  2. Did you activate ‘external speakers’ via the Viera app when you tried HDMI 2?
  3. Looking to add a sound bar to my Panasonic TH-P60ST60A. It’s an oldie but still a goodie. Does anyone know for sure if using the TV’s HDMI 2 (ARC) will pass through DD 5.1 to the sound bar if watching a HD FTA channel from a Fetch box connected to the other HDMI inputs?
  4. Further information: Diamond 8.4 x 2 tower speakers, Centre Diamond 8, Diamond 8.1 surrounds x 2. They play just fine. Cosmetic issues include some lifting of the veneer as shown in pictures. Grille cloth on towers have some pilling and one of the tweeter dust covers is dented. Surround stands included. Prefer to sell as a set. 5. Thanks StuDog, that makes sense. Sounds like I’m going to need to get to know my local HiFi shop guy to see what they’ll let me take home for a test run.
  6. The thing is though that I’m not hearing any noise. Or maybe I’m not listening correctly? Quiet passages in the music are very silent (black?), highs are smooth, bass is clean etc. I would like to try a network bridge to see what that’s like.
  7. I’m near Parramatta but unfortunately I don’t know anyone that has one.
  8. Thank you Steffen for the digital null test track. I played the file and turned up my amp to my normal listening level on the volume knob...nothing. I kept going and turned up the volume to where I rarely go...nothing. I turned it up to max volume and when I stick my ear up against the speakers I could hear the slightest buzz. Does that mean that I've got a nice clean system and therefore don't need any type of USB signal clean up device? Or, as @lenticularis suggests it's more than just noise pollution, I may gain some SQ by introducing one?
  9. PM sent, thank you! I’ll test in the morning.
  10. That’s right Steffan, I’m trying to understand the role of a USB isolator and wether or not I need one. A null track? Never heard of that but it makes sense so I’ll track one down. Any clues as to where to look? Thanks.
  11. I’m using a MacBook Pro running Audirvana connected to my Denafrips Ares II DAC via USB. When all the equipment is on but not playing and I turn the amplifier volume to maximum I don’t hear a thing, no buzz, hiss or hum. Does that mean there’s no noise or pollution in my signal path or is there more to it than that? Regards, Don
