  1. You say the TV has no aerial at all - is that right - are all your TV's setup with no aerial.

before I had the DP-P2, the aerial went from the wall to the TV, now its going straight into DP-P2 ... I dont see the need of another aerial cable going to TV when I am not using th built in TV tuner as all should be done by the DP-P2 which displays the picture through HDMI.

The other TV in the master bedroom has aerial cable going from the wall to the TV as otherwise it would get no signal.

PS: just noticed I accidentally created extra 2 threads, bad internet connection so my apologies.

  2. Hi guys

just unpacked and plugged in my new DP-P2 and im bit disappointed.

Issue is than one hd, one, ten and nine do not work, i get bits , ie picture comes on for a sec etc.. Signal strength is in red.

Not sure why the beyonwiz has an issue with signal. The TV itself plays all those channels perfectly, as well as another telly in the bedroom.

I upgraded to latest firmware already.

Im new to world of PVRs and bought the beyonwiz purely for its pvr function so u can imagine my disappointment.

Any thoughts on whats wrong? Otherwise its really useless to me. :(

    thanks in advance

  5. I am moving houses so dont want to buy the screen yet for another 4 weeks so with the stock shortages and screen being discontinued, I have been struggling to find a store that will hold it for me for next 4 weeks with only a 10% deposit.

luckily, streamaster was kind of enough to offer this , at a slightly higher price ... ended up paying $2850 including delivery and 2 extra years warranty. Few hundred more but paying for convenience :) so pretty happy ...

now I cant wait to move houses !

  6. the problem with return is that this thing is huge and unless you have big car, there is no way you can take it back yourself.

I also am looking at getting one of these panels but as few said, more and more retailers are saying they don't stock them anymore. There are few online shops that are saying they can still get them, I just prefer to deal in person rather than online, especially if the screen is faulty, its easier to walk into a retail shop rather than chasing someone on the phone on the other side of Oz.

Shame there is no another 58" alternative within the price range ... is the Panna V10 about as close as it gets ?

  7. Hi guys

We are moving to a new place and I am looking at upgrading our TVs.

We currently have 50” Samsung Plasma – HDTV (1366x768) in the lounge and 26” Samsung LCD TV (1366x768) in the bedroom.

The one in the lounge has PS3 , Wii and High definition media player hooked up to it. Usage - %65 media player, 15% PS3, 15% FTA, 5% Wii

The one in the bedroom has also 1080p player hooked up it. Usage 95% media player, 5% FTA

    Sitting distance

    Lounge - 3.5m

    Bedroom 3.5m

I don’t need the screens to have build in features like divx playing capabilities. All I need is a quality picture.

    Lounge options :

    Samsung 55” Series 6 LED (UA55B6000 ) http://www.eljomedia.com.au/ProductDetails...tCode=UA55B6000

    Samsung 58” Series 5 Plasma TV (PS58B550) http://www.webprice.com.au/page/shop/flypage/product_id/1100

Sitting distance will be reduced as the lounge is bit smaller unfortunately (so approx 3m). Media content – mostly 720p , some 576p and very little 1080p (ie BR).

    Bedroom option:

    Samsung 32” Series 6 LED (UA32B6000) http://www.cheapbargains.com.au/Samsung-UA...play-p-591.html

The reason why I choose the LED screen for the bedroom is because its super slim and its ideal to mount on the wall as it does not stick out as much as other 32” screens.

Would really appreciate thoughts from people in terms of whether the above options would suit my needs or if there are other models I should consider. I would like to keep the Lounge screen under $3.5K (ideally even less like the 58” Series 5 plasma which is only $2.4K) and under $1.5K in the bedroom.

  8. hi guys

my mediagate 350HD has carked it couple nights ago in the middle of a movie. The PSU basically short circuted and loud poping noise came out of it , it was super hot to touch. I know I can get a new PSU ( around $40) for it but I dont know if the box itself is still ok.

Its out of warranty so I decided to buy a new media player. Btw I also own eGreat EG-M31B (in the lounge room) which I am sort of happy with, it plays files perfectly however, the menu navigation is awkward and browsing through a folder with hundreds of folders is quite slow imo.

The player is for my bedroom to be used with a 26" Samsung LCD (only 576p I think). TV has HDMI although I would prefer to keep current cable arrangement if possible (component). Also needs to have wireless connection as it will stream everything from the network.

Can someone recommend a player that will do all of the above, has super simple interface and can browse through folder VERY quickly ?

Budget – quite open atm, don't mind paying premium for quality and good performance, however, everything within reason

I have so far considered the DTV002 - LINK CLICK HERE but can't find any reviews or videos of how the product performs. It does have DTV and PVR function which I would prol not use, however its a neat extra feature to have.

Alternatively, I might replace the eGreat box I have in the lounge with this one Conceptronic Media Titan and use the eGreat in the bedroom. Other alternative is the Beonwiz P2 which is quite costly and I wonder if its worth the expense considering I watch very little TV (as in FTA, dont have cable).

Thoughts from people with other boxes or the ones above are welcomed. cheers

  9. I got my screen yesterday ! its amazing, so huge !

I've got a question ... I seem to have to switch to Wide Zoom mode whenever I am watching a movie through my mediabox (which is set to 720p and running through DVI to HDMI cable).

If I leave it set at 16:9 the picture is sort of stretched left-right ...

any thoughts why that is ? its just annoying to keep switching the setting whenever I want to watch a movie ...

  10. hey guys

I bought mine yest, getting delivered on Sat morning ! yay ! just need a new TV stand :)

Bought it from JB at Macquarie Center in Sydney.

They did not have the C model in so ended up giving me the Q9 for tiny bit more ... I was so happy ...

Ended up paying $1792 for TV plus $229 for extra 2 years warranty. I also bought Jamo speakers so thats why I got the discount although I haggled the speakers from $799 down to $580 :)

extremely happy with the deal ...

  11. I have finished building the PC on the weekend (new case and other bits and pieces) so I will try it all again ...

    - mobo has already latest BIOS

    - using latest drivers for the TV Tuner downloaded from ur site

    - yes Device manager shows an item as NXP SAA7162, Hybrid Capture Device

    - will try different PCIe slots (dont see how this can make a diff as the card is recognised)

    - will try to run as administrator

    - last resort - will test in my server which has unused PCIe slot

thanks for the help / tips so far ...

PS: have you watched the video I recorded ?

  12. hi guys

I have Vista 64bit ... and I just bought the DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI-E S2 with the software.

I installed the soft in c:\dntv! live folder

    have the latest drivers

    software works ok ... BUT

how the heck do I get any channels ???? when I go into Tuner scan and select sydney , it scans all and I can see I am getting good signal

but why does it not transfer all the successfully scanned frequencies into the "TV Channel Editor"

how am I supposed to actually add channels there ? manually by entering the freq and PIDs ? seriously ?

please help as this is so frustrating !!!!

pls windows media centre does not find ANYTHING !!!

EDIT: see this link for a short video I made to show what I mean - http://members.iinet.net/~hazay/dontdelete/MVI_5186.AVI

  13. I've sense been to lookk at the Acer AT3230 which looks a bit nicer and also has built in HD tuner, so I'm considering that instead even though it's 400 dollars more.

    r u sure it does ?

I found this sale - LINK

and it says its analogue. that price is not bad ... and comes with standard 12 month warranty.

waht do u guys think? if not , I am off to BIG W tomorrow then to get one ...
