  1. Agreed, these are very well priced and you will no doubt regret letting them go. I love my Soniques (6.5 SE) and can't imagine what I'd replace them with... Hmm, I wonder what the 7.5's might offer over the 6.5's... Good luck with the sale.
  2. Thank you so much for the heads up - less than 8 bucks for a double LP shipped... that's a good deal in my book. And Play is a great album, making it a great deal.
  3. Depending on what your use case is and which features draw you to the Yamaha, if you are open to an English amp, there is a very well priced Rega Elicit-R on eBay at present. The drawbacks that I can see for you: 1. it is located in Darwin, not Sydney, 2. it is black (you can have any colour you like, as long as it is black), 3. It is not multizone, as I believe the Yamaha is, and 4. It has basic appearance (no VU meters). As reported at http://www.rega.co.uk/elicit-r.html, power output is 105W into 8 ohms, and 162W into 4 ohms. There are many positive reviews of the Elicit-R on the web. It has just had a price drop to $2000 (new price in Australia is mid $3000's), so even with shipping, it is in the middle of your price range. You can see the Rega at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/193102455655 I have no relationship to the seller, have simply been watching it while I try to raise some funds. Cheers, Nick
  4. Wow, first thing I saw was an Atari 400... that brings back memories! I have a SR5200 and agree the Marantz AV Receivers are very solidly built and quite versatile units. Good luck with the trade - I hope someone is able to add to your collection of vintage computer gear!
  5. They look superb, in my opinion they are a bargain at the asking price. Good luck with the sale.
  6. In the next week or so, I was intending to advertise a black Vincent PHO-8 that I bought on SNA in March: I'd like to sell it for what I paid ($280). I'm happy to provide photographs, although they will probably look just like the one's Orca posted in his classified. I paid $20 to ship it to Adelaide from Perth, so would hazard a guess it will be similar to ship it from Adelaide to Brisbane, but if this PHO-8 is of interest to you, please PM me your post code and I'll provide you with an accurate shipping cost. FWIW, I'm looking to sell it because I'd like a phono stage with MC loading options and have purchased a Rega Fono MC. Cheers, Nick
  7. That's fabulous news, Dave, I'm so glad that you'll be listening to the Thiels soon. Cheers, Nick
  8. Their eBay store can be found at https://www.ebay.com.au/str/addictedtoaudio
  9. Addicted to Audio are having an Autumn / Pre-Easter sale and I thought that fellow SNAers might find it of interest. See their website (https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/pre-easter-sale) for all the details. There appear to be some good savings to be had, some items that caught my eye: - Clear Audio Concept MM Turntable Wooden Finish for $2388 (https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/pre-easter-sale/products/clear-audio-concept-mm-turntable-wooden-finish), - Lehmannaudio Silver Cube MM/MC Phono Stage for $2888 (https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/pre-easter-sale/products/lehmannaudio-silver-cube-mm-mc-phono-stage), and - Grado Labs Ref Series Master1 4.0mV Phono Cartridge for $1015 (https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/pre-easter-sale/products/grado-labs-ref-series-master1-4-0mv-phono-cart-half-inch-mount). I'm not associated with them, just a subscriber to their mailing list.
  10. Wish I had the funds, I'd be in the car and on my way to Melbourne. Good luck with the sale.
  11. I'd like to confirm whether you are looking for a local sale only, or are you willing to ship these speakers?
  12. I have a Rega Planar 3 (2016) with a Denon DL-301 Mk II cartridge, connected via a Lehman Audio Black Cube Statement to a Marantz SR5200 AVR, which drives a pair of Mission 737R speakers for stereo listening. I'd like to set up a stereo only system and am considering purchasing a secondhand Rega amplifier. There was an Elicit-R for sale at a great price on StereoNET recently, but I was short on funds at the time and I missed out. There is another one for sale at present, but it is not within my budget. I found a Rega Mira for sale on eBay at present (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rega-Mira-Amplifier-Amazing-sound-in-perfect-condition/113490155034). I believe it is a second generation Mira 2000, manufactured between 2000 and 2002. I would appreciate any advice on: - whether the asking price ($750) is too high (I feel it is, as a couple of Mira 3's have been advertised on StereoNET in the last couple of years for under $500 and this example doesn't include original manuals, packaging, or remote, and it appears to have been for sale for quite a while), - is the Mira 2000 a reasonable amp (I have seen comments indicating the 2000 was possibly not as good as the original (clamshell) and third generation Miras and according to the timeline on the Rega site the 2000 was only produced for two years, making me wonder if there is anything in those comments), - is there anything specific to look out for with the Mira's, and - did the Mira become the Elicit-R (there seem to be some similarities, such as the LED illumination around the volume control)? Many thanks for any advice you can offer.
