  1. First home theater

A little progress .. finally I did go with 120” 16:9 .. I almost brought 120” cinema scope but change my mind after I experience the image on the wall. Now in hunt for the right cables 12awg gauge for speakers and carbon series hdmi for cabling .
  2. First home theater

haaha Yes I'm but not to compromise the quality of the setup. Perhaps should consider the points mentioned. slowly making my mind to go with 16:9 120'' so it even helps to move further away to ac vent. (120'' 3.6m throw distance). any idea on the device for sound calibration, also projector calibration !! to be honest I did tried to change the colours but didn't felt good about it so reset back to original which are all in 50 level. I know this may not suits every room according to the light. but some how noticed all colours as is. do you guys recon calibrate ?

a rough diagram to understand the setup. (picture speaks better) speaker new 1/new 2 are the better posistions? also may be I need to push the furniture a bit close to screen to feel rear speakers.
  4. First home theater

Yes I do, we are sitting at 4m distance to screen and very comfortable viewing 2.88m wide display ( 130'').
  5. First home theater

Thanks guys, I guess time to see how the sound waves emit out from speaker, so I can understand how much room should I have to allow to breath properly. I guess I need to reopen the Harman Kardon manual to see this, if not their support. I guess the setup that comes with the speakers are not accurate, last time when I did a auto test, the configuration it picked up was wrong ( speaker distance and decibels). I see there is a professional device which lets provide this configuration for a good surround effect. Any idea about the device? I was almost had a call on my mind about the projector screen to go with scope, but again I'm down now. ( in terms of pricing getting ST MX120 16:9 for $860, ST MX120 2.35:1 for $980)... not entirely sure which one to pickup!! http://screentechnics.com.au/products/projection-screens/fixed-screens/cinemasnap-matrix-white#specifications according to this to accomodate 2.88 display I believe the best one to go 120'' cinemascope or 125'' 16:9 ( 2.77 m wide display). Note that wall is 3.7m. P.S This subject is a bit confusing, still going back to starting position !!

I have noticed about eco mode. so you recon on a 3.7m wide wall if I leave atleast 35cm on both sides to the walls will be enough for fronts. ( most of the fronts are within 30cm wise I believe ) i dont think I can get 120” display with 3m throw distance. As per Epson a minimum of 3.6m is for 120”. this PJ has blanking feature, this basically move the lens either side ( top, bottom, left, right) no shifting it’s basically trim the image means if I have 16:9 watching CinemaScope with this blanking I can relive those extra noise on the top and bottom. This way I can avoid the extra bars appearing. But I didn’t tried this on a projector screen yet.. because those black borders might make difference. still confused scope or 16:9 !!!
  7. First home theater

With a throw distance 4m ( projector lens to wall), I'm getting 2.88m wide display with 1.67m height. that left me 37cm on each side. my satellite speakers are only 12cm wide. Do you guys recon the speaker to the wall should have much gap as per the sound theory? If I go maximum screen that wont leave much room for the front speakers on the wall !!! should be ok or not? Oops I need to consider the bezel which will be 8cm means 16cm out. What do you guys suggest 120'' or 125'' or 130''?
  8. Everything is in title. Confused about the screen material now. Can get $1k range both the screens, can you suggest which one is good for 4K projector and why ? Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. 133 inch fixed screen

how did it go mate? which screen did you go and any reviews? I'm on the same boat.
  10. Took some time and played well with the projector, such an awesome projector, totally amazed. Its been over a month that I own 9300 projecting onto wall. any thoughts on masking. because netflix tv shows are in 16:9 I have to stick with 16:9 and at the same time I need 2.35:1 screen. I have seen some with the dual setup not a fan for motorized screens. So I will need to find some options for masking.
  11. First home theater

I was playing the content from Netflix using AppleTV. yes I could not notice any black bars. I will keep an eye. by the way am I correct that lens do adjust on its own by zoom In/out based on the content? are that smart? or am i missing

Thank you, I will be getting the the screen. I didn't know about goo paint. But still want a screen fibre glass. It's just how big the screen is the question I'm facing at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks everyone, I have got the projector to give a try. still working out on the placements and PJ size. between the projector is awesome. can't expect beyond. because the room is bright, the light is reflective and making the full room bright, when I projected the apple TV its just like a mac screen. I'm loving it. TW9300 awesome. I'll give a few days on the wall without mounting the projector and speakers, once I found the best place for projector and speakers will be getting screen. oops I almost forget. I noticed the screen aspect ratio kept adjusting automatically, I mean based on the content, the screen keeps changing to cinemascope & 16:9 . not really sure working on the screen size with this. but it looks amazing when the lens auto adjust to the content playing. or I may be wrong technically but I noticed this behavior with TW9300.
