  1. Item: 2 x stereo pairs of Van den Hul RCA plugs
    Price Range: market value
    Item Condition: New or Used
    Extra Info:

    Hi guys

I need to shorten a Van den Hul D102 Hybrid Halogen free cable and need 2 x pairs of RCA plugs. I can't find any Van den Hul RCA plugs locally (and prefer not to buy international and wont use ebay for this purchase) so am reaching out. I also need to buy the cable but will create another topic for it.

    Thanks, Mark

  2. Item: 2 pairs of Van den Hul D-102 III Hybrid halogen free interconnects with RCA plugs @ 0.3m + 0.5m
    Price Range: Market value
    Item Condition: New or Used
Extra Info: I require 2 pairs of short interconnects, one pair around 0.3m and one pair around 0.5m so I can insert a switcher box into the mix (... you guessed it all the interconnects in the current system are van den hul D102 IIIs). PM me if you can help out.

    Cheers

  3. saw the I45s demoed at the hifi show - they sounded fantastic (even in the noisy chaos of the show). imo these outperformed most other setups with exceptions such as the atcs, spendors and sonus faber (saw everything except the harbeths) but look at the price difference!

(if my Heresy IIIs die I'll buy a pair)

    good luck with sales

    Hi Markgug,

I hope you have been enjoying your tube amp as much as I have been enjoying mine.  In the above photo I had my tube amp paired with Paradigm Studio 100's which are high sensitivity (92dB) floorstanding speakers. It sounded great.  However for practical and versitility reasons I have now moved my tube amp into my office and it is paired with new Paradigm Premier 100B bookshelf speakers. Still sounds great but, as you would expect, can't quite compete with the Studio 100s.

I am not familiar with the Klipsch Heresy's but being Klipsch I would guess they may be horn loaded and have a high sensitivity which would seem to bode well for pairing with your tube amp.  Good luck.

It's a pity your not getting the same experience but yeah understandable. I've just got my Heresy's and if they don't work out I'll check out the 100's. Cheers, Mark

Check these out, designed for amps like yours. Ad has expired but speakers may still be available for sale. The Spatials will go a lot lower than the Heresy in the bass dept.

These look fantastic. I've just received my Heresy's but I'll definitely look out for them. Cheers.

Well, I’m a complete novice when it comes to tube amplifiers but have read a lot about them over the years (which may feed into a bias below).  Recently I had a great experience in purchasing a Bewitch integrated tube amp from a fellow SNA member who was very helpful.  Well today

    the amp arrived.

This evening, with much trepidation on my part as it is the first time I have ever connected up or used a tube amplifier, I set it up in accordance with the sketch plan helpfully sent tome (and with gloves for the tubes).  It substituted for my Musical Fidelity M6si (which I love) and was bi-wired to my Paradigm Reference Studio 100s. I connected it to my Oppo UDP (I don’t have at home a quality external phono stage) and put on a SACD of Dave Brubeck’s Take 5 album.

Absolutely superb. Awesome.  I’m trying to be objective but I truly believe the sound is warmer and more natural with more timbre and sibilence. I had to increase the volume higher than I might on the MF for less of a return on volume but more I believe on richness and presence.  Now enjoying afresh Keith Jarrett’s Koln Concert.

To me, and my wife, a great looking piece of audio. Can’t do the magic justice, but some photos to give an idea.

Congratulations on your amp - looks fantastic and I bet it sounds sensational.

I'm new to tubes too and just received my Dared VP-845 from an SNA member this morning. I'm curious about what speakers you are using. I'm considering a pair of Klipsch Heresy's but am also considering what my options are.

  7. Hey all, I’m after a pair of very good Heresy IIIs in cherry or possibly the Capitol limited edition Heresy in blonde (if the price is right!). Obviously consecutive serial numbers essential.

Preferred if they come with original boxes (but this is not a deal breaker).

Can collect if in Melbourne or 100kms radius otherwise posting will be necessary.

If you can help PM me with photos and we’ll take it from there.

    Thanks!

  8. Thought I'd best post so I can contribute!

Just entering the domain of dulcet tones and hifi. Recently purchased a Pro-ject 10 Evo and Dared VP-845. Thinking of a Sumiko Blackbird with a pair of Klipsch Heresy III's to complement. Any thoughts or advice welcome!

    Cheers
