Perfect!!!!, I'd buy them if I didn't have some thing similar using GoldenEar Triton's instead, use a couple of these 21kg active subs "tall" 2 X 8" motional feedback drivers in each sub "used as speaker stands" with the 22's on their sides on top of them, (tweeter innermost) and you have the cheapest best big! sounding full range system down to 20hz you can get for the money.

No amps needed at all, just a good source with a volume control

@zedsMomo, not quite 250w into 8ohm, but a pair of these monoblocks should do, there's a lot of 'hype" (over 40 pages of talk) around these bettering spec wise the Hypex NC500 which I have , for the money you save I would spring for biggest 2 x 48v 10amp smps for them.
Here are the wattages v load impedance for one shared 48v power supply, "may" even be better still if you get 2 of these 48v 10A supplies as I suggested

What is the attenuator's resistance?
10K or 100K?
Very important for i/o impedance matching.

Good transport for the money, "linear power supply" (no noisy smps) a must for source equipment. And they have proper tray loader CD laser/mech, no cheap computer slot loader rubbish.

Yes class a is not a reality, too big too expensive to buy and to run.
It is if you made it with self contained water cooling/radiator/silent pump and cooling heatsink jacket, a 5kva transformer/500,000uf caps, 36 Hirel EB203/ED204 outputs, like I did in the 80's. 2 man lift

Instrol had a second shop in Manly Corso back in the 80's which had a this massive JBL driven by Fuzz Linear 700's, one Saturday morning they took it out into the middle of the Corso and filled the Corso with sound from the Darley Rd (Church end) to the beach end (Steyne Hotel), it was something to hear https://tinyurl.com/2cmp3oyh

I would suggest auditioning my system first, if you get a chance.
As I said and laid out above in this system of his and the way he wants to use it, a passive no matter what the cred, will not be an good impedance match the way the OP @JeffH wants to use it.

I am currently using an Asus Xonar essence one which has a speaker volume control nob.
Yes that'll be fine it has a nice low 100ohms output impedance at all frequencies, and with output volume control, using the 2 x dual rca's I linked to above. then set your volume where you need on the V3's. and use this as the master.
So your up for $10 for the dual rca's and another set of interconects.

My question: what are some options to connect the rca input from two amplifiers to the output of my dac?
You need a volume control on your dac if it has one, so you have a "master volume control"??
If so all you need is two of these on the L&R outputs of your dac to both Fosi V3's https://tinyurl.com/266929bt
Then you can set the Fosi's volume to the loudness you want on that pair of speakers and use the dac volume as the master for all.
This will work if your dac has a low output impedance, most do save for tube ones.

Usually audio gear that measure well do not sound good because most ears are accustomed to badly engineered products, our brains preferred certain amount of distortions, and when that's added we think its "better". it isn't until you play something that's well recorded live you realise what's going on.
Yes I can see it that way, but I say some ears instead of most.
Also I don't do audio gear to sound "gentler" for rubbish recordings, which then in turn "reins in" the magnificents of good recordings because of it being gentler.

Any recommendations on a passive pre-amp that just offers volume with minimal colouration of the music?
None, trouble is your going to ask the source output/passive preamp to drive very long interconnects to the analog amps inside each M2 speaker, that are only 10kohm input impedance.
This is not happy a environment for the source through a passive pre, or even an active tube pre, unless it's a "white cathode follower" output stage, then that's not a "true tube pre" sound so many tube guys say.
You need active solid state pre with a low output impedance, say <100ohms output impedance

I have a topping e30 dac
Yes it apparently has volume control, I would try direct into the Fosi Audio V3 monoblocks if you get them, and they have a "gain switch" (hi or low) on the back (circled in red) so you'd switch them so the volume is up high on the E30 for the loudest that you listen.

Very good subjective review of them on how it sounded on his system.
As for the mods they are just input opamp buffer differences, they do all sound different, I prefer none at all if your dac, like mine has the gain/voltage and volume control to do it.

I have a pos vibes preamp but it's missing the heater power supply.
You can make your own if you have the skills, if not Kimil Electronics up here in Sydney will make one up for you. Give him this and your Pre.

Dynamic range was limited to 3,000 Hz
Really knew their audio spec speak back then.
Should have been "frequency response limited to 3,000hz (3khz).
(but then they are car salesmen aren't they any BS will do)
Probably because the tracking weight was >50 grams and the poor stylus couldn't vibrate any higher than 3khz as it was digging up vinyl partials, wonder how long a record lasted before you heard both sides at once

Could these be bridged into mono’s and use two to drive Gale 401’s with more “ease”
I would never bridge an amp, all you get is more watts, and the inability then for it to drive harder loads than it did when not bridged. (it turns good amps into PA amps)

Thanks George, in that case, would you recommend a solid power amp (like an Electra) or starting again with a capable integrated.
Keep the pre and try some Class-D amps, had alook there's not much on SNA classifieds save for a March NC1200 Hypex based one, I much prefer the NC500's but they've all been sold.
There are these from the maker, just over the border, make sure you get a warranty with them even though he's been doing them now for a while.

Here is the curve for the latest iteration
Be nice to see the -phase angle graph overlay with that (like Stereophile show) to tell the whole story to see what the EPDR impedance is going to be like.

The 240 puts out 50w into 8 ohms and 85 into 4 and a phone call to VAF should get you some info about their recommendations, or PM
There is no impedance/phase curve graph to be found anywhere on these VAF i66's.
But from what I'm looking at, these speakers need amps "that have a pair", not 50w@8ohm and then only 85w@4ohms
OMore like at least 100w@8ohm, and doubling to 200w@4ohms at least. or better still 200w@8ohm and 400w@40ohms

Is listening to FM still a good musical option.

I had one of the best, a Tandberg 3001 (FM only) that was perfect serviced/tuned condition via the service manual by Allen Wright (rip) used with external Hills dedicated Y-FM3 antenna that could see the Gore Hill towers.
Sorry surprisetech but I sold it when I heard what DAB+ ABC Classic sounded like in an A/B comparison with it.
