  1. I think all your potential buyers stocked up on the liquidated Thor boards...
  2. I’m thinking maybe my cable is so quick all the time because everybody has moved across to the super NBN and I’m the only one left! I have another year to go until I have to migrate so I’m sure there will be better deals by then. Really wished we would get fibre but ended up with hybrid as the only option- no big advantage to what I have now 😞
  3. Thanks Rantan. Just thought I’d put my 2c in to help the discussion along 🙂 Ive got another year to go before I have to change my current plan.
  4. 50 mbs plan which lists 40 mbs as typical evening speeds- as per their description. Deceiptful and misleading practice is they give the impression by saying same plan and data allowance as what you are currently on. No where do they say same speed but it’s implied. Sales person I rang to confirm the speed (they list 4 different nbn plans on the letter but don’t actually say which one you will be on) said he can sympathise but there is nothing I can do apart from paying more.
  5. I received a new modem by courier from Telstra earlier this week unannounced. Included was a letter from Telstra saying congratulations and just plug it in and I’ll be on the same plan and data allowance as my current plan at no additional cost! Sounded good but there is always a catch... I get a consistent 110 mbs on my current cable- when I rang to confirm the NBN speed they told me 40 mbs! So, for the same money my speed will drop from 110 down to 40- I said no thanks and sent it back. If I had have plugged in my new “free” modem I would have been totally screwed. Surely this is misleading and deceitful practice by Telstra?
  6. Sale pending payment...
  7. Item: DC Blocker Location: Brisbane Price: $120 posted Item Condition: VGC Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Purchased in August this year from here: DC Blocker Trap Filter – Assembled in Case – v.3 | ATL Audio Ltd. WWW.ATLHIFI.COM I was getting some annoying hum in a power supply and this certainly reduced it. I chose and English connector as Australian type ones weren't available and bought an adaptor to suit (included). Having had a dedicated 32A line installed for my stereo I find that hum is no longer an issue. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not b
  8. Item: Linn LP12 Turntable with Armageddon Location: Brisbane Price: $3250 Item Condition: Used but VGC Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: Pickup Brisbane only thanks- Cash, Paypal (you pay fees) Extra Info: Linn LP12 Turntable with Naim Armageddon power supply- Pickup Brisbane This is quite a nice turntable with a number of upgrades over the standard. The serial number of this deck is 59838, which puts it between 1984 and 1988 manufacture. Most parts have been replaced within the last 18 months, leaving the Ittok VII Tonearm, the Afromosia plinth and the perspex cover as original. Over the last 18 months I have had fitted: Cirkus kit- inner platter, Cirkus bearing, springs, grommets, belt and felt mat New outer platter Stack Audio Ultimate Top Plate Linn Kore Subchassis Trampolin 2 Base Board New Linn Motor New lid hinges Audio Technica AT PTG/II moving coil cart (approx 200 hours use) Naim Armageddon Power Supply New RCA plugs The deck was most recently totally rebuilt and setup by Decibel HiFi (20th May 2019) when the new top plate was fitted. The condition overall is very good however there are some very small marks on the plinth (not really noticeable) and the perspex dust cover (being original does have some small scratches which I think are unavoidable). My next upgrade was going to be a Krystal Cart then I think I'd be done (for the time being).... This is a nice sounding deck I was planning on keeping but, as I have another, one must go. There are no boxes for the turntable but the Armageddon however is boxed. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  9. Send Brian Madden an email or give him a buzz at Decibel HiFi.
  10. I like RossB’s idea of trying a nice MC cart and a comparable stage on your current Rega. Best part is that if you still want to change tables after that you can keep the phono stage and cart.
  11. LP12 is a nice deck and you can easily go nutz with upgrades. Since you are in Melbourne I’d check out the Kuzma Stabi S with a Lyra Delos cart and suitable phono stage. It’s a nice sounding combo. Whole lot cheaper than a Ref table but not far off the sound. You can do quite a few upgrades to the Stabi by mounting different/ multiple arms as well.
  12. They look like really nice little speakers. I want to buy them but can’t figure out where to put them! Oh well. I’m sure these won’t last long. Glwts
  13. Welcome Tim, You will still be listening to music long after you’ve forgotten about the tennis! Enjoy Tim
