Goodness me.   I've started something  :D

What will be the next? I really enjoy doing creative designs with input from others 🙄

Besides the design. I hope you will be at the 2018 Melbourne international HiFi show to hear the m8-nana and all the other parts!

2. Instapak foam is a great option. We use it to send some of the odd items we don't have specific packaging for, such as speaker stands.

See this short video to get an idea of how it works...

The only problem is they normally sell in full boxes with approx 100 bags in each making the lot cost $500-$1000 depending on size and supplier.

We are happy to help supply single pieces or small numbers to help the community since we stock and use these in our production. We currently have an Ebay listing for two pieces for $39 incl shipping. Hardly worth it for us, but I hope it can help a few of you if you are in a jam to ship expensive equipment securely.

Full disclosure: We are a commercial speaker manufacturing company and we do have financial interests in selling these Instapak expanding foam bags.

4. One of a kind prototype subwoofer

AUD 590.00

• Active sealed box subwoofer
• 8 inch extended excursion driver
• 300W RMS continuous power Superior Class-D amplifier
• 28Hz -3dB anechoic (typical 22Hz in room)

The Sub One8 was superseded by the Sub OneTen before it ever made production. The market for 8 inch subwoofers is very limited which is why this subwoofer was dropped, even though it is extremely capable and actually reaches deeper than the larger Sub OneTen.

We now need the space for new projects in our prototyping area so this one has to go.

Get all the specs here:

Thanks for looking

That might not be the actual case here. I'm not saying you're wrong, but with the information provided I don't know how you could know to be right. Of course regarding "harshness" this could be caused by a multitude of factors, "tonal balance" just one of them.

@Satanica I completely agree with you! Speaking very general terms here mainly on why metal may not work well on some systems. Of course many many factors are in play, yes we're in comple agreement... I think 😏

I think it could surprise many people to realise how dramatically you can change a speaker, from unlistenable to engaging and musical.

@Paul Spencer I definitely agree with you! Which is part of the reason there really is no ideal speaker that everyone will like under all conditions... trust your ears, and don't be afraid to stray from what others tell you is right ;)

8. Mark_dk my partner thought it was funny when I advised her about our 'Skoll!!' episodes. I felt like I was on Vikings or a SBS drama series. [emoji3]

Actually never seen that Viking show! Need to get onto that. I've heard it kinda cool.
@martykt it looked like you enjoyed drinking beer by the bucket? I know I certainly did! Perhaps a little bit too much [emoji6]
