  1. Ever tried one of these noise meters? Trouble with this stuff is that I am sure some of the improvements may** be imagined but when there is doubt about the results you do start to wonder. ?
  2. Done that. They have the same EMI meter and said maybe it's not the last word in reliable readings. Now the sun has gone down and all those pesky solar panels have stopped working for the day I thought I'd go and try again. This time, straight to the wall gives me 1047 mV. Plugged into the Sigmas I get 233 mV. Interesting how it has made a difference this time and not a couple hours ago. Maybe listening at night time really does make an improvement! I will plug the Thor power board in tomorrow and see how it goes with the stereo connected (as suggested by Isotek as well).
  3. The bluehorizon looks a little more expensive than the one I got but still. The meter must be doing something because the readings dropped by half with the Thor filtered board I bought when they were on special for $30! It seems like the Isotek Sigmas isn’t doing a great deal right now. ?
  4. Got a $130 line EMI meter from Ebay today and was keen to try it out. (image 1) Plugged it into the closest wall socket and got a reading of around 1650 mv (image 2) Next I tried the filtered socket on a Thor Smart Filter and the reading was 809 mv (image 3) Next, expecting even better results from the Isotek Sigmas Evo3 (image 4) Tried all the connections and the reading came in around 1690 mv on the Sigmas (image 5). Hmm, either the meter is faulty else the Sigmas makes exactly zero difference (and it's on a dedicated power circuit to boot!).
  5. I have one of these. After going through a couple different phono stages I’ll be keeping this one. I’m sure the new owner will be happy.
  6. Something like the one Bill sold recently might have been nice.
  7. I just had both done to mine but in Brisbane. Had the interior professionally steam cleaned- no more stains or smells. Worthwhile putting protectant on the cloth seats afterwards too. The APR tune came in at $660 and provided a noticeable improvement. https://www.goapr.com/dealers/ Mine was a manual though- I'd be a little hesitant with the DSG but I'm sure you've done the homework. Happy with the outcome ?
  8. Very sweet introduction to an LP12. This is great value for money! I’m sure it will be sold soon...
  9. Nice Bill. Are the boutique silver cables any better than the nice silver cable I have from you already? I am surprised there isn’t a sold sign on these already!
  10. I think if you are selling more than one item the price is mean't to reflect the total. It's written in the conditions under your ad. Hope that clears up my confusion.
  11. Hi. Is $350 the price for both power cables? I'm keen if it is. Thanks
  12. Nice work there Steve. I have heard there is a guy down the Gold Coast doing same thing ?
  13. My turntable sits on a buffet without any problems. I wouldn’t put it directly on top of any other components though.
  14. I am pretty sure that Nephorsis sold that one. I understand he lives in a flat and was going to use the proceeds of the sale to put towards a regenerator.
  15. You will be pleased to know they come up regularly here, pre loved, for around the $1200 mark. Not bad value in the scheme of things. I can’t speak for everyone but I was pleasantly surprised with the results, not really expecting to hear any improvement.
  16. The Synchro cable is 2m long as it has a fairly heavy weight right in the middle for the circuitry. Probably need this length so the weight isn’t suspended putting stress on the connections. There are local makers that will make you a cable in custom lengths if you want. Isotek aren’t the only brand in town ?
  17. The Isotek Evo3 Syncro Cable is a bit of a relative bargain 2nd hand. Sorts out any DC issues with everything connected from the Sigmas too.
  18. I put an isotek evo3 synchro cable to my sigmas and did notice an improvement. Previously ran an Optimum to the sigmas.
  19. They look fantastic- and I bet they sound that way too! Nice work Bill ?
  20. I had a pair of these until recently. What kind of sound you ask? Very nice sound is the answer ?
  21. Very nice. I will be in the market for one of these and a Gieseler Kompact dac when I get back into streaming.
  22. Not long now- Australia Post sent a message with tracking. Should only take a couple weeks to come across town now that they have it!
