  1. Further information: I have for sale a pair of beautiful Escalante Design Pinyons in bamboo. Never thought I'd sell them, but due to my current residence I don't have the room to dedicate to a 2ch hifi setup and I just haven't been listening to them. Let someone else enjoy them now. A patented design by Thierry Budd, previously of Wilson Audio and Talon Acoustics. It uses two 6.5" drivers, one front facing and one internal, paired with a SS ring radiator. The patent comes in the internal design and pairing of the two bass drivers. Good bit of history in this article: http://stereotimes.com/speak030805.shtml Very forward and detailed sound with a huge soundstage when set-up properly. Good bass extension but really shine with a sub if in a larger room. Good to very good condition, some small marks on them as shown in pictures. They travelled half-way around the world with me. Very rare and possibly the only pair in Australia. Retailed @7000USD. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  2. Further information: I have a single Tannoy System 15 DMT II that I have been using as a center channel for a number of years. Good condition, a couple of small dents in the mdf edging and a scratch as can be seen in pics. Driver is in excellent condition. Amazing Tannoy sound, just looking for something that pairs a little better with my system. Looking to sell it, or interesting in buying one to pair it up with. I think the askng price is fair and it is what I am offering if someone has one they want to sell. Offers of trades welcomed. 3. Hi all, looking for a little advice. I am building a full marty sub and have a question about driver placement on the baffle. It seems some place the driver in the middle of the baffle where some place the driver in the middle of the speaker, i.e. slightly lower then the center of the baffle due to the port. EIther way it is aligned essentially to the port inlet which from what I've read isn't optimal. My question is does it really matter? I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. For aesthetic reasons, and using a 2/5 3/5 split, I wanted to place the driver higher but seems the weight higher in the cabinet is not a good idea and it puts most of the driver right infront of the port inlet. 2/5 3/5 placed lower in the cabinet keeps most of the driver below the port inlet but in the shallow part of the cabinet. Am I over thinking it? Just trying to figure out what tradeofs there are.
  4. Item: SOLD Proac Tablette Super Extended Bass Tablette (EBT) Location: Perth Price: $$old Item Condition: Fair to good Reason for selling: Surplus too needs, too many speakers and projects Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: These are in decent shape but could use some TLC/touch-up. These speakers sound incredible for there size and bass and imaging are top-notch especially from such a compact speaker. Most of the markings are just chips in the paint and on the back, I wanted to refinish them but do not have the time and thought I should post them warts-in so people know what they are getting. Couple small tears in the grill cloths and one bump on the bottom ~5-7 mm as seen in photos. The tweeters have been replaced with new Scanspeak D2008/8512 ($220 from Wagner) which are the ferrofluid version of the D2008 and a replacement for the original tweeters. Just so there is no confusion, as one member on SNA mentioned that he replaced with Vifa tweeters in another ad, I have attached a picture of the original tweeters marked "D2008" by Scanspeak. Not saying the other member is wrong, they might have had different tweeters in the EBT, but these ones originally had the SS D2008. Pick-up in Perth only at this stage, but let me know if you are interested. Possibly interested in trades +/- cash for a balanced USB DAC Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  5. Thanks Gemini, yes great little speaker, but something has to go...
  6. Item: Proac Tablette Super EBT Speakers Location: Perth Price: 500 Item Condition: Cabinets need TLC, working fine and sound excellent Reason for selling: Too many projects Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I had hoped to refinish these cabinets to their former glory but find I don't have the time. The tweeters have been replaced with new Sanspeak D2008/8512 and maybe have a couple hours on them since replacing. It is incredible how good these speakers sound for their size and the name is correct they do have a surprising amount of bass for their size. I still have the original tweeters as well which are not working, if desired. Cabinets have some nicks on the corners and one larger bump on the bottom as seen in the pics and could you some new cloth on the grills. Prefer not to ship, but if they don't move locally I may consider it. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  10. Item: Krell HTS 5.1 Location: Perth Price: 450 Item Condition: very good Reason for selling: Surplus to needs Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Surplus to needs at the moment and a regretful sale as it is an amazing sounding unit even as a 2 channel dac/pre, just too much gear and don't have a use for it atm. Comes with remote as pictured. I don't think the remote is working, but I haven't put any effort into trying to get it to work, swapped the batteries but that is all.
