  1. Wonderful sounding DAC , at a great price. I have one and enjoy digital music every day with it The NOS mode is brilliant.
  2. Nope but you can read about them here : https://www.dynaudio.com/dynaudio-academy/2017/june/what-s-inside-the-special-forty
  3. Hi James, seeing that you have Dynaudios, have you tried/thought about their Special40's ? Wonderful open detailed accurate sound and good bass , esp for a bookshelf. You have some solid Amps there in Rotel btw.
  4. Gabehcuod, i have a new Denafrips Ares II and im very pleased with it, highly revolving yet smooth and natural, this is my second NOS dacs, theyre the best to my ears by far. BTW, I have a spare superb Yamaha MX830 amp superb 170watts p. channel (8 ohm) from the 90's
  5. I believe the Hypex Class D 'sound' is largely due to the choice of Op-amp used. Sonic Imagery (crisp) is very different to Sparkos (warm) etc. I had a dual NC500 Hypex amp, but sold it as i couldnt find the right sounding op-amp . Also yes there was a strange 'thinness' to certain high frequencies within the 2k - 6k freq band.
  6. Metrum Octave Mk II Dac , non-oversampling (NOS) , excellent condition, works as new, smooth, warm and liquid sound, excellent dynamics, wonderful and engaging . I bought it new from local dealer Magenta about 5 yrs ago. I've upgraded to the new Metrum Jade, your chance to move into Metrums fantastic NOS products for little money .. new was $1600 ! Insured shipping, at your cost. https://witchdoctor.co.nz/index.php/2015/02/metrum-acoustics-octave-mkii-nos-mini-dac-review/ http://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/metrum-acoustics-octave-mkii-dac Photos: Adver
