  1. It's a little bit cheaper again from here: https://www.rio.com.au/product/2/7/782/yamaha-rxv673/
  2. You can buy the 473 locally for only $10 more anyway. https://www.rio.com.au/product/2/7/754/yamaha-rxv473/ The 573 is only $60 more which is the better deal (from the same site)
  3. ... EDITED: Can't be done. Only analogue can be output through zone 2.
  4. Hi I'm looking at the KDL40EX500 for the bedroom. Anyone seen these for a good price? I saw it in JB for ~$1200, but i'm not sure if thats decent or not?
  5. Your laptop is 7kg???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, maybe you should look at a 13" dell latop instead. ATM I'd much rather one of those than the ipad. No Multitasking is the killer for me also. Hopefully they'll come good in a few generations.
  6. Ha! I rang the Indooroopilly store and the Oxley store today for the 120gb model too! Oxely do have 2 display units if your interested. Which one offered the 250gb at $499?
  7. You just have to push forward to a certain area of the map for it to trigger the fall. Haven't played it in a year but pretty sure thats what happens.
  8. And the AUS Ps3's are; Bluray: Region B DVD: Region 4 Games: Region Free correct?
  9. Oh Ok. I dont use ISO's at all, so it hasn't bothered me. Nor did I know. The best part about media browser is that as long as you've got your tv shows in files and folders named like; D:/TV Shows/House/Season 1/House S01E01.avi It downloads all the arwork, episode synopsis etc automatically. Its great. Stability wise... Its been pretty good, though not perfect. The odd freeze etc happens from time to time. But nothing that a quick restart doesn't fix. One of the good things is that it integrates into the MCE strips. So it looks part on Media Centre, not an add-on.
  10. Media Browser is my favourite by far. http://www.mediabrowser.tv/gallery.html
  11. It is really solid, quite heavy too, so the torque from the G25 doesn't move the frame at all. Only thing I would have done differently is make it fold flat, I live in a unit, so there's not a lot of room for storage. It fold downs, just not completely flat.
  12. Here is what I did. I wanted to use the living room couch instead of having an entire cockpit and needing another chair. Total cost was about $60. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bowds1122/photo.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...122/photo-1.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...122/photo-2.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...122/photo-3.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...122/photo-4.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...122/photo-5.jpg Materials needed. (all measurements in mm.) 600 x 600 x 12 plywood – base. 2000 x 70 x 35 pine – arms. 1300 x 140 x 18 pine – to hold arms together and mount wheel. 800 x 25 x 25 square metal tubing – arm braces 500 x 30 x 30 L shape metal – for adujstable height + bolts, screws, varnish etc. Cut metal tubing, L shape, pine (arms) material all in half. Cut the 140 x 18mm pine into 2 x 500mm lenghts so you have a remaining 300mm for the gearshiter holder. Please note: the high of the arms is dependant on how tall you/your chair is so make sure its the right height for you. Cut 75mm off each of the pine arms (this you will screw these pieces into the plywood), and round one end of the arms. It will be the end of the arm bolted to the 75mm piece that is screwed into the base. In each of the 75 x 70 x 35mm pieces drill a whole in the centre and also, in the centre of the end of the rounded arms, 35mm in. Screw both 75mm pieces into the plywood, so that the outside measurements between them are 500mm. At the other end of the arms cut at approx 45 degress, then screw 1 length of 500 x 140 x 18 pine onto the angle. this is where the wheel will be mounted. Now on the shorter side of the arm, mount the other 500 x 140 x 18 to brace the arms together. About halfway up the pine arms drill a hole through the middle and also through both the ends of the metal tubing, bolt together. Drill same size holes along one edge, and fix to the base. To mount gearstick use any left over 70 x 35 pine and screw into the left arm on the same angle, where ever will be comfortable to use. Then screw the remaining 300 x 140 x 18 pine into the mount you have made. hope that helps edit: full album here: http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bowds1122/
