  1. Hello, which of these items are still for sale? I am mainly after the sub. it seems that it has been modified/customised? what exactly has been done to it? Can you please upload some pictures. Thank you. (PM Sent too)
  2. Hello, firstly, I hope this is the right place for this question. after reading the topic about dual subs being a decent improvement, it ha me wondering what the cheapest dual sub, as in proper dual sub out and the technologies that support its implementation, not that I fully understand it (can someone explain that too please) and how I do tell one from the other? I imagine the hierarchy of AVR models would go 5.1, 7.1, 9.1 then go 7.2, then 7.2.X for atmos only on the highest of models. Is this correct? in summary, at what price point do the real dual sub supporting AVRs start at? Thank you, apologies for the noob questions.
  3. Hello all, so I have a Denon Xr1000, which I bought a few years ago, I'm not really looking to upgrade it, when I do I'll go for a mid range AVR. But I am wondering if you knowledgeable folk, for the pure sake of being a nerd and some self interest, could tell me what has changed on the entry level AVR;s over these last few years. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the links. Please excuse my annoying and nooby questions. So basically the 103 has really good dvd upscaling, lots of things for 3D, plus streaming services? 83 has no 3D, no streaming services and decent dvd upscaling? Do both play MKV files? and how much better would you say the up-scaling is on the 103? Audio capabilities seem the same?
  5. Whats the difference between the 2 models, the 83 is an 09 model, the 103 is 2012?? Still in the process of researching this stuff. What can one do that the other can't? Edit: Physical dimensions, for some reason couldn't find them on there site?
  6. Thanks for the reply, I am certainly keen on buying some good quality speakers. However, what sort of centre and rears would be the equivilent, I imagine then they would cost a fair bit to? I am all for saving money in the long run though lol, but these things start to take chunks out of the bank balance. Plus the cost of a receiver (and not sure how power amps etc work). Thanks for the link to the Oppo drive. Anyone else got any speakers up for grabs?
  7. Whoops forgot about budget lol. I was after bookshelf/stand mounts for the fronts for now, ideally for around $500. Then finish off with floorstanders/centre later. But any offers of floor standers I'm open to as I could certainly stretch the budget a bit, then I'd get rear speakers later on. If that makes sense. Thanks for the offer mate, that is a good deal, but probably more than I'd like to spend at this moment. Not sure if I want to jump upto that level yet. As then I'd need my other gear to be on that level lol, which I imagine would cost a lot. I'll give you a shout if I'm gonna splurge though, what colour were they?
  8. Hey brahs , Firstly, I just want to say I'm very excited to be entering the world of Home Theater gear. I recently bought a Panasonic P60S60 (no need for smart/3D) and looking for some audio gear to pair up with it. As you can probably tell, I am a beginner so, I have no gear currently. What I am looking for is just a pair of speakers. 2.0 as a starter, open to anything if someone happens to be getting rid of a set up at a good price. Probably after bookshelf/stand mount, and these speakers will eventually end up being rear speakers. I live in adelaide, so will probably end up buying the rest of the gear from (Edward?) from Adelaide/ascension speakers, as it seems very band for buck. I also have no AV receiver, but will get one after speakers are worked out (thats what we do?, buy an AV to match speakers, not speakers to match AV?). I also have no Blu ray player, but might end up the cheapest one I can find, since I haven't researched them(oppo) a whole lot., Thanks for any offers/suggestions.
