Great idea. I would love to know where and when the fairs might be in WA. -
"Low Balling" is it acceptable ??
Analogueage replied to 075Congo's topic in StereoNET News & Announcements
If an offer is politely made via PM it can equally be politely accepted or rejected by the seller. End of story. -
I’m currently testing the E3 using a Ferrum Oor/Wandla/Hypos stack. I must confess I’m struggling a bit as I find them delivering detailed mids and highs but distinctly lacking in bass energy which I believe Neil commented on. I find they need the maximum gain setting on the Oor to help them along. I would have to sell my Meze Empyrean to buy these and I’m struggling with that decision at the moment. I'll keep listening for now.

A Conversation About Seller's Fees
Analogueage replied to Marc's topic in StereoNET News & Announcements
Quite interesting the abuse you receive via text, even from well-regarded members with many posts, when a sold item is reported by the buyer. Apparently, I am a ''dog" and should ''take a hike'' just because I asked them to do the right thing! -
Headphone cable upgrades?
Analogueage posted a topic in Head-Fi, Portable & Desktop Audio, Hearables
I'm starting to enjoy headphones more and more especially following the reviews and opinions expressed on this sub forum. I'm currently trying the latest Dan Clark closed back headphones which seem to come with a reasonable quality cable. However, I would appreciate the collective wisdom on upgrading/changing cables and would by extension appreciate thoughts on brands etc. For my part I believe in high quality cables across the audio chain. Thanks in advance for any guidance and suggestions. Rob -
Just some advice on selling.
Analogueage replied to Meinoz's topic in General Hi-Fi & Beginners Discussion
Of course, a potential buyer might politely ask the seller via PM if they would consider an offer, assuming they say yes they can either reject or sell at the offered price. It happened to me recently both as a buyer and a seller. As long as both parties are happy then deal done. Rob -

Analogueage replied to joeling's topic in Turntables, Record Players & Vinyl
I own a Techdas turntable. It was purchased from Sonic Purity in Melbourne who I believe are both the distributor and retailer of Techdas in Australia. Rob -
A Conversation About Seller's Fees
Analogueage replied to Marc's topic in StereoNET News & Announcements
I have advocated before and completely support the upfront fee. The fee could be modest perhaps subject to advertised price and deducted from any ultimate fee that Stereo Net choose to implement. -
Purchase Etiquette in Australia
Analogueage replied to joeling's topic in General Hi-Fi & Beginners Discussion
@joeling Obviously, we have a slightly different set up to the larger markets with a 'Manufacturer, Distributor, Retailer' chain. I suspect margins of the retailer here are somewhat tighter than you may be used to? I have found that most retailers will offer some discount and once you build a relationship that may improve slightly. Over the years I have built very good relationships with three retailers (two in Perth, one in Melbourne) and I find the pricing offered to be competitive. Haggling has not really been necessary as many, probably not all, will offer a discount anyway. I don't mind too much that small margins of difference in price to what I might get elsewhere e.g. overseas, to be an issue because on the odd occasion I have had a faulty product, sometimes even out of standard warranty, these retailers have gone out of their way to make sure problems are rectified to my satisfaction even with manufacturers in the USA, UK, Eastern Europe etc. I suppose for me the comfort of knowing that they have my back is as important as price. I'm confident you will enjoy exploring the retailers in WA and the rest of Aus. Good hunting. -

Analogueage replied to TFJ100's topic in Digital Sources, DACs, and Computer Audio
Just out of interest as anyone done the AMS5 update yet without any issues? I'm dreading doing mine as I'm happy "as is" but realise it will have to be done eventually. I only use Roon with Qobuz as the streaming service, so any success stories would be appreciated. Rob- 1,081 replies
