  1. I also have the JBL. I love it, the wife loves it and my kids love it. Can stream roon to it, almost with cover art( it drops out, I’m sure a update will fix..) I can watch YouTube and Stan. When it’s in standby it’s a digital photo frame using my photos from google photos. I can video call to and from it. And last but not least it sounds great. Especially when I’m lazy and just ask google for some music..
  2. Would buying an Mscaler negate the need of a more expensive chord dac. Ie mscaler into cutest gives you over a million taps. What benefits would a tt2 or a Dave give you?
  3. How does the Signiture one compare with the USbridge. DAC dependant? I have a 2qute dac.

I had to chance to listen to some 25.26's hooked up to an Audio research Gsi75 integrated tube amp the other day. Thanks to Tony at Douglas Hifi in Perth! Sounded pretty sweet and more enjoyable than the 700w SS monos, he had hooked up previously. Given that this amp is $25K, Tony recommended( a cheaper option) that I listen to a Primaluna amp. Anybody tried one, how did it go? Seems like everyone is recommending 300w plus SS amps for these speakers...
  5. Actually I am in the same boat. I have a Oppo 203 which has to reside in a different setup, but when I connected it to my 2qute sounded pretty bloody good. So am I right in saying that any good older CDP will perform well as a transport? Or is a better option to go for something new like a Cambridge CXC. Or ditch cd all together and go for a sms-200ultra? Budget up to $1000.

What do people like best about their PMC’s? For me so far it’s the revealing nature while still, for the most part, being easy to listen to.

And it’s not just the interface that scores highly, as they’re also blessed with a sonic finesse that opens up the music to show it at its best, while being equally forgiving of poorer sources. Treat them to some hi-res material and they’ll really show just what they’re capable of." Presentation of every musical style is clear and unfussy; the combo offers a deep and detailed insight into the action and follows every impulse with lightning speed. It never loses sight of the musical flow: sound events on the Primares are always a finely woven and spatially generous in width and depth across every genre. The individual frequency ranges blend with each other in a harmonious balance, which means that the combo is right extended listening sessions, because it is always without harshness." http://www.primare.net/products/pre32-preamplifier/ Pictures:

    Vincent bargain time is here.

Thanks mate have solved the problem with some rothwell attenuators. It is apparent now that the 3v output was too hot for the 2v SA94. The Primare Pre 32 has a massive 10v input acceptance. Sounding damn fine on my PMC25.26s.

    Control 4

Would not a harmony elite do the functions of control 4 at a fraction of the cost?

Yep diamond black is a dust magnet!!! Mine came with a microfiber cloth. The PMC finishes at least on the 25 series are all pretty good. The diamond black looks better IRL.
  12. Soory to be thick, but exactly what is the purpose of the mscaler? It is just a upsampler? Can ROON not do the same job? I thought that my 2qute DAC was relatively immune to a up-sampled song. ie little difference Apart from marketing and getting people to splash more cash, why is this not a integral part of an existing dac?
  13. Mclaren? These must sound really powerful and fast.......

I've got a twenty5.26 in a 3x5m room with a similar ceiling. I sit 1.5 -2m away. I have mine about 800mm off front wall and about that off side wall. They sound bloody fantastic. I thought it might be a bit big for the room, but PMC itself says that the transmission line design make it easier to place and I'd have to agree. I can go reasonably loud ok without too much drama. I demo'd some dynaudio countour 60s and they prob went a bit louder but also worked the rather large semi treated demo room producing some surprising resonances. And they are bloody humungous! In reference to the LS50. In comparison the kefs sound like its underwater. I never really gelled with them, and the PMC revealed some other hidden system issues immediately! Anybody want to buy some LS50s? Anybody?..😜 I'd say get the 20.23's !

Also PMC say that it"ll take like 100hrs for speaker to run in and settle. My 25.26 just keep getting better and better.
