  1. Hi @Kazz I've tried Phoenix Mk2s and Acoustix Mk2s as surrounds and rear surrounds, used with Neuphonix Mk2 fronts and Epicentrix Mk2 centre. The Phoenix are great, but low-ish for a floorstander (950mm vs Neuphonix 1046mm). In my application, this meant when used as surrounds the height was ok, but when used as surround rears they were firing into the back of the sofa. The sofa was not particularly high backed. I later tried some Acoustix on a hall table behind the sofa and used the Phoenix as surrounds. Definitely better but I noticed the height diffe
  2. Some of the old Lovan stands that come up on Gumtree work quite well. They also put the centre at a good height relative to mains. I've picked up a few of these for between $20 and $50 each. TV in the pic is a 65 for reference.
  3. Hi Tim, - My old manual and brochure are attached. Pricing caught my eye on the brochure. Base model was $1295. I believe the Export (not lead lined according to the brochure) was $1895. Both were supplied with timber stands. Opting for a lead filled metal stand instead of the timber added $105 (these were the stands with circular pillars). Pricing was from Audio Synergy in Perth - I tried three different stands with my base model 201s. CIrcular pillar stands filled with lead shot were the best. Similar height square pillar stands with angled tops were good. Tall slim pilla
  4. Bunnings normally have bolt/nut sizing panels like this up in the bolt section. Take along a spike off the rack and screw it into the panel to work out the thread/pitch. By all means check out the caster options in that size at Bunnings while you're there, but also consider a visit to Hare & Forbes, Machineryhouse and the like. They often have sturdier options available.

Further information: Krix Acoustix Mk2 Speakers in Atlantic Jarrah - Multiple award winning speakers BEST BUYS AUDIO & AV MAGAZINE – ISSUE 2-2014 We were surprised at the depth and power afforded by the dual bass/mid drivers in the Acoustix Mk2: they really punched above their weight. We were hearing far better, far deeper bass than we’ve heard from any small two-driver two-way system, to the point where it actually rivalled some of the smaller floorstanding models we’ve auditioned. 6. Yep, RRP is $1675 so it's a decent saving.. One pair has already gone (Gumtree). One pair left.
  7. Agreed. The black ash is very nice but atlantic jarrah is my pick of their finishes.
  8. @Rob Wright I think you'll be very pleased with your purchase. I previously had a pair in black ash and liked them enough to come back to some more. Once well run in, the Acoustix's bass is genuinely impressive for a speaker of this size. The mids and highs are very nicely rendered too. The clever front ports mean they are not as fussy as some on positioning. I used them to great effect well into the room on some Solidsteel SS6 stands. Conversely they were surprisingly good on some less than ideal shelves in close proximity to walls. If you've not already seen th

  11. You can but it's a PITA. Caps move, legs don't seat, thread engagement changes. Faster to flip, strip and reassemble.
  12. Bad news I'm afraid. You will need to dismantle it. The top caps are under decent tension and will not be budged with blue tac, magnets etc. Also trying to loosen the legs under the caps to reduce the tension will just bind them up on the level below (unless you dismantle it from the bottom up).
  13. I've auditioned and bought a number of items upgraded by @mivarpet Quality parts, great workmanship and qualifications that guarantee items work as designed. Recommended.
