  1. Further information: Up for sale is a pair of Quad 2905 in full operational condition and overall very good appearance except some scratches along the side trims, paint chips on back cover etc, please refer to photos, photos look worse than real life but I just used flash in order to capture the defects. All panels have been completely rebuilt 5/6 months ago and are dead quiet with power on. EHT power supplies are checked and are putting out approximately 4.9kv which is within spec. The EHT neon indicators flash once every seconds or 2-4 seconds depending on humidity, it means very healthy panels with no HV leakage. As a result they are expected to be even more reliable than a brand new pair. Cover fabrics are washed clean too during the rebuild. I have van can assist with local transport. No box. Donation will be made once sold. Why you may prefer restored/rebuilt panels when buying Quad? The common reason of quad panel failure is the type of glue Quad has been using for gluing the stators onto the supporting matrices deteriorate/become brittle, causing one or both stators come apart from the supporting matrices, thus stator(s) come in contact with the HV charged mylar that sandwiches in the centre, provided EHT power supplies are good, symptoms can be buzzing/hissing noise, low output(due to HV charge leaks from mylar to stator or other parts within the speaker. When rebuilding panels by third party, the type of glue commonly used is polyurethane base, once is cured this glue stays firm and strong instead of hard and brittle, the only catch is the work piece need to be clamped down for many hours for the glue to be fully cured. This widely considered to be permanent fix over replace new/original panels from quad as the type of glue was used in production, they are GUARANTEED to fail easily. Story regarding this can be found everywhere. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