  13. Ok, here goes. Firstly, the camera seems to pick up a lot of dust in the shots, or maybe i shouldn't be as lazy... don't tell the missus. So you've got an idea of my setup here's a pic to begin with. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120266.jpg As mentioned at the top of the page, I've got 2x12cm CoolerMaster fans cooling the Onkyo 606 and the same for the PS3 (probably could of just done the ps3 with 1 but anyway). Onkyo 606 Front (Fans Not Visible ) http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120267.jpg Rear http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120260.jpg PS3 cooling Front http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120270.jpg Rear http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120264.jpg Also, i have prepared some vents for when my HTPC is finished (still choosing the internal components) You can also see the rubber i used to eliminate/reduce vibrations HTPC Front (Fans Not Visible ) http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120269.jpg Rear http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120265.jpg Ok so the acutal wiring etc; Pic of the 9v DC Plug Pack http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120263.jpg Pic of the On/Off Switch http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120261.jpg Pic of the wiring to Molex http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120273.jpg Pic of the Molex to 3pin splitter (i will be using this in my HTPC when its finished to power the exhaust fan behind it because its got a PCI bracket, so i'll just need to pick up a simple cable to do the job that is currently.) http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bo...22/P5120274.jpg Or you can view all the photos here; http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bowds1122/
  14. Well it seems to work very well indeed. The best part is because of the low rpm i can not hear the fans at all, even if i put my ears next to the avr at the front of the cabinet (less than 25 cm away.) Obviously not a lot of airflow was needed at all, it was just that previously there was none. So Total Cost, $25 4x12cm Coolermaster Fans. (12v 0.16A rating each) ~$10 3 x 3pin splitter cables, 2 x 3pin extention cables ~$20 9v 1000ma DC Plug Pack ~$3 On/Off Swtich A bit of soldering and tape, a few screws, some rubber to mount between the fans and the cabinet. So all up about $60, and am very happy with how it turned out.
  15. Well I wired it all up, with the 9v 1000ma dc plug pack, (4 x 12cm fans and switch) All worked... except the rpm of the fans is too low, they're hardly moving and air at all (it seems anyway) i'll run it tonight and see if it makes any difference. Otherwise i'll be off to get a 12v plug pack instead.
  16. Thanks Azz and Shonky. These are the fans i'm powering. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...roducts_id=7694 hmnmn, bit annoying aout the 606, oh well. That powerboard is a good idea, except i've already got a belkin 8-way isolator so i don't really want a second powerboard just for the fans. It would be convient solution though if i didn't have a powerboard to begin with. Thanks for suggesting it. Azz, in relation to this; Can you explain this please? If I underpower the fans, will this just mean they run slower (i don't mind if this happens) or will destroy the 12v DC plug pack? I've got an old 9v - 1000ma DC plug pack lying around will this work at all? If not the 12v ones are cheap as chips anyway. I also bought one of these these switches other day from DSE ( http://tinyurl.com/clx725 ) thinking i could rig up something like this; http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/directron_2049_683810229 or http://www.silentmods.com/section2/item272/part2 Would this be an option at all? Thanks again for your help.
  17. I've just mounted a few 12cm PC Case fans on the back of my entertainment unit, but haven't worked out how i'm going to power them yet. Can you provide a link as to the 12 volt plug pack you used and how you have wired it up? I've got a Onkyo 606, so i'm not sure if its got an option where the fans can be turned on when the amp is on or not. If i have to plug it in to the 240v wall power point thats fine, the only way i've been able to think of so far is by using a sample computer power source to power just the fans which isn't ideal. Thank you very much!
  18. Yeah, a new room would be nice! I think i'll just have to give 7.1 a miss until we buy a house. Then, I'll have a dedicated room. Ahhh, the dream....
  19. Would a scale drawing of this be enough? http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk94/bowds1122/plan.jpg Or do you want a proper floor plan?
