  1. Item: B&W PV-1 Subwoofer Location: Perth Price: 700 Item Condition: very good Reason for selling: surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Extra Info: Original B&W PV-1 , not the latest version with digital interface. 500W & 2 drivers. Pretty rare colour - most of these were either black or gray. Unit was used in stereo system with electrostatic speakers. Very musical and very fast sub - blends in perfectly with the speakers. I have the original box so I could post (it's pretty heavy - weights around 20kg). Pictures:
  2. Item: Virtue Audio ICEBlock M5001 Monoblock Pair Location: Perth Price: $850 (firm) Item Condition: Very Good. No mods, no repairs Reason for selling: Not suitable for my system Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank transfer, Paypal (add 3%) Specifications: B&W ICEpower ASP500 Class D modules, as used by Jeff Rowlands, Bel Canto, Wyred4Sound, etc. Gary Dodd Tube Buffers 250w into 8 Ohms, 500w into 4 Ohms XLR and RCA inputs Pre-out for use with a subwoofer 270mm wide x 105mm high x 240mm deep Extra info: Bought them here on SNA couple of weeks ago and I was planning to use them with my ER Audio ESL3 electrostatic speakers. Unfortunately, it turned out that due to impedance characteristic of my speakers these monos are not a good match for them. I have contacted Virtue Audio, and received a confirmation, that these monos were not designed to work with speakers with such a tricky impedance curves as some of the full range electrostatic speakers have. Pity, as they are really powerfull, have "pre out" and tube buffer changes a lot. If only had a dynamic or hybrid speakers (previous owner used them with M.Logans) , I would keep them. Local sale preferred, but can post at buyers expense. (Don't have original boxes, power cables not included in the sale). Pictures:
  3. Seen him twice in action -and well, what can I say... You are absolutely right - he's not from this planet. I would disagree with comparing him to a drumming machine, though. Not sure how many years would take to program one Virgil's gig . Pity that he's not coming to WA any soon. Would love to hear him again.
  4. @Neo My budget can stretch to some point, however I'm after closed back cans. Correct me if I'm wrong, but PM-1 are open back.
  5. Thanks for posting the info about that sale! Great stuff!!! Just ordered couple of cd's. Haven't managed to buy all of the items i added to cart, though - some of them were sold out already.
  6. Sorry @Marc that was not my intention to move that thread here. As somebody has pointed out - your site, your rules and I respect that. I do understand all the problems you might get into - fine. However writing that you don't know them. Well, http://www.stereo.net.au/articles/expert-advice-and-service-with-melbournes-sound-reference Is this your name under that text?
  7. Well, Marc. I do understand your point of view. As far as I'm concerned there was no judgment in the thread. Just facts and request for help and advice. Well, it's your discussion board - you can do whatever you want. IMO closing the topic would be a proof that you don't want to get involved, removing it looks more like you actually choosing one side of that story.
  8. Hi All, My name is Paul and I've been a huge audio enthusiast for quite a few years. Currently downsized to headphones and small DAC (HiFiman 400i + Audioquest Dragonfly), but hopefuly I will get back to some decent stereo system in near future
