  1. Selling my home theatre setup as I have a smaller house and am using my studio monitors instead. Most of this stuff has been boxed up unused for 2 years. Smoke free home and well looked after. 1. Klipsch Synergy S10 Surround Speakers - wall mounting bracket (screw hanger) and cloth grilles included. as new condition and hardly used. 2. Bought a Marantz NR1402 today $549 from Apollo hifi - www.apollohifi.com.au very good to deal with. Will be using my satellites for a little while until I can afford some decent speakers. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  3. usage: xbox360, movies (Bluray rips, DTS audio), TV (some DTS audio, mostly just stereo) and Mp3s. Music taste: predominantly rock/metal, some blues, some electronic. budget: receiver NR1402 or 03 is gonna be $600-700, so lets say $300 for front speakers may just continue using satellites for the rear considering i rarely notice them anyway.
  4. well im currently using a pioneer HTS-GS1 so anything would be nicer. Leaning towards the 1403 + apple TV. whats a good set of bookshelfs? was going to get audioengine p4s but they dont have a center channel available.
  5. need something smaller than your average receiver to fit in my TV unit. a Cursory googling reveals a few models from Marantz and Pioneer, just wondering if anyone can suggest any other models? leaning towards the Marantz NR140x as I would rather buy an apple TV to expand the airplay to include video, as the nr160x only do audio I think. Must haves: 5.1 minimum 4 HDMI inputs small form factor (no taller than 10cm) nice to haves but not critical: airplay (video and audio) zone 2 ethernet port front HDMI ports (for video cameras) setup microphone or equiv system. optical input (for FTA TV audio) TOSlink optical passthrough would be nice (for my xbox headphones) Dont need/care/TV doesnt support: 3D audio return via HDMI DLNA anything Price range: anything under a grand is good.
  6. Rust is a Free for all/one on one map only. the only reason you would have played it in any other gametype is because of hacked private matches, which have been patched a while ago. you may have also noticed on rust that you would be in a room with about 18 people, instantly respawn and even if it was a team game, it would be free for all. again, its been patched so the only way youll play rust is on free for all or 1v1.
  7. both. leaked games obtained illegally (torrents) are usually all the same copy, made from a master. since they know they are all going to be identical, anyone who has played the version with a certain MD5 (for example, not sure how they detect it) will show up on the auto-ban system at XBL HQ and get knicked. genuine games sold early dont set off any alarm bells. pirated copies and modded consoles do. i do believe there is some console hardware check that is performed that can detect mods too, which is regularly updated to combat the update firmwares.
  8. it actually bans the console, not the live account, from using xbox live. so if you have auto-renew on your account, your console can still be banned and your account can continue to renew til your credit card expires.
  9. Worthy of note is how the updates work for xbox live - the first title update (patch) you release is free of charge. as most are probably aware, there was an update released on day 1, which was their free update. any further patches, IW/Activision have to pay a fee to microsoft to release it, which is usually why much needed bug fixes and new features in terms of networking, performance, and other stuff is bundled in with map packs or DLC. rumor is that the first map pack is out in march. getting good games isnt too hard for me. went 41-7 in domination last night on a yellow connection. first game we joined was a green game, then a few yellows and then another green that we stayed for about 4 hours (amazed none of our party members got dropped forcing us to back out.) smaller parties seem to have better luck - most of the time you will join an existing lobby. as most of us do, aussies dont back out of a green lobby very often, meaning fewer slots in that lobby to join. so 2 people have a better chance of getting in to a green game than 3 or 4. you have to change your play style for laggy games - I have an invisible class (ninja pro, cold blooded, bling pro, silencer on both guns) and spend the whole game flanking and taking everyone out from behind. green games i get more aggressive and switch to something with nade launcher, stopping power, bling and ninja pro (not being heard is HUGE for sneaking, plus nothing else in that slot interests me). the best thing you can do is fill your friends list with aussies and just invite everyone when you want to play.
  10. still looking for one more sydney sider
  11. 22Z-GE clear your PMs so we can send you some info regarding a group buy.
  12. Im in Sydney and interested in hosting for a group of 3. 2 more sydney siders needed! Im in sydney metro and have a bunch of free time coming up as im between jobs so can deliver for a small fee IF they arrive in the next few weeks so we need to get the order in by friday this week i suppose?
  13. OK, thanks anyway. Hopefully figjam can see this so I can get in on it. hopefully its all sorted before christmas time so they dont take months to post!
  14. would you be able to forward it on? I would really like to get on board with this now that forza 3 is out. hope i havent missed out.
  15. Sydney sider, 360 wheel, I am interested.
  16. 20gb would be enough, but the reality is that its around 11gb. I have about 2.5gb free with all halo 3 DLC and about 200 rockband songs, and a handful of arcade games. not a lot of wiggle room after you throw in a few videos and demos.
  17. So you buy it on a console and dont worry about retarded activation rules. Also why bother? left 4 dead 1 felt like a cheap half life mod, i dont see either of them worth the price of a full retail game.
  18. theyve said that there is a licensing problem with RB2, however all titles onwards (beatles, lego, RB3, etc) will be worldwide simultaneous releases.
  19. There is an online distributor but no retail stockists last time i checked. google .AU for ion drum rocker and it should pop up.
  20. are yours the wooden frame heads or plastic frame heads? i would be keen on the RB2 drum kit but i already have GWM heads so yeah only keen on all of it if its the newer heads.
  21. why would you buy games to 'maximise value'? I buy games to play them, not brag on the internet about how much money i saved.
  22. spose i will have one by christmas at this rate. good price although for the few exclusive titles i want it for (already own a 360) it would have to come down a bit more first.
  23. Seemed to have fixed the problem i was having by swapping it with another drum (green). it works fine in the green position but intermittently in the red position? the green drum in the red position works fine too. my yellow still misses occasionally though good for now, dont need to worry about buying new ones. grabbing GH metallica this week
  24. My goodwoods red drum is definitely toast. pulled it apart and put it back together and still missing hits. they seem to have upgraded to plastic construction now - anyone here got them? not sure if another $250 is worth it...may just go ion.
