  1. Thanks appreciate the suggestion. Can you recall which Kit One - eg a recent one with few/no Audio Note parts or an older one? Any idea which OPTs? Will help me to contextualise the Elekit. Cheers, Rod
  2. Do you happen to have the Southern Stars for sale?
  3. Thanks all and there's some great ideas here....intrigued by the Cymers and will look about for a pair....AN Conquest second hand also comes to mind. Sugden is an interesting option that I had not thought of but is relatively easy to hear in Melbourne.
  4. Hi everyone, I am looking for suggestions. I have an Audio Note Kit One which has been taken about as far as it can go with upgraded OPTs, caps, resistors etc. I am now looking for an amp that will give bit more weight and scale...hopefully without losing the holographics and sweetness. Speakers are Audio Note An/E HE (98db) with an Audio Note M3 Line pre-amp, and an MSB Discrete Dac (could be used as a pre). I am not too keen on 845/211 for the heat etc. I have thought about a Pass Labs XA25 or First Watt Sit 3 - yet to demo either - as well as a Prima Luna Dialogue power. I am keen to hear ideas from others...would prefer to be able to demo in house so accessibility in Melbourne is important. Thanks Rod
  5. Just wondering if this is still for sale? Regards, Rod
  6. And if you want to hear Voxativ then call Richard at Audio Salon in Bulleen... btw I doubt AN would be exaggerating...and than are not limited in my experience. Good luck.
  7. My understanding is that the HE is 98 db...I think the earlier ones were closer to 90.
  8. Actually I decided to keep them... Regards, Rod

  10. Item: Synergistic Research TESLA Accelerator bi-wire speaker cables (2 meter) Location: Melbourne Price: 1100 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: need longer cables Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Synergistic Research TESLA Accelerator bi-wire speaker cables (2 meter) configured with spades on both ends. The speaker cables come with the original dual MPC (240v) for active shielding. The Tesla series of cables have earned numerous awards including The Absolute Sound Editors Choice Awards. Notable feature is Zero Capacitance Active Shielding which claims to “significantly improve cable bandwidth especially in the areas of low frequency extension and control” by applying a DC Voltage to the cable’s shield through miniature DC sockets woven into the cables. A plug-in ‘wall wart’ power supply is provided to power this, and blue LEDs in the cable show when it is active. Would be keeping these if I didn't need longer cables due to a room change... 13. It's pretty easy for everyone to answer the question for themselves...Assuming you have a few different makes of power cable in your system (beg or borrow if not), try placing them in different points in your system, and move them around. In my experience you'll hear a difference. I run a number of brands including Siltech, Supra and Vovox and there is an unequivocal difference in the sound presentation depending on which box they're powering. Is the most expensive cable the best? That depends on your tastes. I will venture that the Vovox (most expensive) does seem more extended and resolving whereas the Supra (least expensive) most balanced and natural in my system. I will also say that replacing the Vovox with an Absolute Transmission added a sense of ease and flow to the whole system. The only absolute in my experience is that there is a difference between power cables.
