  1. Hi Snoopy8. Not at all. My current thinking is that it probably works very well for many people, and will probably work very well for me. I am very likely to make a purchase. I apologise if my comments and questions are inappropriate for this forum.
  2. Once your almost new unit is safely despatched, Hi-Fi Whipped, I will ask you about your own mixed feelings. But not until then!.
  3. Hello Recur, I think you are right re the software problems. They don't appear to have been sorted out, yet, with updates fixing one set of problems and leading to unexpected problems for others. Hello Snoopy8, I take it that you don't dispute that no review in Absolute Sound or Stereophile = not good enough to review in Absolute Sound or Stereophile? I certainly don't wish to imply that no review in Absolute Sound or Stereophile = "not good enough" in any absolute sense. I mentioned it as an illustrative example, only, of what seems to me the polarised opinion. My current thinking is that it probably works very well for many people, and will probably work very well for me, but that others are frustrated by software problems with their particular (possibly more complex) system.
  4. Hello C658 owners, I have noticed the contrast between the generally positive attitude to the functioning of this item here, and the rather negative attitude in the equivalent AVS forum https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/3038854-official-nad-c658-thread-51.html Similarly, it’s received a rave review from What HiFi, but has not been deemed worthy of a review by Absolute Sound or Stereophile. Any ideas why it has received such a split reception?
  5. Hello Mr Lime, thank you for your interest. I purchased it on this listing from the original owner, Nathaniel, a gentleman and a scholar, in August 2015.
  6. I have gone through several years of.... torture... trying to get my dream system together, as budget allows. Sitting in my dedicated music room is hard work. It is occurring to me that I may never be happy in that room. On the other hand, I have some 35 years old Bose Roommate powered speakers up on the wall in my living room, hooked up to a portable digital audio player that plays Tidal. Very happy there. Many years ago I had a car that just had great sounding AM radio. Happy there also. I think the first time I heard "Abbey Road" and "Abraxas" all the way through was a plastic record player with a sound like a cheese grater. Very happy.
