  4. Please let me know if you do get them set up. I would love to have a listen
  5. That's this turntable, not my ad though just helping fix it.
  6. Where did you see that one advertised? Another guy i spoke to mentioned they had issues. If it is a common issue with this TT you would think that for the $450 they're asking they could upgrade that centre plastic to a metal or wood material. I am still hopeful that Marley will supply a replacement. At least earning them some praise. It is an entry level unit but $450 is not cheap.
  7. I think the clunking was because the centrepin had receded too far in as the plastic was stopping it from getting pushed down too far. Once the plastic broke it could go down further so the plate was getting caught when it was rotating as it was too low. Now i have worked that out i just need a part or create something to hold it in place and not let it drop in again!
  8. The platter was clunking around. I think it was chugging but not spinning smoothly.
  9. Yes it is. I attached a picture. Its a lot different to the drive setup on my TT. The plastic was rattling around inside from the base of the centrepiece. When i took the back off it looked as though the hoop ring was not being secured anymore to the base of the centrepin. Not sure what that's for. Will try and get a replacement plastic centrepiece from Marley or superglue it if that fails. I am just not familiar with how this setup works.
  10. Hi, My friend has a Marley TT which has stopped working. It's 3 years old and so we investigated and found the plastic had broken off inside the record player. I was wondering if someone with more experience with this could offer any advice on how to repair it? I have sent an email to Marley to see if they can provide a replacement piece of plastic for the centre piece. Also not exactly sure what the purpose of the little wire metal circle is is it for grounding? I believe it goes on the base of the metal insert in the centrepiece and the original plastic had a lip that held it in contact with the metal for some purpose? Cheers Al
  11. Hi , I am currently using a Project RPM 3 Carbon with a Cayin A55TP amp and some JBL 3412 studio monitors and i like the sound a lot. I have spoken to more experienced audio folk who suggested upgrading the cartridge from the silver it shipped with and getting a separate phono-stage rather than using the inbuilt one on the Cayin. My question then is as well as these 2 upgrades is there any specific upgrades to the RPM 3 turntable or power source even that i should be considering that might improve the sound. I have noticed when i turn the fans off in certain rooms this is picked up by the amp? Not sure if that's because of the circuit that the fans are on is shared by the AMP or some other phenomenon.
  12. Hi everyone, I've been using Stereonet for a few years in the background. I am currently listening to vinyl using a Pro - Ject RPM with a Cayin tube AMP AT55TP and a pair of JBL 4312 studio monitors. I am also running a separate system in another part of the house with an April Music Groove AMP hooked up to a pair of QUAD 11L's I use this with a digital output from a ASUS Xonar soundcard. I have a record collection which varies from 70's Pink Floyd, Led Zep, to current Mastodon, Deftones... I listen to a lot of 90's stuff. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, NIN, Nirvana, Metallica, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, The Black Keys to mention a few. I also like electronic bands Orbital, Prodigy, Aphex Twin. Despite my taste being quite typical i will also listen to anything from a curiosity perspective. I have a fair bit of obscure vinyl that gets played from time to time especially the old 60's 70's stuff. Uriah Heep, Jefferson Starship, Siouxsie and the Banshees. I have purchased most of my equipment from another stereonet user who has been really helpful to me and that's probably the reason i have continued using the forum. Thanks Kelossus!
