  1. Hi Michal I would recommend you check out the Marantz PM7000n. I've had it for about a year and have loved it. It sounds great through my Ascension Sentinels and the software has been glitch free, although admittedly I use Spotify Connect most the time rather than HEOS. It's a great sounding one box solution I think. I can't say how it compares to the NAD c368 as I haven't heard that, but the PM7000n replaced a NAD C350 at my place and it was a definite improvement on that unit, particularly with regards to stereo imaging. Cheers, Ben

  5. Further information: Great amp that has not missed a beat over the past 18 years. Would make a great starter amp for someone looking to get into Hifi. It has got a few years on it but it is in excellent cosmetic condition. Remote is included and works although it's got slight cosmetic damage. I don't have the box so I would prefer pick up but willing to explore postage at buyers expense. Happy to answer any questions. 6. sorry, just realised its a slightly different model.
  7. The Technics Australia website lists a number of places that stock them, including Apollo Hifi in Victoria
  8. There was a Cyrus One Cast in the commercial forum about a month ago at a pretty sharp price. Its not marked as sold so it may still be available. You can find it here,
  9. I've had a set of the original Aurora 2's since around 2002. There have been a number of times I've tried to justify getting different speakers, but then I sit down and listen and think, they just sound really good. Good imaging, wide sound stage and good tonal balance. They just sort of disappear. I ran them originally on a NAD C350 (60 watt) and more recently on a 40watt Quasimodo and they performed well on both, but the Quasimodo is certainly superior. They don't need a heap of juice. Definitely would recommend giving them a try.
  10. Hi James I have you checked whether your Yamaha has pre-outs? Ben
  11. Hi MTsoul Thanks for the feedback. I have looked at the R-N602 and wondered whether spending the extra would be worth it. Good to hear it is working well for you. I'll have to check it out. Cheers
  12. Hi All Interested in getting people's opinions on a new streaming amp. I'm looking at consolidating my existing family room system which currently has 6 boxes (amp, tuner, cd player, Blu-ray player, Apple TV (attached to a cheap DAC) and is too complicated. At present I've got a NAD C350 amp with Adelaide Speakers with Sentinel speakers. I'm looking at getting a streaming receiver/amp with an internal DAC. I would then use the Blu-ray as a transport for CD's and get rid of the CD player, tuner and cheap DAC. Yamaha I've been seriously considering the Yamaha R-N803d. The C350 has served me well but its getting pretty long in the tooth. What I'm wondering is whether is what people think would be the performance difference between the C350 and the R-N803. I don't really want to go backwards in sound quality if possible. I'd be interested in hearing the opinions of people that may have heard them both. Or if there are other options you'd suggest I'd been keen to hear it. Budget is around $1500. Cheers, Ben
  13. Hi Paul I'm only fairly new on here and haven't had a lot of exposure to a wide range of equipment, but I've had a set of Orpheus Aurora 2 (series 1) speakers since 2001, initially driven by a NAD C350 and now a 40w Quasimodo. Over the years I've tried to justify getting new speakers, but then I sit down and listen to them again and think they are just really nice sounding, balanced speakers, with a wide variety of music. Certainly an improvement with the Quasi over the NAD though. So I would say, if you've got a chance to have a listen to the Aurora's do that, you might be pleasantly surprised. Cheers, Ben
  14. Ok, thanks for getting back to me. I was intrigued by the Creek, but I'm looking for something with digital inputs. GLWTS.
  15. Just wondering whether this includes the Ruby 2 DAC module? Thanks
  16. I have a 40watt Quasimodo (2016 model) which I have been running with Orpheus Aurora 2s. The combination is pretty good, but for a number of reasons (room size, musical tastes, excellent reviews) I'm considering swapping the Aurora 2s for KEF LS50s. I am wondering whether anyone else has tried LS50's with a 40w Quasimodo and what your opinion is on the combination. Getting the LS50s to trial the combo won't be easy so I thought I would canvas opinion and see if it was worth pursuing. Cheers, Ben
  17. Hi Guys, thanks for the welcome. This might be a dumb question, but how do you send a offer to a classified add? I've seen people says things like "I've sent you a PM" What does "PM" mean, and how do you contact the member who has posted the add? Thanks for your help.
  18. Hi All Look forward to learning from your all.
