  1. Further information: Up for sale is this pair of 1.0mtr Jorma Prime xlr's which I am selling for a friend, so the rest of the ad is in his words. This was one of two pairs I purchased from my local authorised Jorma Dealer. I originally bought this 2nd pair as I planned to move to separates, but ended up keeping my Vitus SIA-025 integrated instead. So I am offering this lightly used pair to a discrerning audiophile. Jorma cables were originally made in Gothenburg, Sweden by cable guru Jorma Kosky who fastidiously built these cables. Sadly Jorma passed away a couple of years ago, but the business was taken over by Jorma's good friend, Leif Mårten Olofsson of Marten Speakers who continue to make Jorma cables in Sweden, and have even expanded their range. I have to say as a seasoned audiophile of almost 30 years, Jorma cables hooked me like no other cables at their price point. I've owned a full loom of Jorma Origo and Jorma Prime cables, and now added Jorma Statement speaker cables. Generally speaking, as you move up the Jorma line, you get more of everything; more resolution, harmonic richness, a bigger sound stage etc. In terms of tonality, Origo is neutral, Prime is warm and Statement is again neutral. If I had to choose one word to describe the sound of Jorma cables, it would be "natural". I've found a good balance in my system using Jorma Prime xlr's and pc's, and Statement sc's. Prime sounds warm, harmonically rich, resolving, yet smooth and has a nice musical 'flow'. There is a warmth and liquid flow to the music imbued by the Bybee Slipstream Golden Quantum Purifiers. Having come from Origo (sans Bybees) to Prime, I have to say i'm now a believer. Prime also nails the midrange. Vocals and jazz are particularly well served. From Jorma: Prime cables are made of top-quality materials: gold, the purest possible copper, transparent Teflon, ceramic fibres and walnut, all fine-tuned to get their best possible result. The cables have completely new conductors that were developed, by a small European producer that really had to push its limits. It took more than half a year before they even were able to produce the first test batch. The cables also make use of Bybee Slipstream Golden Quantum Purifiers. The current MSRP for these cables is $13kAUD. Reasonable offers in the ballpark are welcome, though no tyre kickers please as these are some of the best high end cables in the world. The S/N is stamped on the polished brass plate on each cable, so provenance may be confirmed with Jorma Design. A donation will be made to SNA upon completion of the sale. Any questions, just ask. 4. I wandered into Basement Discs a couple of days ago & they were open with the usual precautions (ie: hand sanitizer on the counter). I think it's a mixed bag the moment like most retail stores.
  5. Good suggestion to support our local brick/mortar stores 👍
  6. If you're looking to stock up on vinyl during the lockdown, just a heads up there is a big online vinyl sale this weekend 💪 - https://www.theurbanlist.com/a-list/record-store-day-2020?fbclid=IwAR3h5JOJGHH64iIo1g_7MNNIbyNu3wzep2V79EVXkUVeM9zU_trxFVETIps
  7. Further information: Up for sale is this rare set of (4) Wally feet. These were purchased as used items from Secher Audio in 2009 for $600.00. Wally feet were designed by a very reclusive guy, Wally Neumann who took the basis of flagship Harmonix tuning feet, and improved them with a constrained layer design comprised of exotic materials including ebony. For the tweak freaks out there, you can turn the feet over to the other side to get a slightly different tone. There is black felt material on one side and green felt material on the other to denote the different sides. I haven't experimented with this feature, but according to George Secher there is a subtle difference. These are 'absorbtion' type feet which are designed to absorb vibration through constrained layer technology then release the energy as heat. I had great success using the Wallys under my dac & cd player, as well as under a power conditioner. To read more about the basic design principle of Wally feet, you can read about Harmonix tuning feet on the Combak/Harmonix website. Harmonix are probably best known for providing the isolation for the legendary Reimyo CDP-777 & more recent CDT-777. The equivalent Harmonix feet are the TU-666ZX which were quite a bit more expensive and retailed for over $1200.00USD for a set of 4! Unlike most metallic feet, Wally feet add a touch of warmth. I recall when I bought them, they were by far the best isolation feet George had in the store at the time (which included Aurios Pro Max and a few others). I also recall George saying Wally felt his feet sounded better than the Harmonix feet. In gold and black, they look as good as they sound for sure! Wally feet have been out of production for many years and very rarely come up for sale. Condition wise, the feet show normal wear for their age incl: a few minor nicks. There is a minor crack in the Ebony wood on one foot that is only noticeable on close inspection & doesn't affect the performance of the foot at all. The outer gold rings are immaculate. Overall, the feet are in very good condition and have been well cared for since purchase. A note about shipping: I am offering free tracked shipping Australia-wide. I will ship these items via Australia Post with Signature on delivery anywhere in Australia. They will be packed in a suitable size box with ample bubble wrap to ensure a safe journey. Otherwise local pickup is welcome. I will make a 2% donation to the Bushfire Appeal on completion of the sale. Here is your chance to pick up some true collectors items! Any questions, just ask! 12. Yeah, he was an interesting fellow. I wonder if Captain Von Trappe would have bought these? After all, he was fond of Edelweiss 😄
