  1. Item: Nikko 5055 Receiver Location: Sydney - Inner West Price: $350 ONO Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Have just purchased some mono blocks and need to create some room Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Extra Info: Nikko 5055 Stereo Receiver. This was my first receiver that I bought off a mate 20 years ago and has been my main amp for most of those years. Due to these nostalgic reasons in late 2017 I spent about $550 to have completely refurbished by the techs at Len Wallis who did a fantastic job at restoring it to a top sound with the receiver especially sounding fantastic. All works as it should and a great chance to get a restored classic receiver. Only selling because I have just purchased some mono blocks and have another valve amp on the way so need to clear some space and it is too nice just to sit in the garage. More details here: https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/nikko/5055.shtml Pickup only at this stage please. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  2. From what I've read, Massdrop seems like a PITA. I bought a pair of HD650s from a local shop brand new for $489 AU a few months ago. Compared to the approx $350 AU it would cost after shipping from Massdrop, I decided to take the local option as I could return it if I didn't like it and would have someone local to speak to if there was any issues.
  3. Item: Sennheiser HD-25 II headphones Location: Sydney (Inner West) Price: $150 ONO Item Condition: Near Mint Reason for selling: Too many headphones Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Transfer Extra Info: Selling a set of the legendary Sennheiser HD-25 II headphones. They are approx. 5 years old but I have just replaced the old earpds/headband pads with brand new official Sennheiser earpads and headband pads so they present as brand new. Working perfectly and very easy to drive for portable listening. They were only used in the home and occasional interstate trips but not used for DJ purposes, etc. Happy to ship at buyers expense. 4. Hi, 1. Yes, I preferred the sound of the Hana in my system. 2. I meant I cannot comment on how the Otello would sound on a Rega because I have not heard it on one. Thanks
  5. Hi, I actually ended up getting Hana SL which has stayed in my system since. I’ve kept the Otello though. Would still recommend it although I’m not sure how it goes with the P3.

  11. Thanks for that. I also ended up trying out a pair of Sennheiser HD 650s and although the general consensus seems to be that you need a headamp to run em, the PM-5 drives them well. Might have a look down the track though to see how a headamp sounds though.
  12. Dipping my toes into headphones and trying out a pair of AKG 702s running through my old Marantz PM-5. My question is what extra do headphone amps bring? What can one expect with a headphone amp?
