  1. Thanks to all comments.. Much appreciated. BTW, i downloaded free demo of Tidal, but not the lossless version. Through a usb, i cant pick the difference from Spotify. Is the lossless much better?
  2. Thanks guys, too good and cheap to be true...looks like I will live with the cables..... :-( Appreciate the comments.
  3. I cant call myself an audiophile, however i love good music and sound. For some convenience, i want to be able to stream music from PC to my system. I do understand that the music files on say Spotify aren't brilliant but, once again for convenience it is sometimes adequate for the purpose using USB connection. My system comprises of NAD M51 DAC, Bel Canto Evo2 Gen 2 integrated and Dali Ikon 6 speakers. which together sound quite good. Also an Arcam Alpha 10 for phono stage. If i were to use a google Chromecast audio device into my DAC would this work ok say using a Toslink connection, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Any thoughts or advice appreciated.
  4. @SPR08Y I looked at this thread in a fleeting moment of distraction... but i am so glad i did. IMO the additional sensory input (ASI) pretty much melds with the audio connectivity and functionality (AC&F) and concentrates its influence on the affluence of what is sometimes a hot topic. ....sorry just light hearted banter. IMRHO(real) I know that if what I look at aint sweet, it doesn't matter what it sounds like....i aint goin there.
  5. good question ..but i dont know
  6. I fit into the confused group of hi fi listeners so just need someone to give some advice on this. My Rega Planar TT goes into an integrated amp with phono stage(Arcam Alpha 10) then going into an integrated without a phono stage( Bel Canto Evo 2 Gen 2) and all sounds ok to me. Question is, would it be better for me to replace the integrated amp with phono for a : 1) phono pre stage or 2) pre amp with phono stage Appreciate any advice
  7. Thanks for the advice Andrew, much appreciated.
  8. Ok thanks djb.. does that mean if i had a phono pre like the NAD pp2e i could not run it directly through the integrated amp if that does not have a phono stage?
  9. Thanks for that Spider..Yeah they really are a great all round solid speaker that handles all genre of music. I would love to keep them stashed but you know.. better and bigger ...the itch doesn't go away. Saw another recent add for some Focal Mini Utopia at a real bargain price but alas..out of my price range. I'll keep dreamin :-)
  10. Hello all. I am relatively new to this forum but have found it most enlightening and extremely informative to a novice like myself. I had finished my outdoor man cave and just needed to get some sound happening... started looking at some relatively cheap second hand equipment. Ended up buying an old small Luxman amp to go with my old DM 302 speakers. Soon realized my man cave was way too big for a small sound......Had to upgrade. Currently have Rega Planer Turntable, Arcam Alpha 10 integrated which I use a pre amp for the turntable, Bel Canto Evo 2 gen2 integrated, NAD M52 DAC with Dali Ikon 6 speakers. I'm very happy with the sound but needed someone to set me straight on the pre amp for the MM turntable. I think the Alpha 10 is a bit of an overkill as far as power is concerned, also runs quite warm, so I was considering a smaller phono pre like the NAD PP2e. Appreciate anyone with any thoughts on this or am I better to stick with the Alpha 10?

  13. Hi all, I have only just purchased a secondhand Bel Canto EVO 2 amp and have some real basic stuff that i need to replace. Currently I have a set of B&W DM 602S3 and although i like these old speakers, i'm not sure if they will do justice to the EVO amp. I have also purchased an Arcam A10 amp which i will use for a phono stage. Haven't received the two amps but interested to know if i am going down the right path. I listen to most genres of music and want a good all round system with clarity and a bit of power for when the red wine flows. Love to hear your thoughts
  14. @getdisdude Hi There, did you sell the amp? if not i'm still interested Regards Vaughan
