  1. Well i just got my Crowson Transducers and AMP today. Just have to install them now....Then the fun begins.
  2. Yeah i have one from ages ago when i measured it with REW. This is what the AS-EQ1 saw it as After the EQ1
  3. 4 12" TC Sounds subwoofers. Getting about 380w each. Can handle 400w RMS each. Room has 2 bass traps in opposing corners. There is a door in one other corner and my equipment rack in the other.
  4. I am powering them with a Behringer EP2500 amp. EQ is with the SVS AS-EQ1
  5. Also i have to EQ my subwoofers due to room modes. So at 31Hz i have a 6db peak due to the room. My EQ is set to flatten that out but now i don't get the shaking affect from the subwoofers at 31Hz as they are now only getting 1/4 the power they where before EQ. I can hear the subwoofers just fine at 31Hz just cant feel them as they are not moving much to create the SPL because of the room mode that's boosting that frequency a heap. With no EQ the subs shake great. But the bass sounds boomy and uneven due to the room. Now with the transducers i will be able to get the feeling back with my flat sounding bass.
  6. My 4 IB subs are only 12" ones though. Wow you have 2 submercives. That's like if I where to have 4 18" sub drivers plus you have another 2 SVS subs in the back. Impressive. That setup would easily out do my humble rig.lol Hence the need for transducers.
  7. Interesting. I have seen that movie also and didnt remember anything of the bass in it. You must have a better subwoofer setup than mine.
  8. lol yeah i know. Don't get me wrong the IB subs can absolutely shake the entire room down. It just has to be obnoxiously loud to do it and i don't like listening to it that loud nor am i really allowed too. I get complaints that its too loud. So it would be nice to have that feeling but not need to have it absolutely cranked to do it.
  9. Yeah that would be great if you could. Thanks. Really keen to try something like this out in my HT room for that extra something to go with the 4 IB subwoofers.
  10. I'm keen if this deal is still available ? Might be a little late but i have only just started looking at a transducer system just now and found this post. Hopefully its still available ?
  11. LOL. Not a chance. The quality of SD or even HD TV in this country is hopless for blowing up big with a projector. Is only just watchable on a 46" Sony Bravia let alone anything bigger. And when playing computer games on a massive screen can you say Motion Sickness ? Leave the big screen for Movies. Anything else its the TV all the way. WAY better picture on the TV for that kind of stuff.
  12. Yeah they would be at 100". We have been talking about a 92" size screen. These guys have the LP Morgan in a 100" for about $2150 http://www.justproje...nsmotorised.htm This is where i plan to get my 92" from.
  13. [quote name=' timestamp='1344683915' post='1825233] missed this sorry, couple of reasons I think why the screen technics suits, its not as wide as the rondo with its side cut for the same screen size. plus I have young kids one 4 and another 7 and always be worried theyd end up damaging the delicate material of the rondo vs the conventional more hardy stuff the screen technics made off. but thats just my reasons I dont think be unhappy with either screen. the screen technics is reasonably quiet, a touch quieter than the rondo. both are much quieter than the cheaper and smoother operating than some chinese screens come across. but keep in mind you only put screens down once at start and back up again once finished viewing so in real terms its not something a huge consideration in use. Cheers mate.
  14. Sorry double post/thread. Mods can delete this one.
  15. So Al just wondering what made up your mind of which screen to go with ? What's the motor in it like ? Quiet ? Fast ? I have been searching YouTube videos to see one in action but there are none. Would be nice to see one rolling out to see how fast the motor is and how quiet.
  16. Ok cool. Well the LP Morgan has me interested mostly. Probably because the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence ? lol I did email them a couple days ago to ask about there screen but with no reply so not sure what to make of that ? Will shoot ST a message and get the low down on theres next.
