  1. Further Information: Up for sale, a closely matched pair of 1970's Foton 6N6P (5687, ECC99, E182CC) USSR. I was informed that these tubes would work in my BHK Preamp but I delved further before using them and I believe that whilst the voltage is OK, the current requirements are too much for the BHK preamp so they might burn our or trip the unit. These are used in a lot of BAT & some Schiit preamps and other devices that can deliver the necessary current. Not in original boxes. Will be shipped securely with tracking. Paypal as a friend only please.

  3. I've been struggling getting my Roon Rock (Intel NUC I5 7th gen) up and running since last week. It's in an Akasa fanless case. It's on the list of Roon tested NUCs and it has been running Roon Rock fine up to this point. At some point, last week my NUC decided to disconnect from my network. Since that time, no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work. I tried re-installing the Roon Rock image, reset the Rock, tried to restore a backup etc. I tried many times to get this to work. I use the Roon Rock at work and we have a Cisco router so I even transported the unit to another location in case there was some issue with communication across my network. I ended up in a loop where I can see the Roon Rock on my network via Roon Remote, I can pick it and then it tells me that the Rock needs an update. It starts the update and then it just sits for hours doing nothing. The annoying thing is, I'm downloading the latest Roon Rock image from the Roon site and it is an old Build. In fact, as of the other week, Roon have not updated the Rock image for about 8 months. If they had a current build up there then I could at least get past this hanging. I thought it might have been an hardware issue with the NUC to just for sh*ts and giggles, I completely re-formatted the SSD and then installed WIN10 on it. It worked perfectly, so there is nothing wrong with it hardware wise. Roon is really starting to get my goat. I have a large collection of ripped and downloaded FLAC and DSD files but my Roon backups are huge. Each backup is 3.7gb.. All I have are about 15 playlists and some MUSE settings. How on earth can a backup be 3.7gb each? Now I'd be willing to forgive the huge backups if Roon were robust. But it's not. I think 6 times in the last 2 years, when an update has come through, it has broken roon and I've had to do a complete restore from a backup. And sometimes, the backups fail and I have to revert to an older one (thank goodness I have set roon to multiple 3 backups). However, on 2 occasions, ALL the backups failed and I had to start again. Just to rub salt into the wound, my experience with getting help on the roon forums has been pretty poor at times. I've had to wait days for a response from support when I logged a case. I understand from providing support myself that sometimes you'll get a user that has an unusual issue and sometimes they will be doing things on their PC that have caused the issue but I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary (unless playing music is considered out the ordinary) and I really find Roon to be very fragile. And to add salt to the wounds, there are the occasional forum member who'll jump on the support case and offer a useless (and sometimes condescending) piece of advice. So now I've proven that the NUC works just fine, I'm faced with either keeping WIN10 on there and running the Roon Core on it as a semi-headless unit (not my preference) or trying to reinstall roon rock. Bugger. I am on holidays but I'd rather not spend hours swearing at a monitor. Just my end of year rant.....
  4. Hopefully this will work: You will need to go into the old core and do a backup (this takes ages and backups can be large). You will first need to disconnect the new core. Go into the old core and reactivate it if required. You may need to repath to the library (NAS or external hard drive or wherever the roon library is). Do a backup and to make things simpler, use something like a large capacity thumb drive or a 2.5" external hard drive. Now deactivate the old core. Start the new core and activate if required. Path to the library if required. Go to backups and choose restore backup and find the root of the backup folder on your 2.5" / thumbdrive. Wait......... Hopefully, the process will work as long as the library is unaltered between the 2 cores.
  5. Further Information: Up for sale, a Wireworld Platinum 7 HDMI/I2S cable. The WW Platinum Starlight USB and HMDI cables in my experience, the best digital cables of their respective kind. I have tried a lot of expensive cables and none have approached the dynamics, smoothness and detail that the WW PS cables can deliver. Payment via PayPal using Friends & Family or buyer pays fees.
  6. Further Information: With a 10.1" HD screen that’s designed to move with you, video calls and TV shows are always in view Ask Alexa to play your favourite shows, music, and podcasts Use Amazon Photos to turn your home screen into a digital frame https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/amazon-echo-show-10-3rd-gen
  7. Further Information: Wireworld Starlight 7 Platinum Solid Silver DNA Helix USB Cable 1.5m length with original metal carry box, certificate, packaging etc. The WW PS 7 is best USB I have experienced in all my buying and selling. It is refined, detailed and dynamic. It gives a feeling of a live performance rather than a replication of a performance. I prefer the Starlight 7 sound signature to the 8 series. Postage included in price. Paypal as a friend only please.
  8. Further Information: Coherence Systems is owned by the guy that sold the qcoil technology to Nordost. The Add Powr stuff has similar devices in the range to the Nordost offerings but have improvements in the implementation of the concept. The Wizard is similar conceptually to the Nordost QX4 power purifiers. The explanation is that it adds low frequency square waves to the mains waveform. I have no idea what mechanism is at play but the Wizard has a pretty immediate effect once you switch it on. There are quite a few owners and reviewers that have described the improvements very accurately, however, ultimately, the best way I can sum up the effects of the unit are that it makes music much more enjoyable, engaging and helps you understand the emotional content of the music. The Add Powr also seems to be able to "spread" its effects across your mains network. I can attach it to a different circuit and still hear its effects, though not as powerfully as when it is on the same circuit as my stereo setup. These guys seem to have nailed it - https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/i-have-had-the-add-powr-wizard-in-my-system-for-a-couple-of-weeks-and-i?sort_order=asc https://www.audioaficionado.org/showthread.php?p=1048299 https://tweekgeek.blogspot.com/2020/12/add-powr-wizard-review-comparison-to.html Payment by Paypal only please. I will cover post inside Australia with insurance. These units are not supplied with a power cable - I can supply a generic kettle cable if you require one. They run on universal voltage.
