  1. Looking at the Panasonic 700GL and was wondering can you copy recorded programs from the hard drive to DVD/Bluray disc? One guy at a shop said you could whilst a guy at another shop said you couldn't.
  2. Thank you all for your responses, thought I must have had it set up wrong some how. Thanks again
  3. Just seeking some help in relation to recording live NBA games. I record the live game but keep missing the last 2 mins of the game and it s**ts me. I have the recording set to +10 mins in the setup plus the +20 on the planner and still missed the end. What the hell do you have to do to get a whole game to record? Thanks
  4. Love the NBA but feel this is a wasted channel as I don't have a 3D tv nor do I have any plans in getting one. Have resorted to throwing a towel over one side to watch the other. Better than nothing I guess. Foxtel Sux!!
  5. Got it!! Managed to do it online but took a while to find the right menu to activate it. Thanks for all your help and taking the time to reply
  6. Just wondering how you get the 'on demand' movies/tv series to work. I hooked up an ethernet cable but still don't get a menu like whats on the help channel. Thanks
  7. Anyone understand what this new program is for the PS3. I could be wrong and I think I am but is it just like tversity and PS3 media server where it just streams music from pc? And why/what are we paying for if we buy it?
  8. I have checked that and even swapped the cables around and still does it. No idea what the problem is just happy is doesn't do it more often
  9. I am having occasional problems with the HDMI of the Z7 Basically when the amp is off (standby) I have 'Net' displayed (Ethernet cable connected) and HDMI displayed (showing HDMI out is being used) on the amps interface screen. If I turn on the amp, tv etc it works without any problems. The problem I have is that about maybe 1 in 15 times the HDMI decides to disappear from this screen and when I turn on the amp, tv I only get the Yamaha screensaver. Nothing in the system has changed yet no matter what I do the only reset is to turn the 'master power' button off and on again and it works. Any ideas what could be causing this as nothing in the system changes and seems to just be a random thing. Thanks
  10. Hy all, After a new subwoofer and found these at a local hi-fi store. For a 10" model they are about $1300 but I was thinking about getting 2 which was going to be $2000. I didn't get a chance to listen to it but was hoping to see if anyone has heard of them. 'Apparantly' they are made in the same factory as Energy speakers. OR do I just do what I was going to do and get a 12" SVS. Thanks
  11. Here are a few pics. No idea why the quality of the pics are so average though.
  12. I have a Monster HTS-1000 powerboard. Whether it makes any difference who knows.
  13. Mostly done now (rest of it will take some time) after putting some shelving in. Will take some pics and post soon
  14. Yeah I just had a look at the back on how it was set up and threw them on the wall to see how it would look and it could be an option (and a cheaper option which is always good). Thanks for the idea mate. How many times is that now you have helped with the ol' JBL's haha
  15. After a slight angle in and I have no idea where the brackets are
  16. I am looking for a pair of wall mounted speaker mounts for my 40cm wide JBL 820's. Due to their width I am having problems finding a mount wide enough and I don't really want floor stands. Has anyone located any mounts this wide in their searches or for their applications or know of a good place to search? Thanks
  17. Please don't tell me that. Was looking forward to picking it up next week especially after a bit of hype
  18. Thanks for that. That's a pretty interesting and helpful site 2 feet higher sounds good too. I put my wall plates a bit low I think but should work out ok
  19. Just after some advice on where to install my rear speakers Below is a link to my home theater and have installed conduits with the wall plates a metre high. Basically my question is is the best position for rears just above couch height (where I had planned) or up higher closer to the roof facing down or doesn't matter either way and just personal preference? I asked the same 'q' on my HT topic but it doesn't get many hits. Thanks http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=88075
  20. Thanks for the info Elill. I am going to look into wall lights and see that can be done.
  21. All done. Ended up painting the whole recess onyx lustre and left the outside white which doesn't look to bad plus we got the blind and carpets in today also (pics to follow) I now have a question in relation to the rear speakers. Would the rears be best at about 1200mm (just above couch height) or higher up facing down/forward or doesn't matter either way?
  22. Thanks Chipy. Yeah it's on the cards. Getting an electrician to put in some downlights as well as adding a dimmer and another switch on the outside of the room. I agree, that's what I am struggling with and not overly confident with doing anything with that yet. I think the onyx would be ok for the 4 cornices as well as the vertical part of the recess but it's just that section we just spoke of that's got me beat.
  23. Thanks for the reply 709er. Do you mean deeper as in darker? I want to paint the cornices but that would obviously depend on the roof color i am guessing. I don't know what the roof terms mean so are you talking about the outside of the ceiling being the bulkheads? Thanks again
  24. Finished the walls, carpet should be in on Friday. Still undecided with the roof but thinking of painting the vertical part of the recess onyx lusture (like the darkest wall) that way should fit in with the 'star lights' when I get there and leaving the rest of the roof white and previously suggested. Any thoughts/opinions?
