  1. I assume the worst when considering demo gear. i.e. that the item has been powered on for a minimum of eight hours a day for every trading day the shop has had it. Across three years that's a lot of time. And a hell of a lot different to you using it from new for a couple of hours a day. Warranty or not, I'd consider it potentially well used and be looking for a commensurate price.
  2. The 103 is a great unit. The Darbee version is even better. Excellent picture quality. GLWTS
  3. This is Bonnie. Loves chasing off people that want to touch the remotes. Hates thunderstorms and subwoofers. She's a good girl. 15 years old now.
  4. I think you'll find the Harmonix are floorstanders. Did you mean the Acoustix Mk2 possibly? The Acoustix are a sweet bookshelf speaker. I've got a pair that I use with a Graphix Mk2 centre (the Graphix is an Acoustix on its side with a different crossover). The Acoustix/Graphix match displays a similar synergy to the Neuphonix/Epicentrix combo, just scaled down a little. If the lower profile of the Acoustix is what you're after, I'd recommend the Graphix over the Epicentrix. The pic shows the relative sizes!
  5. Hi, the room is 5.5 x 4.5 x 2.7m. Are you considering something similar in an existing space?
  6. Well picked. The DR2 drives the fronts and an XPA5 out of frame looks after the centre and four rears. AVR then only has to look after atmos speakers.
  7. I've got a Mk2 and love it. It's superb with movies and music, particularly if matched with the Neuphonix. Only downside is that it's a beast size-wise so could be tricky to place.

  11. There's quite a comprehensive review of the Oracles by Louis Challis @ Sound Insights here if of interest. 12. Hi @BATMAQN The side to side measurement of the tweeter will probably be 90 or 120mm. That should make it a TC 90 or TC 120. If you measure the corner radius it will probably be either 30 or 40mm If you then head to this site and compare the specs it should narrow it down significantly: http://site.diy-loudspeakers.com/datasheets/43-focal-datasheets/160-focal-driver-datasheets Good news is the site has the tech sheets for a large range of Focal tweeters. Bad news is it's not all of them. Hope it helps. G. ps Have you pulled a unit out to look for markings?

  14. According to Klapp AV pricing, the XPA-2 is twice the price of the A-300. With that in mind, I'd listen to the A-300 and see if you like it. Then listen to the XPA-2. Is it twice as good? Yes? Then listen to a couple of other brands / models at that price point to confirm the Emo is the amp for you. I also like @Irek's recommendation to listen to the Emotiva pre-amp. The XSP-1 pre-amp is a great unit - I use one with an XPA-5, Gen 3. I love it, but it's also not everyone's cup of tea.
