  1. Further information: Up until very recently, I was using this minimalist system in my home office. It is ideal for a small apartment or office. The asking price includes: - integrated amplifier - Kenwood A45 (40w per channel into 8 ohms) - cd player - Kenwood DP950 - am/fm stereo synthesiser/tuner - Kenwood T65 - original remote control - Kenwood RC45E - small bookshelf speakers - Cerwin Vega V5M (160w x 200d x 270h) - bluetooth streamer - Audioengine B1 - Kenwood components are circa 1993 - price is firm and all components must be sold together I understand that this is probably not the usual "cup of tea" for SNA members. At the same time, it is not really practical, or worth the cost, to ship this system (with all of these components). However I need to move it on and I am thinking that, especially with the Audioengine B1 included as part of the package, a Perth SNA member may know someone that could use an easy and reliable, lower end fix like this. For the price and everything included, this really is a terrific, good looking modular system. Inspection will not disappoint. I will even throw in the Jimmy Buffet CD in the pics 🙂 Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  2. Item: Shure 1540 closed back headphones Price Range: Around $350 plus $25 for Express Post Item Condition: Newish or Minimal Use Extra Info: Near new condition preferred
  3. As far as I know, it is your call. There is a DIY video somewhere on the PS Audio website
  4. No payment as yet, so this PS Audio DAC/Pre-amp/Bridge unit is still available. Moving forward, here are a few factors to consider, when comparing the PS Audio DSD and the PWD: 1. The DirectStream DAC (DSD) is actually a later/upgraded edition of the PerfectWave DAC (PWD) 2. They both reside in the same or very similar PS Audio "box" 3. The PerfectWave for sale here can be upgraded to a DirectStream 4. The PerfectWave Mk2 DAC is pretty damn good and exceptional value for just $2k or thereabouts 5. A new DirectStream, with a Bridge, would cost somewhere close to $10k 6. At the same time, it is just over $4k to upgrade the PWD to become a DSD 7. If you are on a restricted budget, I believe you may find the value of the DirectStream upgrade questionable, compared to a PerfectWave at $2k? 8. In any event, if you buy this PWD you can decide later, about upgrading, and don't have to outlay anywhere near as much in the first instance This link provides some real world prices for a new DSD and the PWD upgrade to DSD: https://hificollector.com.au/product-category/brands/ps-audio/ In summary, all I can say is that the PerfectWave is very good DAC and, if you purchase this PWD, at an entry level price (for PS Audio gear), you then have the option to upgrade to the DirectStream (or not), at any time in the future, or on sell it. I have recently purchased an April Music Eximus CD5, which is a few years old now, but new price was around AU$14k. The Eximus CD5 has a very high end DAC, which is externally accessible, and this is the only reason I am selling the PerfectWave.
  5. Further information: Can be upgraded to a DirectStream edition Photos: I acquired this PWD fairly recently, privately in WA, as a Mark 1 version and have since upgraded it to a Mark 2. I am guessing that anyone interested in this unit will already know all about the PS Audio PerfectWave DAC. In any event, plenty of info available on line. This unit can also be used as a Pre-amp. Since upgrading, I have had it working flawlessly through the Bridge Mark 1, via ethernet, streaming from my Mini Mac server, using JRiver app. I was very happy with the result and am only selling because I have (unexpectedly) just upgraded to very high end CD player, which has an equally high end DAC, that is externally accessible. I do also have the remote control. As per the pics, external appearance is very good, with no blemishes that I can see. So, in the circumstances, PWD no longer required. The asking price includes shipping Australia wide.
  6. Thanks for heads up Tom Coincidentally, have just sold it to same party - without checking the WTB until I saw your post just now Cheers Bruce
  7. Further information: Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved. I have simplified my main system and less pieces require less interconnects. These cables are a few years and provide excellent value for money, compared to latest models and prices. Asking price includes express postage if shipping is required.
  8. Further information: Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved. Purchased new in 2018 to experiment with. Comes with power supply and standard toslink cable This DAC works well for price and does what it is supposed to, however now no longer required because I have a far more expensive DAC in play. https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/schiit-audio-modi-multibit-digital-to-analog-converter Asking price will cover express postage if shipping is required.
  9. Further information: Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved. Purchased new, quite recently, from Addicted to Audio in Perth, as an interim measure. https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/cables/products/cardas-parsec-digital-cable?variant=16063974979 Performs well at the price point, however I have since acquired a Transparent Audio Premium, which is like six times the RRP values Prepared to include express postage in the asking price.
  10. Further information: Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved. I bought these cables used, a couple of years ago from Simply Hifi for around the same price I am now asking. New price appears to approx US$2,000 A full description, as well as current new pricing, can be found via the links pasted in heres https://www.bocchtech.com/bocchinoaudio/MayFlower.html https://www.bocchtech.com/bocchinoaudio/MayFlower_Pricing.html Nothing at all wrong with these cables, it is just that the "interior designer" is seeking coordination and no longer approves of red cables. Asking price includes express postage Australia wide.
  11. Item: Auralic Aries Femto w/Linear Power Supply Price Range: circa $1,000 Item Condition: Used/Excellent Extra Info: Please PM to discuss Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  12. Sorry, I didn't answer the volume control question, yes you can control the volume from the PWD.
  13. Hi Snook, I don't have any personal experience with what you are asking, however I have just cut and paste this from the PS Audio website: The PWD and DirectStream DACs were designed to work either into a preamplifier or directly into a power amplifier. Using our PerfectWave DACs directly into the power amplifier is, for the most part, the best choice for sound quality because it bypasses the preamplifier’s added stage. One less stage to go through always gives you better sound quality. There are circumstances where a preamplifier may be preferred for either sound quality reasons or connecting cable length issues. A PerfectWave DAC is easily capable of driving a 3 to 4 meter interconnect but longer runs may be better when driven through a preamplifier. This can be determined through listening tests. Based on this, it seems as though it would probably do what you describe in your post. Here is a link to the full article: https://www.psaudio.com/ps_how/how-to-connect-a-perfectwave-dac-directly-to-your-amplifier-or-subwoofer/ You could also talk to the team at Magenta Audio (08) 8390 1673. They are the Australian distributors for PS Audio and have been pretty helpful to me, when I did the Mark 2 upgrade. If anyone else reads this post and can offer more definitive comments, please chime in? Regards Bruce
