  1. Can I ask what price and where you got the X4000? I am in the market for an amp after purchasing the Dali Concepts on this forum, and was thinking of the Denon X3000, which I can get for $950. Cheers!
  2. I need to purchase an amp to power my newly acquired Concept 10's, 2's and centre I bought from this forum! I dropped into HN last night after picking the speakers up, and was told the Denon X3000 would be the best choice at $950 (the salesperson was actually very knowledgable!). It seems $950 is a pretty sharp price for this amp...should I go for it? I'm only new to this and have done some research, but a nudge would be greatly appreciated to ensure I am making the right decision. Ideally I would watch the forums for a second hand amp, but I really want to get this up and running! Cheers!
  3. What colour are these in? I don't have an amp, so what would I need to run them? Looking for something that will suit my family to give us a greater experience whilst watching movies and listening to music...so nice sound with good volume and bass! Cheers!
  4. Looks like I missed the $2000 65", so back to the 60". One more question...extended warranty...I know I said I didn't want to fork out any extra, but the idea of having the TV for at least 5 years for another $290 is appealing. JB now provide an additional 1 year warranty (2 year total) due to the ACCC backing statutory warranties. I purchased extended warranty for our current Pana 50" but never used it, however I have used it for other items. Any thoughts on paying for extended warranty? Cheers, and thanks for the comments so far!
  5. Oh man...now the 65" ST60 is going for $2000! Not sure if to go bigger now or put the $400 difference into a sound system.
  6. I was considering getting one of these now that they are below $1600, but after reading this I'm not quite sure as I don't want to spend more money just to calibrate it (what is the approx cost of this?). I'm just not sure if I should wait to see what is around the corner, or grab one while they are still available, because in the most part, the reviews and comments are very positive! $1600 for a 60" with a supposedly great picture seems to be a terrific buy, and anything equivalent appears to be ~$1000 more. I currently have a Panasonic 50" PZ700a, and dare I say, the picture quality is better than many of the LCDs (and some plasmas) I have viewed recently. Your thoughts? Other options? Cheers!
  7. The 160Gb version is already down to $300...yes, expensive as just a BD player, but cheap considering everything else it is capable of!
  8. Have you ever considered one of these? http://www.ozmodchips.com/dsi-and-dsi-xl-f...ds-c-47_48.html It helps a lot when you have lots of games and they are all consolidated onto one card. We have a Supercard DSTwo which also allows you to watch movies and read books.
  9. I have a 2.5yo Panasonic BD-60 and 1.5yo PS3 (250Gb slim) and neither will play BluRays! They both play DVDs, and the PS3 will still run games (even though they're on BluRay disks). These are the only BluRay players I've owned, were not abused, and both are buggered! I find this very frustrating as my 3.5yo Toshiba EP-10 is still going strong, and I have never had a DVD player die on me. I should state that the PS3 will occassionally play a BluRay movie, but it takes many attempts of reinserting the disk, restarting the PS3, and loading other disks (DVDs or games) to get a BluRay movie to play (maybe this problem requires another thread in Game Consoles)! Has anyone else experienced BluRay players with such a short life?
  10. Thanks for the suggestions, but none worked... However, I did use a DVD cleaning disk, so this may not have cleaned the BluRay laser.
  11. My BD60 has stopped reading bluray disks, but DVDs are OK. Any suggestions to what the problem might be? Firmware is 2.5. Cheers
  12. Haven't done any reading but try google: http://www.google.com.au/search?client=fir...G=Google+Search http://forums.highdefdigest.com/hd-dvd-har...en-players.html http://forums.highdefdigest.com/hd-dvd-har...e-408bc504.html http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=810932 http://www.avforums.com/forums/hd-dvd-play...ceived-xe1.html
  13. Not sure why you have interjected, but if you must know, I also e-mailed the seller about my interest and situation with my flight, and had been in the process of finding out costs to either courier it to me or pick it up while there. The item was only up for two hours before I replied, and my decision would have been made tonight...not a week or two as you suggested!
  14. Oh...I thought I was the 'first in best dressed'...
  15. How much can you get this sent to 3752 for? I would have to buy extra luggage allowance and just want to see which is cheaper. This would be a great first amp for me!
  16. Very tempting, and I'll be flying into Coolangatta airport on the 28th Feb and out on the 9th March. How heavy are each of the items? Warranty and condition? Do you have boxes and packaging? Now that I have re-read your post, this is the first thing that is stated!
  17. For some time now I have thought that my one year old 50PZ800's black levels have become greyer...must give the reset a try. I assume it is the same for this model and the G10?
  18. Apparently the IR dongle from this remote also works with Harmony remotes, and it's only $20. I do have this remote as part of a deal with a PS3 from Myer, but it is a family Christmas present so I can't try it out. Here is a link to a thread suggesting it works though.
  19. I use the Pledge Grab-It Duster...picks up the the dust really well, doesn't leave a single mark on the piano black finish, and takes only seconds to do!
  20. Reinvigorating a somewhat old thread to ask what settings you are using after (probably) several 100 hours of viewing? Cheers...
  21. Looking forward to receiving this some time next week so my family can watch the latest releases in all their HD glory (on a Panasonic 50PZ800a)! Thanks SimonNo10 for what has so far been an easy transaction!
  22. VERY interested...need to check if I can get something to pick it up...
