  1. Might wait until after I replace the lamp then its a ceiling install and was already on the shortest throw for my old X35.
  2. I have my N5 at the shortest throw possible and, at 3406hours, still has plenty of brightness adjustment remaining ... this is on a 92 inch screen, professionally calibrated around 1200 hours. I’m on firmware 3.10 and am trying to decide if I should go to 3.50 ... my concern is loosing the calibration settings. Can someone who has upgraded tell me if it resets the gamma and colour settings?
  3. Light output is way better than my old x35 at the same hours ... I am at 3285 hours.
  4. Do you have the 3D emitter plugged in? I pulled mine out when I first got the bars as the menu looked like 3D had kicked in ... I haven’t had the bars since. I just plug it in when needing 3D.
  5. I have had two Elektra’s and have been very happy with them ... A HD2 is on my list one day soon
  6. I’ve only watched Ragnaroc in 3D on my N5, but the image was outstanding, clean and sharp with no need to adjust crosstalk. It is a substantial improvement in 3D performance over my X35 ... much brighter, so much in fact that I watched most of it on low lamp. the N5 does require each input and 3D to be calibrated to look it’s best ... OOTB settings are seriously overcooked for most things except 4K HDR. The other curious thing to report is that my old JVC 3D glasses, and cheap LG ones, work fine ... so reports of the polerisation changing must have been a bug and fixed in updated firmware.
  7. I have had no need to try the Beta version. It took me just on an hour to measure all four profiles (one stereo only) in a 5.1 system. It is pretty fast IMHO
  8. Genesis = way better than ARC2, and I was very happy with it. Genesis has even more clarity and seems to have way better bass control/filters
  9. I think you may have a fault with the network card, mines been fine and the one time I did have a problem a reset fixed it up fine. Just make sure to save your settings, then reload them ... easy peasy 30 second job
  10. In my case I ended up replacing with the standard chip ... the pro chip stopped working all together... bluraychip.dk [or whatever it is] ignored my emails for 3 months, then finally responded and sent new standard chips.
  11. Early reports over on AVS are very good. It seems Genesis is a nice improvement over ARC2. I have been seriously impressed by ARC2 on my AVM60, so am quite interested to hear how Genesis can improve on it.
  12. From the Anthem FB page: Our Software engineers are feverishly working on the final testing of ARC GENESIS! Be sure to keep checking anthemav.com this Friday, as the link will be ready to download this next level in advanced room correction software!
  13. I think it is to frustrate Grey Markets and make it difficult for consumers to claim they didn’t know they’d bought an OS model that has no warranty.
  14. I wonder if this is the Yellow Whites that some have reported with Tone Mapping on?
  15. So ... have JVC/KENWOOD halted distribution in Australia? The trickle seems to have dried to none at all?
  16. So, given the comments, how’d you go with lifting it in place? I’ve always done mine with 2 people, just in case, ladder and platform either side to get the PJ within easy lift height ... it always ends up at shoulder height as the roof gets in the way LOL! The peerless mounts are pretty hard to get wrong and pretty stable once the fitting is slid together ... but these are a new level in size and weight.
  17. Yes ... see the earlier quote from AVS ... 2/3 had problems it would seem ... patience and clear instructions are always the key.
  18. Hmmm I’m referring to my own experiences years ago with 3D needing firmware updates and the unit having to be returned to them ... a massive PIA if you were hundreds of k’s away from a service center.
  19. Hmmm ... but will the Australian Importer let us update our own units? In the past they have insisted on a return to base for updates.
  20. What mount did you order? I currently have a Peerless JVC mount that *should* work well, but the N5 is close to its maximum weight capacity.
  21. X35 specs https://www.ivojo.co.uk/projector-spec.php?pid=JVC_DLA-X35 N series specs https://eu.jvc.com/files/catalogs/eu/NX9N7N5-catalogue/11/index.html
  22. Yes if I recall correctly ... I posted the spec a few pages back. I was comparing dimensions, throw, shift and zoom and concluded an N5 should be a direct swap for me on a short throw of about 3 m
