  4. According to Klapp AV pricing, the XPA-2 is twice the price of the A-300. With that in mind, I'd listen to the A-300 and see if you like it. Then listen to the XPA-2. Is it twice as good? Yes? Then listen to a couple of other brands / models at that price point to confirm the Emo is the amp for you. I also like @Irek's recommendation to listen to the Emotiva pre-amp. The XSP-1 pre-amp is a great unit - I use one with an XPA-5, Gen 3. I love it, but it's also not everyone's cup of tea.

Not wound on, include complete labels, spotless cases etc. 99% sure they're brand new $15ea USED: I also have hundreds of single use tapes that have been labeled lightly in pencil. Open to offers. I've based pricing on what the tapes are currently selling for online. Yes, some of the prices seem rich to me too. If you feel the pricing is not representative, make an offer. The worst I can say is no. I'm happy to consider bulk discounts. All tapes were purchased from Myer Department stores in Perth, WA. Not bought online and imported. They have been stored inside an airconditioned house, vertically orientated inside tape storage draws that were stored inside tubs. Dark, cool environment. Probably as good a storage environment as you could reasonably hope for. Happy to post if you're happy to pay postage. Any questions, fire away! 7. Always had a soft spot for the Nautilus
  8. Gumtree. Seriously. There are about eleventy bizillion entertainment units listed at any given time. You can pick up some fantastic units for a fraction of their new cost.
  9. I've had a little experience with a 90.2, so it doesn't surprise me that the A19 worked with the 726V, despite its modest 50W/channel. From the Hifi Choice review of the 90.2 (Sept, 1989) "The amplifier section of the 90.2 will drive any real loudspeaker load, for great care has been taken to ensure that power output and current delivery are maintained into low impedance and reactive loads. The amplifier's high current capability is made possible by the use of superior ML15003/4 complementary power transistors fed from high value low ESR reservoir capacitors and a massive toroidal mains transformer" I used a 90.2 to drive some Jamo Concert VII speakers, a reasonably difficult load. It never sounded strained and had a rich midrange and sweet treble that a Rotel RB-1080 (200W/channel), and RC-972 I also had at the time couldn't match. Given you're not a bass head nor interested in excessive volume, I wouldn't discount some of the lower power options.
  10. I picked up some of this cable recently from a fellow SNA'er. It is the grey jacket 5T00UP 10AWG with ultrasonically welded connections and locking banana plugs. I have 3m lengths. Some observations and suggestions: - If you're buying from Blue Jeans, I'd go their white jacket version. The grey does not look flash. If you have a fussy partner you'll be glad you went for the white. - The cable is flexible but not as flexible as you'd imagine from the description. - The welded connections are excellent and the locking banana plugs surprisingly good. - The cable measures and reviews well. The following may be of interest: https://www.audioholics.com/gadget-reviews/blue-jeans-10awg-speaker-cable-5t00up - In my modest system, the cable works well and sounds good. - I'd buy it again. If I were wiring a complete HT system this is the cable I would use throughout. Hope it helps.

  13. Keep the boxes. Every time I've moved, sent gear away for repair or sold an item, I've been glad I kept the original box and packaging. Too bulky? Putting boxes inside other boxes helps. Breaking down the boxes and flat packing is even better.
  14. I had a subwoofer that displayed a similar issue. In operation I could make the noise go away by gently touching one part of the rolled rubber surround. To me this suggested the coil and magnet were fouling. Out of curiosity I pulled out the driver and rotated it 180 degrees. No change. I then pulled it out again and rotated it back 90 degrees. Bingo, noise gone and has been working fine for the last 2 years. It might be worth a shot in your case. There's a bit of info here that might also help: https://www.electronics-notes.com/articles/audio-video/loudspeaker/repair-replace-speaker-coil.php