  17. Thanks for that. My Screen Technics is about 5 years old now. And your right it doesn't really have any waves in it either as i just got up close and had a look. The very bottom bit by the dropper bar is a little curled up but that's only because its been rolled up for some time. It is there Cinema Tech chain drive manual one that i have. Is their screen material the same as what i have now do you know for there latest motorised screens or do they use a better material for the higher price screens ? I was hoping for something a bit better than what i have now in a new screen. Also with the LP Morgan you say it has a more stretchy screen material ? Is it a thinner material than the Screen Technics one ? Dose it still have a good backing to block light coming out the back of the screen ? I understand what you mean about the fabric nature of the Screen Technics material. Its got a real texture to the surface of it. Not completely smooth. So the LP Morgan is totally smooth is it ? What about others like Da-Lite and Draper ? Also i think OZTS has a ad on there site about possibly getting in some from Screenline from Italy ?
  18. Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my old Screen Technics manual roll down screen with something motorised and remote control with IR remote and was hoping for some suggestions on what's a good screen to get ? I am after a 16:9 92" screen in a totally light controlled room. Projector is a JVC HD550. I would like something a bit better than my Screen Technics if possible. Actually i would love a OZ theatre screen but they don't make roll down ones which is a real shame. Stewart Screens is out of the question as the quote i got was $5900 for one. I am prepared to spend a max of $2500. LP Morgan do one but i have no idea on the quality difference compared to my current one if it would be better or the same or how it would be with out tab tensioned ? It has radial cuts but no tabs so ???? Everyone says if you are getting a roll down it MUST have tabs or it will get waves ? And yeah i have to have a roll down as i have a 46" Sony behind the screen for general TV watching and gaming. Projector is used for movies only. Any help much appreciated. Cheers guys, Tim.
  19. Well i cant wait as i need something now and the Panasonics are taking forever. Yeah i just realised it was a Samsung website right after i posted the link. How about AVS forums then http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1322999
  20. Yes both sets are the same price. And they are both Plasma. I have only been able to see them separately so yes it is tricky to judge which has the better picture. Am leaning towards the Sammy at this stage. Seems to get good reviews as seen here http://reviews.us.samsung.com/7463/PN43D45...ews/reviews.htm
  21. Well i have narrowed it down too these two. The Panasonic 42" TH-P42S20A plasma vs the new 43" Samsung PS43D450 plasma. The panasonic is the 2010 S series runout model. The Samsung is the new 2011 43" I can get both about the same price. Its just a matter of which one would be better in terms of picture and sound for FTA use. Haven't been able to see them side by side as everywhere i went they only had one or the other.
  22. Hmm, yeah the Panasonic 42V20A would be a nice one but i think the room with all the windows and sunlight coming in might be a killer ?
  23. Hi all, My sister is moving into a new house in the next week and is after a new TV in the 40" to 42" range for no more than $1000. Just wondering what the best would be out there in this class ? The room it will be in has some north east facing windows on the back wall which might cause reflections but i wouldn't rule plasma out totally as when it gets dark then its no problem ? It will be used as a standalone TV set so decent sound would be just as important as good picture quality. Main usage will be just FTA tv. So good SD performance is needed. Any thoughts ? So far have considered the new Sony 40CX520 LCD which is about the best i can come up with ? Also saw the new Samsung 43" Plasma but the sound was terrible, very thin sounding and shrill so quickly ruled that one out. Thanks for any help.
  24. I have the same problem with WIN. Never had any problems before until about a month ago when it all started. And its still like it now. All other channels are perfect. Just seems to be WIN, GO and there other one. I am just outside Devonport with antenna pointing to MT Barrow. Do WIN transmit at a lower power than all the other stations ? Even though my STB says the signal strength is 98% and signal quality is 85% but it's got distorted sound half the time and lots of pixilation on and off. What have WIN done to cause this ? Because something has changed for the worse what ever they have done ?
  25. Found out i can just copy the files from the 7100 onto external HDD and then copy them over to the 2400 HDD. They show up as .mpg files. With TAP's Peter will any tap work on any STB or are they model specific ? I did a search for the TAP you mention and i see one you did back in 2008 called JustEPG 16.0. I am guessing that something that old would not work on the 2400 ? The FTA EPG is about the only thing I don’t like on the 2400 so far. The 7100 EPG was a lot easier to read but a bit slow and lagy.
