  1. Item: Rega Planar 3 with Grace 707 tonearm Location:Perth Price: $840 Item Condition:Exellent Reason for selling: Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info:I have an Original Rega Planar 3 turntable with Grace 707 tonearm and New NAGAOKA -MP150 cartridge for sale. It has a glass platter and belt upgrade. I bought the turntable for $450 without the carttridge ($365) had it vertually rebiult by the turntable Doctor for I think $150. . I also bought a replacement hydraulic tonearm lifter from Japan for a further $100 It owes me about $1.2K. The turntable Doctor said if I were to buy the equivelent now in sound quality I would need to pay over $4,5K. And if you know the guy, you know he is legit. It is a rare find and perfect! If you know this combination you will know how hard they are to find especially in this condition. This is a VERY regrettable sale due to recovering from ill health. Please do not bother low balling or you will be ignored completely. Pictures:

  3. Thats pretty good, well actually amazing, your hearing age is younger than the average 24 year old.
  4. Just came upon this on Youtube there are many similar tests also. Might be good to use your best headphones for this. Me: 20-13,000 Hz Age:57 although went as low as 10Hz on another test I would be interested for others to post your results.

  14. Oh its bloody hilarious, there is subjective debate on what "reference" means..............oh the irony.................. Audiogon Member, Michaelkingdom, recently asked for some ideas regarding his new audio room. This time, he’s wondering what you think “Reference†really means since we hear it so often. Here are some responses: Kr4 It is simply something that you accept as a standard against which other items are compared. One might infer that such a standard is superior to all else but the term does not directly imply that. However, many do use that inference in using the term and, of course, many manufacturers attach the term to a product with the intention of implying the superiority of the product. Nonoise Well said. Joman An extra 10 grand! Michaelkingdom Thanks for the clarification. It seems like reference would refer to an established common standard but I suppose it is confined to one’s own established standard. Zydo It is what you use as a “reference†to judge other things: speakers or other equipment, recordings, cables or anything else. Exactly what the name implies. Rja Basically it’s a marketing term that may or may not have any real meaning. Anyone can stick “reference†on their product as there are no rules, regulations or criteria (that I’m aware of) for its use or meaning. However, I believe most audiophiles would agree that true “reference†products have existed in the past and currently exist. But I think what was once a reference product, say in 1965 or 1980 is probably not one today. Jafant the term reference means a product that exceeds any previous standard w/in the same category. Jburidan Favorite Nonoise It can also imply to consumers that a particular product, or line of products, are the manufacturers best efforts. 15. Exactly! I have a rega brio R amp, Rega Dac, Rega planar 3 with Grace 707 tonearm and dynaudio Audience 52's it was all reasonably priced. It is nothing other than Hi Fi because of the way it sounds. I have listened to a 65K (approximately as i know the TT was 23K alone ) system a couple of months ago . I came home and was not at all disappointed with the sound of my system at all. Oh I forgot to list my cable collection.................................
  16. I have heard the term "Mid Fi" used around, What is that? Not that I really care. "Hi fi" is hi fidelity sound. My system is not high end, but it is high fidelity not mid-fi whatever that means Again I dont really care where it fits within the spectrum. The other stuff may be "high end" fair enough, but I think there would not be a single person on this site that does not have a "high fidelity" system.............Hi-Fi..........FYI I dont really care what other people call it, just trying to illustrate a point.
  17. There isn't a pic Vinyl I think ols45 being Avant' Garde with the whole minimalist thing
