Coincidentally, these are the ones I ended up buying. Elite active noise cancelling. They are excellent. No connection issues, sufficient sound and decent app. Makes you think how Sony could have released such a terrible product. Wasnt even ready for public release IMO

I've had the Bose Soundsport free for a few weeks now, awesome in ears! They have cut out a bit but not often enough to be a problem. They have very short Bluetooth range though. I got them because they don't insert all the way into your ear canal, which means they are comfortable to wear for longer. No noise cancelling though and you get wind noise which is annoying. Sound quality is pretty great I must say!

Yeah my colleagues at work are using these. I might give them a shot..

I like connecting my favourite earphones to a tiny bluetooth player like Fiio BTR1/BTR3 or Earstudio ES100. They have a better DAC than most bluetooth earphones/headphones and you can just use any fancy earphones/headphones which has a 3.5mm plug. Not exactly wireless but I would rather not having the bluetooth receivers in my ears. If your earphones/headphones have detachable cables, you can probably get shorter cables.

Hi gt1482, thanks for responding. Unfortunately I want to go full wireless/cordless. Cheers

  5. Hi Guys,

So recently I purchased some Sony WF-1000X true wireless noise cancelling headphones.

And let me tell you, 3 days in I have had nothing but an awful experience. Sound cutting in and out straight out of the box. Signal ping ponging between left and right.

Its such a shame because if not for the connectivity issues, these would be perfect (for my work commute)

Does anyone have any experience with these types of headphones? Or even better, a recommendation ?

  6. Item: Epos Epic 5 Floor Standers
    Location: Erskineville, Sydney
    Price: $625
Item Condition: 2nd Hand. Excellent condition.
    Reason for selling: Have upgraded
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash,  COD Only
    Extra Info:
Selling these awesome speakers, as I went down the path of active speakers (LS50W). I never had a chance to fully enjoy them, as I always used underpowered AV receivers instead of a proper integrated amp and pre-amp. I have all the kit included such as 2 x sets of grills (cloth and audiophile), as well as spikes and grill removal tool.

Here is a link to their review http://i.nextmedia.com.au/avhub/australian-hifi_reviews_2012_2012-03_epos_acoustics_epic_5_loudspeakers_review_lores.pdf

I'd wait and see if you can pick up a second hand Rega 2 or 3, i bought my Rega planar 2 for $150, you could put an ortofon 2mred or blue new for your budget, this may keep you going for many years, i came down from a Linn Sondek so don't worry about the naysayers, still enjoying my music

Yeah this is what I think i'll do. Appreciate the great advice all.

  8. Hi Guys,

So I am looking into an entry level TT.  At the moment, I have whittled my selection down to the Audio Technica LP-120 or Rega Planar 1 (+ additional Rega phono stage).

My preference is the Rega P1, but the thing is, I can get the LP-120 at a considerable discount - $445.

Aesthetically the P1 suits my overall kit, but at some point budget weighs into the equation.

Any thoughts to assist me in my decision?

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Item: Rega Planar 2
    Price Range: To be negotiated
    Item Condition: New or Used
Extra Info: Have been looking intro entry level TT's and this seems to hit the mark. Can pay cash or transfer. Pickup from Sydney preferable.

  10. Item: Denon AVR-X1400H 7.2 Channel 4K Network AV Receiver
    Location: Erskineville, NSW
    Price: $520 ONO
    Item Condition: Near New
Reason for selling: Downsized to 2-channel
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, COD Only
Extra Info: Hi Guys. Looking to sell my AV receiver as I recently downsized to 2 channel stereo. This AV receiver has served me well with no issues. Included is the remote, Audyssey mic, stand and all manuals etc.  Specs can be found on the Denon website. I'm sure I don't need to handfeed the stereo.net.au community ;) Pick up only and cash. If you have any questions, feel free to fire away. Cheers, Stockholm

I'd def suggest to go to Lifestyle Store, Apollo, Audio Connection.

Thanks Bunno. Yes Apollo is my go to and is actually where I bought my Epics. I planned to drop in today and have another listen to the Kef's. At the moment, I've whittled it down to the CXA60 and the Kef actives. Thanks for your help.

  12. Hey Bunno,

    Mate this is sage advice.

Interestingly, that is a good point in relation to TV / audio codecs. I was speaking to the guys at Addicted to Audio in Newtown, and they warned me about the same thing. Apparently a fair amount of Netflix content is hard coded in Dolby.

You know, I still find myself obsessing about the Kef LS50 Wireless, and that detail in the highs.

Living in inner Sydney, space in my apartment is limited so trading in or selling the Epos's might be the go..
