  1. Item: Bluesound Powernode 2 Location: Perth Price: $600 Item Condition: Perfect Reason for selling: Upgraded bedroom amplifier to Primare i15 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Specs available at https://www.bluesound.com/products-archive/powernode-2/ These seem to go for around the $700 mark including postage on eBay, so pricing is based on sold prices there. Essentially a network player with a 2 x 60w amplifier and controlled by a really well organised app. 18 months old, perfect condition and only selling as I upgraded my bedroom system to something completely overkill. Happy to post interstate if buyer covers costs. I do not have the original box but I do have a suitable box and air pockets to suit. 2. Yep, tried 3 different RCA's ... all do it. I think it's the Stellar Gain more-so than the Yamaha now...
  3. I have the 3070 connected to my PS Audio Stellar Gain which has a home theatre bypass. When switching to the Yamaha (HT bypass channel, RCA input) I'm getting a bit of a pop/thump. Perhaps a build up of DC voltage or leakage? I'm theorizing whether utilising balanced XLR inputs to the Stellar Gain will eliminate or minimise the thuds when switching input...

  10. $1000. Only $99 off but with all the packaging and the case. There wasn't a single scratch or mark on them and no harm in buying something already run in.
  11. Yeh I listened to the TH900 as well and didn't like them at all. They sounded lifeless to me. I was lucky enough to have A2A sell me their store demo (Cascade) pair as they were on quite a back-order with no ETA.
  12. They cover the ears. Well, mine at least. If you have a huge head and ears they might sit on them haha. In regards to bass, they will pound your ears with head-ache inducing bottom end. I listen to electronic, bass-orientated music and found the bass too much. HOWEVER, as soon as I switched to a balanced cable (my amplifier is a Questsyle CMA400i) everything smoothed out substantially. I wouldn't purchase these to use with a regular 6.35mm unbalanced connection to be honest.
  13. Dead serious. I listen to electronic bass-driven music and for me/my music the Cascades did bass much better (only when using a balanced connection however) and were a much more "fun" sounding headphone. I purchased the LCD-2 for when I want a more balanced sound. The beauty (or curse) of people with different ears and different music tastes! Also as I've found in the past few weeks that some headphones just don't get along well with some amplifiers. I think the main reason they didn't work for my ears is that the Sony have a very v-tuned flavour about them. eg. an emphasis on the low end, and an emphasis on the top end. The way a lot of electronic bass-driven music (Drum & Bass, Garage, Dubstep, etc) is produced is with an emphasis on the bass and the treble. Couple this music with a headphone of the same tuning and it just doesn't work. To be fair, I did mention that it only exhibited the issue with average production/recordings (as a lot of underground music is).
  14. Tax refund further depleted after the wife found the open backed LCD-2's "annoying". LOL.
  15. Nice choice. Last week I ended up buying a pair of Campfire Cascade which admittedly, are far too overpowering in the bass region BUT with a balanced cable and nicely matched headphone amp, they really tone down and become an absolute pleasure to listen to. I actually chose them over Focal Clear which were twice the price. I listened to the Sony Z1R and was really impressed with them at first. However when feeding them anything less than a great recording, I found they sounded hollow and got a bit hot in the treble region with average recordings. Bit of a shame as they are a fun sounding headphone. They, like the AEON's had really good bass extension as well.

  18. Too cheap! These are great little speakers. I have a pair in my bedroom, powered by a Bluesound Powernode. Great combination for light listening. GLWS.
  19. I gave Roon a go last week for 3 days and found that it didn't really suit the way I have oganized and tagged my music. I knew that I wouldn't be able to view my music collection like windows explorer (folder/tree view) but decided to at least give it a go after a friend suggested I do so. I cancelled my free trial and shortly after received an email from Eric @ Roon. I explained why I thought it wouldn't work for me and he was good enough to email me back with a descriptive 4-5 step recommendation along with screenshots on how to use Roon's tagging and focus features to achieve what I wanted to do. He also re-enabled my trial for another 30 days instead of the standard 14. Absolute champion. I'll be giving his suggestion a go tonight and giving Roon a bit more of a thorough workout in the coming week or so.
