Hello,
I am not very talkative (quite obvious, as the quest for [hifi] sound is rooted in solitude, sound being a _private_ space), but happy to join this platform.
hello and welcome
hope you enjoy getting involved here

I have the 2011 cut also by BG.
Agree 100% this is fantastic - music n artistry, plus production n pressing. Like you're in the garage recording studio with them.

Continuing with the recent trend where a bunch of random audio tech is grouped into a must have or must try or top gift list by authors (probably using AI) with at most a casual glancing interest in music playback. Similar to the ol' "top 5 blar-blar for 2023" story/ad where every item just happens to be 1 click away via Amazon.
Here we are introduced to the "audiophile enthusiast". Reminds me of my brother the keen surfer. Never been surfing but is none the less keen to give it a go...

Thoughts?
I like how SQ or the listening experience has almost nothing to do with being on the list
Any other examples?

i have a similar vintage AT cart with the same black diamond ATN 12EX
this is good value
this was a top combo back in the day and easily still holds it's own today. it's only outperformed by Shibata stylus option that you could consider at replacement/upgrade time.
my understanding is BD stylus is a square nude elliptical, not all but it was common that the original AT ATN12EX was not always the superior squared stone

few nights back watched this 2015 Christmas pop-horror. as far as giving you what it says on the tin - full marks. given the choice I'd put this on over Love Actually. as a bonus we get our Toni Collette, David Hoechner, Adam Scott,

Hi all, I’ve long been interested in vintage hifi equipment, but mostly on a fairly naive and superficial level. I’m hoping to learn more from this forum about the variety and options available for components, on a quest to reproduce music in greater detail and delight in the discovery of what music “can” sound like with the right equipment and environment.
hi Dylan and welcome

get that TT up on to it's own solo unit, bit of thought and blend it into the greenery
(apologies if you've done or plan to do any of these already)
clean the cartridge stylus (there's various approaches)
check/re-do the carts alignment if you know how (some good tutorials on YT)
clean the record - spray and/or carbon brush
as already suggested consider new separate phono followed by a new cart / stylus

last night watched these as a "Christmas double" with a mate
i thought the link was the director - Richard Donner. not so, he only did Scrooged. but my mate off the top of his head knew that Donner worked on Lethal Weapon with Shane Back the writer, who directed KKBB.

i've seen it suggested to use over head cable rack - I'm not 100% on the trade name
comes in all widths to match thickness of foam. with good tin snips you take a wedge out of the side-edge and crease here to box it in.
i'll see if i can find for details to share (not that I've employed the approach)

Im sure they have an Audio tapper. Additive resistance. You can adjust how hard the click is from light to heavy.

Giddy, so excited to be part of this community. Am obsessed with 60s 70s and 80s music. Had my very significant collection stolen decades ago and am still trying to recover it..

one time living in london, one of the busses to work would pass a Stratos. squeezed into some front yard/courtyard (less that a ft each side). maybe on blocks? it never moved in the year I took that bus. was the high light of the work day. I would kno the optimal seats up top n everything. haha
