  1. Further information: I chose this new model McIntosh to be the best, and last, amplifier I'd ever need. It's a dream amplifier, hand made in New York and is more than capable of complementing any high end speakers within my budget. Its a regretful sale ... my plans and circumstances have changed and I have to let it go. It is as new in its box. Features The all-analogue Hybrid design combines the best vacuum tube preamplification and solid state design principles. The valve preamplifier section is powered by two pairs of tubes: two 12AX7As and two 12AT7s. Its output stage delivers 200W per channel into 8 ohm speakers, and 320W per channel into 4 ohm speakers. With an output of 200W, it boasts double the power of its predecessor, the MA252. It totes two balanced and three unbalanced inputs, plus a Moving Magnet phono input for hooking up a turntable. There's also a preamplifier output for connecting power amplifiers, and you can link it to two powered subwoofers. As you can see, it's built like a tank, by hand in New York. The stainless steel chassis is polished to a mirrored finish, and each side boasts vintage McIntosh-styled die-cast aluminium name badges. The logo lights up, and the glass front panel has LED backlighting, so it should look pretty cool in a dark room. Specifications Named Best Hybrid Amplifier 2020 by Hi-Fi World The final verdict: "The MA352 measured well in all areas. It has massive power, almost no distortion and no weak points... A stunning amplifier in sound quality and dynamic thrust. Visually alluring too." Awarded 5 out of 5 Globes. Hifi World Review "a buyer would appreciate brand cache (and associated good resale value) while enjoying pride-of-ownership. There’s a sense of confidence in the amplifier’s effortlessness in terms of its power capabilities and its handling of music, how it functions and its overall execution. It offers a rounded set of features. It’s solidly built and assembled. It looks gloriously attractive. Finally, and most importantly, it plays music to very high standards of dynamic realism, tonal accuracy and sheer listenability." Soundstage Australia Review Photos:

  3. If you can get 2 inceiling speakers approx 1m in front of your seating position and the rear channels on the side walls in the corners you should be able to get a great effect from Atmos. You have to think of the surround sound as a 3D space of height and width, rather than channels of sound. 5.1 will only give you channel based sound. All decent AV receivers support Atmos/ Dts X because it is the new benchmark. You could always add the Atmos speakers later but don't limit yourself by installing a non compatible system with the rear speakers in the wrong position. I would speak to someone experienced about where the speakers should be placed in YOUR room for 5.1 or 5.1.2 configurations because they can often be different.
  4. The denon x2200 is very well spec'd for the price. Look at the awards and reviews. For the Yamaha you will need to spend abit more to get the same spec and features (power / dtsX atmos). Look at the RXA850 or the RXV1079 for similar/ comparable models. You could always go with a Sonos playbar or similar in the living room. Or another simpler setup
  5. Yamaha AV receivers are very comparable spec/ performance to Denon. Marantz is the premium version of Denon - better musical performance. You are mainly paying for more power and extra inputs etc as you step up to the top end AV receivers. This would be recommended to match the better more expensive speakers. I think you're confused with the speaker config. 5.1.4 is a 9 channel Atmos system (no extra zones). What you're thinking of is a 5.1.2 with a second zone. For that you would need a 9 channel AV receiver and the cost would jump up a fair amount I would think.
  6. Hi Gooner, Projector is good value. 5000 hours is Sony's estimated lamp life - many things can affect lamp life. 100" screen will be biggest you can fit in that room Denon is a good mid level AV receiver. Marantz is pretty much a higher spec'd Denon - made by same company. Better for music. Definitely worth adding Atmos/ Dts X IMO. It is now the reference standard for home theatre surround sound. Your room should only need a 5.1.2 which it sounds like you were quoted. Be wary of running cheap cables through walls etc especially at 10m. Kordz are more reasonably priced than other brands like Chord, Monster, etc where you pay for the name.
  7. AVR2113 Denon 7.1 Receiver brand new in sealed box, unwanted gift. comes with invoice from australian supplier with full local australian warranty (not a grey import) Price is firm at $700 cash.

  9. I am simply offering to sell this TV at its RRP price, or close to. Absolutely nothing misleading about it. I happen to know that it is one of the last NEW and LEGITIMATE LX609s available in Australia, and that some people are willing to pay for a quality product.
