audio AM10 a few years back, sort of their budget model at the time, to replace a NAD D3020 which self-destructed. For the price, a really nice amp and surprisingly, to my ears, a definite improvement on the NAD. Then went from that to an Arcam FMJ A28. Lovely sound but maybe lacking a bit in excitement. I replaced that with a Bryston B60r which, again to my ears, is in a totally different league. All were way south of $5k although were bought second hand. The Bryston is around $5k or just above these days. In ter
  20. Further information: A Gieseler Klein II DAC. Needs no introduction here. I’m selling this with a bunch of other stuff as I’m downsizing from separates to an all in one solution due to family/space demands. Definitely going to regret it but there you go. I upgraded to this from an Arcam irDac ii and the step up in quality was astonishing. Comes with supplied remote and power supply. I don’t have the original box but it will be safely packed for transport. Photos: PLEASE READ If you include any reference t
  21. Further information: I bought this direct from Schitt a few months ago. It’s a great bit of kit and surprisingly effective. I’m downgrading to an all in one so this little thing is now surplus to requirements. 23. I've got a B&O A2 which has a really good sound (but less than stellar battery life) and I've read good thing about the B&O P6. My son has a JBL Charge he swears by. It's not bad at all and comparatively cheap. I did have a Bose Soundlink mini many years ago which, while not bad, was not in the same league as the A2 that I eventually replaced it with. Also heard very good things about the Dali Katch but not seen one for sale for a while.
  24. Item: Peachtree Audio decco125 Sky or NAD c368 with BluOS module Price Range: Up to $1.25 k depending on which one, what sort of condition etc though open to suggestion Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Looking to downsize from an ever expanding separates system which, if I can sell the Bryston B60r amp, will open up the door to an all in one solution which would far better suit where I live and listen. Focused on these two as both have inbuilt DACs, streaming capability and, while not up to the level of my Bryston, will still sound good
  25. Further information: For sale a set of B&O Beoplay E8 3rd Gen true wireless ear buds. I bought them as new about a month ago on a whim but unfortunately they don't quite meet my needs as my ears are just the wrong shape. They have hardly been used, maybe once or twice, have been thoroughly cleaned and are pretty much in as new condition with all the original accessories (several sets of silicon tips, one pair of Comply foam tips (used but cleaned) and proprietary B&O USB C charging cable).