  9. Further Information: I bought these for a project that is not going to come to fruition. The Paintable Broadband panels have a very wide range of absorption and can be painted to match any wall colour. In addition to this, the performance can actually be tuned through varying the thickness of the paint applied to the face and sides. Thicker paint gives better low frequency absorption and less high frequency attenuation. A light spray paint will arguably give the best overall balance of low and high absorption. 2 boxes in total meaning a total of 12 panels covering of 2.4 sqm. Corner mounting or mounting offset from a wall will further enhance the low frequency absorption. https://www.primacoustic.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/BroadwayWallPanels-EDS-02-2023.pdf (page 2) https://www.ambertech.com.au/paintable-acoustic-panel-24-x-24-x-2-square-white-6pcs I opened one of the boxes to take a photo. All panels are totally unused. Local pickup makes most sense. But I can freight at cost. Paypal as a friend please.
  10. Further Information: Up for sale, 2 boxes of Sonitus Acoustics Leviter Shape 8 Acoustic Panels in White – total of 12 panels. I got these for a listening room that never eventuated due to the space being repurposed as a home office. These panels absorb well down to 200hz. They have an attractive and durable velvet finish with a high performance foam substrate (USAP). I do not have the magnets that attach to the wall but they do have the magnets on the rear of the panel. Price has been reduced a bit to reflect this. They will still work perfectly without them - I was planning on using some light duty 3M Command velcro strips anyway. The boxes are pretty bulky so local pickup is the best option. I could post at cost but it might be prohibitive due to the volume of the boxes. Cash or Paypal on pickup. I can freight at cost but pickup is obviously more logical. RRP $699 per box. Specs: 60x60x8cm (SKU : LEV_SH8_*COLOR SKU) Material >*USAP - Unique Sonitus Acoustic Polyester - fire resistant FMVSS 302 <100mm/min > Soft velvet coating in different colors http://www.sonitusacoustics.eu/18/product/leviter-shape
  11. Further Information: These are exceptionally good cables that have only been bettered by some much more expensive Audience cables. They offer annealed solid core pure Silver conductors with sold copper rhodium plated connectors and copper screening. The Robertson cables offer excellent levels of detail and great timbre but, in do not have any hint of glare or brightness. Having compared the Elite connectors (rhodium) to the Reference (copper plated), the former offer a hint more smoothness and refinement. These were a special order from Warwick, he describes the configuration as "quasi balanced" to eliminate hum. Female XLR (this connects to the output of your device). As new with box. Will post with tracking. Paypal as a friend only please.
  12. Further Information: The SPL TDx 500 Series Transient Designer Module is installed in a single slot of the 500-series rack module and is used to amplify or attenuate attacks and prolong or shorten the sustain. It features the Differential Envelope Technology (DET) that allows level-independent dynamic processing of signal paths by calculating differences in generated envelopes. These envelopes track the curve of the original signal to provide optimal results. Therefore, only two controls per channel are required to allow you to completely reshape the attack and sustain characteristics of a sound. Thanks to the MIX (parallel mix) feature, you can continuously blend between the processed and unprocessed signal. The transient designer is suitable for use in professional recording, project or home studios, and in sound-reinforcement applications. Applied to single instruments or loops, it allows you to create new sounds and/or effects. Features Single-slot 500-series rack module Extended SPL’s original Transient Designer circuitry Parallel Mix Control: Blend between processed and unprocessed signal Attack Control: Amplify or attenuate attack of a signal by up to 15 dB Sustain Control: Prolong or shorten the sustain of a signal by up to 24 dB Differential Envelope Technology (DET) for level-independent envelope processing Output level control On/bypass switch Signal LED Made in Germany https://tapeop.com/reviews/gear/124/tdx-transient-designer-500-series-module/ Excuse the dust - item is in perfect condition. 16. Further information: This is an excellent cable with great resolution and is really smooth (forget what you've heard about pure silver). Solid silver conductors, hand wrapped in teflon. Low mass connectors. They let the signal through with very little loss and colouration so they won't act a tone-control but they will fit into a high end system. https://silversonic.com/reviews/revelation-positive-feedback/ http://www.soundstagenetwork.com/revequip/dhlabs_revelation.htm
  17. Further Information: Up for grabs - a HIFI Tuning Supreme3 Silver Gold fuse - Slow 0.315A (315ma) not 3.15a!!! 5X20mm. The unit I intended to use these started leaking smoke. I don't have anything I can use them it. I know for a fact that they fit the Matrix HPA preamp / headphone amps. Maybe you have something they'll work in. These are the top of the range HIFI Tuning fuses and they are now about $120 each. Paypal as a friend only please.
  18. Further Information: The Wireworld Platinum HDMI cable is the ruling Emperor of I2S / LVDS cables. The new Series 8 (called the 48 by Wireworld for some reason) offers the new Composilex 3 insulation and more shielding to cut down further on internal noise in the cable. Same solid silver conductors and carbon fibre plugs but this time with sliver plated contacts. I bought 2 of these and was going to keep it as a spare. But I have to stop hoarding. https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/wireworld-releases-platinum-starlight-48-hdmi-cable/

  22. Are you referring to DRC using an active AD to DA conversion in the signal chain or, DRC using convolution filters inside a media player? I use DRC but only within Roon and would never use any AD to DA conversion in my signal chain as it is all class-A analogue once it's left my DAC.
