  1. The UFC has moved from Fox to ESPN. However i've looked for this weekend's UFC event that is happening this weekend, but can't find it in the guide. So has Foxtel lost the UFC as well as the EPL now?
  2. My new Sony Bravia has LED Motion Flow[i think that's what it's called] and i was wondering in what situation would someone turn this on as it's unwatchable.
  3. Thanks for all the replies, I forgot all about this thread. As far as which earphones i am using they are Monoprice. Can't recall which model but they are the ones that have two speakers in each earpiece. I discovered Monoprice a couple of yrs ago, i think. I started reading rave reviews on various headphone sites. They are very cheap but they sound great just like everyone says. I ended up buying a few different models before i settled on my favourite, after that i bought a few pairs of those as eventual replacements. As they've become more popular the prices have gone up a little. I have a pair of Grado headphones[budget model] and also a pair of Audio Technicas, however the Monoprice earphones sound as good as those and they are much more comfortable of course, so i never use the others.
  4. Thanks for the replies. I've connected the tv to the receiver via an optical cable as suggested. It's great not having to listen thru' the little television speakers now, however i can only get sound from the front speakers, no sound from the centre speaker unfortunately.
  5. I just bought a Sony Bravia 43" TV so i could watch Youtube on a bigger screen. I finally sorted out the wi-fi and sat down to watch my first video. I was disappointed because i couldn't get any sound. The only way i could get sound in the end was to switch from my external speakers to the crappy little tv speakers. I have Foxtel satellite tv and i'm wondering if their stb is the problem here? Surely one can watch Youtube TV and have the sound coming thru' an AV receiver? I want to watch concerts mainly and the ones i've watched sound bloody awfu thru the tv speakers. Is there something i need to change within the settings? Thanks.
  6. https://www.videopro.com.au/p-11706-sony-bravia-43-kdl43w660f-full-hd-smart-tv.aspx A few days ago i ordered this tv from Videopro and it's being delivered on Friday. I went for this one as i wanted to access Youtube and finally start watching their videos on the bigger screen. Do all Smart tvs provide access to Youtube? I'm now wondering if i should change my order and go for one with 4K instead? However i'm sure i read something a while ago that said unless you have a screen of 50" or more it's really not worth getting 4K, is that true? Videopro have three 43" tvs with 4K and i'm wondering if i should buy one of these, and if so which one is the better tv? Unfortunately i'm unable to actually visit the shop to view the televisions. https://www.videopro.com.au/p-11672-panasonic-43-th43fx600a-4k-ultra-hd-smart-tv.aspx https://www.videopro.com.au/p-11631-samsung-43-ua43nu7100w-series-7-4k-tv.aspx https://www.videopro.com.au/p-11820-sony-43-kd43x7500f-ultra-hd-android-tv.aspx Thanks.
  7. I'm getting a little disappointed with Foxtel as well. I have the Sports package. No Premier League football, i don't know how many seasons Optus bought? No Champion's League football either. The Fox sports channels aren't that great, the number of them have lessened for me because one is now all cricket[don't like] one is motorsport[don't like] and one is League[don't like.] The Arts channel is awful since it changed. I wonder if i rang and said i would like to cancel i'd get offered a reduction in my monthly fee? Maybe they would call my bluff? I don't know whether switching to Optus would be a good thing or not? Don't know how they compare to Foxtel in price or content, i'll check them out.
  8. I usually listen to music via my FiiO X3 1st generation DAP, which i love. I do have a 2nd gen. version too but i prefer the sound of the 1st gen. I'd like to get an upgrade however there are so many players out there it's all too confusing for me. I know the X3 is cheap compared to many other players so i imagine the sound on some of the really expensive players must be very good? When i first listened to the X3 i found on some songs i heard things i'd never heard before even though i was very familiar with the particular tracks, a bit of a 'wow' moment. What players out there would be a big upgrade over my X3 as far as sound quality goes? As far as FiiO goes, is the X7, for example, noticably better in SQ to the X3? Does buying a player 3-4 times more expensive than the X3 mean there is a big jump in SQ? I'd really like to get a player that gives me some 'wow' moments when first listening to music thru' it. Which player is the next step up over the X3. I suppose if i bought one that is worth $2000 there would be a difference, however i'm assuming i don't have to spend that much money to obtain better sound quality?
  9. So if i buy a new tv that has the YouTube feature, all i need to do is either use the remote to point at on screen keyboard or get a wireless keyboard to search for videos i wish to watch, don't need a mobile phone? The reason i'm asking these basic questions is because prior to looking at ads for new tvs and seeing they had a YouTube feature, i had thought i needed to connect the pc to the tv and receiver via HDMI cables, and i just want to rule that completely out. BTW i have no idea why you highlighted the fact i typed out 'thanks' Seak, is it odd to thank people for replying or something?
  10. Thanks for replying. Unfortunately i no long require another receiver, thanks though.
  11. Thanks for replying. So i DON'T have to have to have a mobile phone app in order to watch YouTube videos on my new tv? As long as it has the YouTube feature and YouTube button on the remote? I can just buy a dongle to plug into my pc to make it wifi and compatible with the new tv which can show YouTube via wifi? Thanks.
  12. Item: AV Receiver Price Range: up to $300 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: After a basic AV Receiver with a good working remote control. Thanks. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  13. How easy is it to watch YouTube videos on the television? I'm probably going to buy a new tv, maybe a Sony Bravia. One can watch YouTube on the tv screen via wifi and the YouTube button on the remote control. I'd like to know the process involved and whether it is easy? Previously i invested in a couple of very long HDMI cables to connect the pc tower with my old plasma tv and my AV receiver, but it didn't work out quite right. That is why i'm going to buy a different tv. My pc doesn't have wifi but i understand i can buy a little USB device that i can plug into the pc tower which will make the computer wifi?[dongle?] I just had a bit of a look online about this type of thing and it went on about apps for smartphones[which i don't actually own] in order to access YouTube videos on the tv screen. So i'm getting put off tbh as i'm a VERY non-tech person and it is starting to sound difficult. https://www.videopro.com.au/p-10999-sony-bravia-49-kd49x7000e-4k-hdr-tv.aspx Thanks.
  14. I'm after a LCD HDTV under 50" so i imagine that means a 42" screen.[are there any around 45"?] The deal-breaker would be that i must be able to watch Youtube videos on the tv. I know some have that feature via wifi, however my pc doesn't have wifi, however i'm assuming i can add that to the pc tower if i have to? Only have around $1000 to spend. Basic tv with a great picture, and able to watch Youtube on it. Thanks.
